Ristorante All'Oro Roma Reviews from The Last Year
Disappointment
Very disappointing Good service, but the food was not tasty, besides the wine and butter. Beef came cold. Potato tirammiso just not tasty
Delicious food!!!!!!
Enjoyed the All'Origine menu, it was truly fantastic. After a friendly welcome, we were guided to our table, where the red rose that I had ordered in advance via email was ready. The menu was then explained to us in detail. We chose the All'Orgine menu of 6 courses. With the ravioli a supplement of white truffle. The food was of very high quality, delicious in taste and very original. All dishes were a twist on existing Italian dishes. The recommended wines paired perfectly with the food. The service was very good welcoming friendly very attentive. In short, it was a very successful evening.
Beautiful intimate address
Inside The Hall Taylor Suite hotel, Minimalist atmosphere and subdued lighting, Very impersonal reservation, even being at the hotel, we had to make it online with a credit card, Pleasant and attentive staff, Choosing a menu in advance, I was surprised by the portion of dough and disappointed with its presentation. Meals with beautiful local Italian products. The dishes throughout the meal were not very consistent, We had a great time, but I was expecting more for our first Michelin star in Italy!
A 5-star restaurant in your home
We were particularly surprised by this unexpected dinner, a real experience of flavors but also of Roman culture. We immediately felt at home despite it being a restaurant with a Michelin star, the staff were excellent, helpful, attentive and above all welcoming as if we were at home. I also feel I have to thank a young but great woman Alessia, who accompanied us throughout our journey, always making us feel at ease, but at the same time always making us smile a few times. In short, what can I say... thanks to all of you for the professionalism and love you put into everything you do, I can assure you that it is not to be taken for granted!
In a word fantastic!
We had a fantastic evening at all oro restaurant. Very friendly welcome and service. We enjoyed every course. The sommelier gave us good advice about the wine. We opted for wine to match the dishes, but because we did not want to drink 6 glasses of wine, he recommended wine that matched 2 consecutive dishes. When we asked after 2 dishes if they could wait a bit before the next course, this was done neatly and we could indicate when the next course could come through. In short, we enjoyed it. Thank you everyone for your good service and fantastic dishes.
Happiness at the table
Happiness as a couple, we had fun, we ate amazingly and we found the staff polite and welcoming. we recommend the various routes they described to us. the venue is beautiful. the cost is a detail.... a beautiful and memorable evening is priceless.
Excellent food but too high a price
I have nothing to say about the food because it was all exceptional. I give 3 stars exclusively for the service and the price. Price not up to the service offered, really approximate and not like a starred restaurant (in every aspect).
A perfect cuddle
We chose All'oro for a midweek treat and we were not disappointed at all. The environment is extremely elegant, the minimal table setting gives off a sense of cleanliness and the lighting, which at first may seem poor, actually enhances the dishes perfectly. The dinner did not disappoint: the chef's welcome was wonderful, he focuses a lot on the game and immediately gives the customer an experience that is both exploratory and tasty. The real surprise are the desserts, which maintain the surprising effect of the beginning and are a real discovery for both the eyes and the palate. The dining room staff was very kind, discreet and always available. Definitely a restaurant to return to.
good choice
Midweek dinner to try this restaurant and treat yourself to a birthday dinner. Very elegant environment and many foreign customers. Spectacular tasting menu route with a particular predilection for morsels to be eaten in one bite offered in various courses. Nice experience to repeat when a new menu route will be able to amaze us again.
The ecstasy of flavors
Sublime! A true journey of flavours. Everything is taken care of down to the smallest detail, the dining room staff are super attentive to all customer requests. I definitely recommend it
Unmissable
Fantastic. I might not say anything else The All'origine menu is a journey of flavors and a continuous challenge between the perception of what you see and what you eat. It forces you to be focused on the food, perceiving taste and flavors even more. Staff really present, kind and super helpful. Relaxed and non-pompous atmosphere Explaining it is useless. You have to go
How much do you like olive oil? Candidly, I'm not sure how
How much do you like olive oil? Candidly, I'm not sure how the judges granted All'Oro it's star - both my wife and I left both disappointed and disheartened. A Michelin star restaurant is supposed to be an experience to remember - a culinary tour de force. A meal at most Michelin star restaurants is an impeccable experience of creativity, flavor, and service - something that you relay to your friends such that you elicit jealousy from them. It is an experience so special that it justifies the steep price tag. As I write this review, I desperately struggle to recall the high points of the evening aside from my wife's company. All'Oro is al fresco dining. I certainly cannot blame the staff for the fact that we started dinner at 7:45 PM in 96 degree heat, but the lack of any sort of fans or other mechanisms to make the guests even a bit more comfortable was disturbing. I wish I had come in a bathing suit so they could have periodically doused me with cool water. The service - initially- was exactly what you would expect. Attentive- perhaps even a touch overbearing. I kept thinking of John Turturro in Mr. Deeds popping up. I have eaten at many renowned Michelin Star restaurants and I know what to expect. I have also worked professionally in a few restaurants - I am no stranger to high-end cuisine or service. We both decided on the 140 Eu "At the Origin" tasting menu. As a 6'2" 245lb man, I still found myself struggling to keep up with the amount of food presented. Almost a game or challenge of sorts, we were bombarded with dish, after dish, after dish, of small bites, spherifications, miniature this, tiny that. It was initially quite beautiful and "playful," but we quickly grew weary. It was too much - and frankly overwhelming. And then we started to realize there was a hidden theme, a common thread to our meal; there was one ring to rule them all and it was coated in extra virgin olive oil. Dish after dish continued to leave my palette coated with the pervasive fruitiness of fine olive oil. I love olive oil. But with any barrage of fat, there needs to be some acid, and some texture to cut things here and there. A change of pace, a breath of relief. Dish after bite after dish left me with little more than another smooth texture that could be easily consumed by a patron with few or no teeth. Flavors were sometimes intense- perhaps too intense. The cod in my tiramisu was fishy and amplified by notes of olive oil that reminded me of canned mackerel. Oily, foamy, creamy fishy bites. Carbonara was somewhat of a shining star until the barrage of squid ink and - yes, olive oil, on the bottom of the plate again coated my palette to the point of wanting to suck on a lemon. I was so hoping for some textural nuances to appear but they never really did. Yes, we enjoyed crisp spheres of tomato water at one point, but it wasn't enough. Creamy, then oily, then cheesy, then oily, then foamy ... fat on top of fat on top of fat. Can I have some more olive oil please? The service. I would love to say it was great, but it simply wasn't what it should be. The staff were mostly very young and seemed to lack experience and finesse. We were feeling very rushed and specifically had to ask several times for them to slow down so we could take a breath. The young lady at the table next to us was "sprayed" by a poorly opened bottle of prosecco or champagne. Although she took it with a smile, we knew they were disappointed and could overhear much of their conversation. Like us, they found much of the food more challenging than tantalizing. You should never overhear comments like "this isn't so bad," or "does this taste fishy to you?" at a Michelin Star restaurant. The highlight of the evening was sadly neither the food, nor the service but a bottle of 2018 D'Apri Brut. It was nothing short of spectacular and worth every penny - and it paired very well with olive oil. At the end of our night I smiled at my wife and wiped the sweat from my brow for the 26th time. I was excited to go to the bathroom because it was air conditioned. I paid the 500 Euro check and thought to myself, was this worth it? The answer was a resounding and regretful - no. There were so many mistakes, avoidable mistakes that it was difficult not to shake my head in disappointment. I don't need to be subjected to spherifications and edible plastic bags just for the sake of doing them, especially when they don't taste particularly spectacular. The amount of time an effort taken to make a lemon crumble and insert it in an edible bag is impressive, but I would have enjoyed a well made cookie even more. I choked down the last of some Benedictine they brought me (they did not have Grand Marnier ) and luckily that helped wash some of the lingering cod and olive oil flavors from my mouth. On my way home I stopped for an espresso and a Grand Marnier.
This one was in between a 4 and a 5 star review but what
This one was in between a 4 and a 5 star review but what was 5 star was the service and the chefs welcome assortment. We were with a couple that wanted nice wine but at a lower price point than a restaurant at this level usually has to offer. The wine sommelier was very patient and gracious asking all four of us what type of wines we usually like and taking time to find the best options at their lower price point which was much appreciated. The chefs assortment of appetizers as the welcome was a full course in itself. It was playful and fun while still feeling upscale. We all enjoyed ourselves. The pasta truffle dish was amazing. The rest of the dishes we had were good - but probably what had me leaning towards the 4 star side of things. Then, the chef brought out multiple desserts in a playful set up similar to the chefs welcome which was an unexpected treat. Overall, a wonderful meal.
We were tired of tasting menus so we ordered a la carte,
We were tired of tasting menus so we ordered a la carte, likely more than the average patron, which ended up being a substantial amount of very rich food. Food was amazing, service was great. This restaurant rejects formalities in favor of having fun and pushing the boundaries. Feels more like a trendy supper club than a stuffy white tablecloth restaurant. Probably not what you came to Rome in search of, but easy to see that this Michelin Star was hard earned.
We had hoped for the best but the food and service were off.
First the food - The highlight was the linguine with cuttlefish. It was very good. Other dishes were good but some dishes definitely did not taste good. One of the desserts included watermelon pieces and they were either rotten or intentionally meant to taste like cough syrup. It's nice to see other reviews that speak positively of service. Unfortunately, the service was rather cold for us. They didn't ask how the food tasted or how we liked the food until the meal was almost over. We did not feel welcome or comfortable.
Having eaten at other Michelin star restaurants I was
Having eaten at other Michelin star restaurants I was excited to try All'Oro, sadly this was not up to par. The staff was AMAZING very friendly, eager to answer questions and provide suggestions, can't complain. Overall, the food was good, but the whole tasting menu was very poorly balanced which felt very heavy and with some dishes that felt just unnecessary. I really loved the potato tiramisu and the carbonara, which was not only really rich in flavor but a very different take on it. Presentation was really nice and different and that I really enjoyed, but would not consider this a true Michelin Star restaurant.
I went to All'Oro by myself as I was on a solo trip to Rome.
Every moment inside was delightful! The decor is elegant. The service was excellent. I never had an empty plate in front of me for long and never waited long for my next course. The food was very well explained and I loved the stories that came along with each course. Really well thought out and creative. The food was so interesting, as was the plating. I was kind of glad I was by myself because I could really focus all my attention on the food and tasting what the chef was trying to convey.
Easily the word meal ever.
From the bullying to order items we didn't want to the salty fishy weird taste and consistency of almost all the "food". Save yourself.
Excellent ambiance and service.
Exactly what one would expect of a Michelin star restaurant. The food was also very exciting spanning a wide range of textures, tastes, and artistic styles in its presentation. There are multiple tasting menu options, which is great. I docked them 1 star because the wine is much too expensive for the quality. For example, a gattinara costs 250 euro when it's real value is around 50 at best. Other similar examples abound.
Having eaten at other Michelin star restaurants I was
Having eaten at other Michelin star restaurants I was excited to try this one. Honestly I have no idea how this place ever got a Michelin star! The food was so awful we were laughing at the end of the meal about how every bad it was. The amuse-bouche was presented in an entertaining way, however each of them lacked flavor, had odd textures, and were down right bad. They set the scene for a sub-par meal. The waiter told us they received their Michelin star for the duck ravioli appetizer, so we started with that dish. The presentation was nice, but all I could taste was salt. No trace of duck flavor. The filling and pasta was an odd texture which was off putting. This is an unusual reactions for me, as I don't normally react to texture, but as there was no flavor other than salt it stood out. My next course was the lamb. I inquired if the lamb was served medium rare, as I don't like it over cooked. The rude waiter scoffed that of course the lamb is served medium rare and if a restaurant serves it any other way I should find another restaurant. Well I guess I need to find another restaurant, as the lamb was barely pink - totally over cooked. The flavor was good, but the lamb was over cooked. Ordered the cheese plate for desert, as I love all sorts of cheeses... but not these. How can a restaurant mess up a cheese plate - there is no cooking involved! But they did!!! Either the cheese had no flavor at all or was very salty. The prior night we ate at a wonderful little cafe, where I had anti pasta for 12 euro as my first course. It was piled with all sorts of lovely cheeses and meats, and I loved each one. This 30 euro cheese plate only had 3 different cheeses and just a tiny bit of each, plus a few slices of fruit. All three cheese were awful, so we didn't even finish the meager amount on the plate - par for the course at this place. My friends has similar experiences with the dishes they ordered. We had planed to order the tasting menu, but once we arrived we learned that everyone at the table had to select the same dishes. Given our different likes and food allergies, this was not possible, so we ordered the courses we wanted. The others at my table also disliked their selections. This was by far the worst Michelin star restaurant I have ever encountered, it was dreadful. We are extremely bewildered as to how this restaurant has a star. It was not even close to the lovely cafes we ate at the rest of our time in Rome, and 4 times the cost. Save your money, eat at the street side cafes and have yourself a wonderful meal instead of the trash served here. In fact, after 3 uneatable courses at All'Oro we were hungry, so we went to a cafe to have some good food.

Working on your bid? |
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted. |
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from? |
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered? |
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
Does support work ?
I am having a tough time contacting and elucidating a response from AT Support. I had a listing at 6pm, which was a mistake as the actual listing reservation was at 11pm. This got somehow approved by AT, and a customer bought this from me for 6pm. I want to cancel this listing and refund customer , but there is no way of doing this ! This is so frustrating and making me lose hope on AT. Can someone help me please?

Banned from Resy for selling reservations- Do we have a rat on our hands???
I am new to this app and started off by selling a polo bar reservation and then quickly sold one more reservation. Not long after I received emails from Resy saying all my reservations are cancelled and I am being banned from Resy for life. How could this have possibly happened without a rat telling Resy that I sold the reservation. I need some advice on this situation and let’s catch the rat!
Give the best answerBid and Buy Instantly
I have a big ongoing and it also shows someone is working on my bid. Today I see there is a " Buy Instantly " option at my portfolio showing same price I've bid for a reservation. I'm a bit confused, since my money has already been deducted from my credit card for the bid, do I need to pay one more time for the Buy Instantly? If I choose Buy Instantly, can I cancel my bid ( while someone is working on it )? Thanks!
