Beautiful restaurant in Verdun with amiable service.
Our food arrived very quickly. The ambiance was amazing. The food was a let down. We had carbonara pasta and Lia Pizza. Pasta was well cooked but it was way too salty. Pizza was soggy due to the tomato sauce, the ingredients were better, and the crust were super burnt. We did notify the waiter about it. Overall, the experience was fun but the food was below average and overpriced.
Be the first to ReplyGreat ambiance.
Got 2 pizzas and both were excellent. Also got the affogato for dessert which I recommend as it was a light dessert but still very tasty. Portion size was just right, even a little much but I finished the whole plate.

Exquisite and delicious! It is probably the best Italian food I've had in North America. Some of the recipes are family recipes going back generations and the innovative part is that some sauces and methods are adapted to new creations. The soup of the day was absolutely perfect. Try the daily creations that the waiter will present to you. We were looking for dishes with light sauces so as to keep it light for the evening. We were absolutely surprised on how perfectly balanced these dishes were. Absolutely perfect. This restaurant is in the Verdun neighborhood, a little bit away from the center of town in a quiet and enchanting neighborhood. The restaurant is relatively new with a great Caleb M. Principe and family atmosphere. You will not be disappointed!

Wow. This is the first time in awhile where I've been impressed with both the atmosphere and every single dish ordered as a first visit. It's a hidden gem as it's a bit further out from the tourist hubs. The beef tartare was the best I've ever had -- and I've tried many. Most beef tartares taste too beef-y and are just bland overall - this was multi dimensional and different textures with the focaccia. The clam/seafood pasta and pizza were delicious. The caesar salad was one of the best ceasar salads I've ever had and I consider myself a caesar aficionado :) I make it a point to try it at almost every restaurant that offers it on the menu. The anchovies were subtle (not pungent like most) and almost creamy. Everything was well done - from appetizers to main courses to dessert. Such a dreamy dinner.

3.5 stars Great dough for their pizza, great topings. Quite pricey for my liking and i am not full after a pizza.the pasta portion was extremely small as well. Was pretty good the pasta though
Be the first to ReplyThe staff was really friendly .
Everything we ordered was great . We started off with Caesar salads. We order 3 appetizers Meat balls , Beef Tartare and coquettes .. Meatball were juicy and had an amazing sauce that had a little kick to them. For our main course we decide to share a BTL pizza which was very tasty and light . We also shared the seafood spaghetti. The seafood was cooked perfectly. The service and food was amazing. Rita is a sure Hit . We will be back !
Be the first to ReplyDecent pizza and pasta in verdun.
We tried 3 different kinds of pizzas and a pasta and they were all pretty good. The pizzas had a lot of toppings inside and the pasta was al dente. You can also add their chili oil if you like it spicy. The service is quick and the guys are pretty nice. The place has several tables and the inside is very clean.

Pretty cool little spot that's close to home :) I was surprised to see so many people here on a Thursday it was a mixed crown old and young but very loud. Our waiter was friendly and came around a lot during the night. I did notice they try to get you to buy drinks a lot they just grab ur cup and say another ? I'll let you know if I want one you don't need to try to up sell me on drinks. Buratta was good but not as good as La Verita in the West Island I could probably get a better one at Costco. I'm only saying that as it didn't come with any reductions or maybe sun dried tomatoes just salt and pepper with some great bread. Meat balls were good again nothing out of this world. The Aranchini isn't served with tomato sauce which I found pretty strange. My main was okay the paste was a little undercooked and there was a lot of corn but they did make up for it with the huge amount of cheese they put on the pasta. Fresh cracked pepper for the pasta is a must they should walk around and offer it or at least cheese like every Italian joint. Perhaps some oils for the pizzas as well spice things up a bit
Be the first to ReplyRita is a new addition to the Verdun sector since September
Rita is a new addition to the Verdun sector since September 2018. Mainly focusing on local ingredients, produce and wine, their team aim to serve Italian food with a seasonal menu. High ceilings and big windows, Rita's atmosphere will make you feel like in an little upscale restaurant without feeling too pretentious. As an appetizer, we had black sea bass served with salsa verde, jalapeño, crème fraîche, raspberry and orange zeste. Unfortunately all three of us, can agree that the raw sea bass itself was too tough and smelled a little fishy. Not completely terrible in my opinion but not good enough for me to order it again. Price: $17.00 Second dish was Caponata, a dish served with an oven roasted eggplant topped with pine nuts. A dish leaving me completely "meh" and in my opinion not special enough. Something I'm sure most of us can replicate at home. Price: $13.00 If you all know me, I'm a sucker for carbs. Potatoes, pasta, bread- name it and I'm all in. What gives Rita a little more credit is that the pasta is all prepared and made in house. We ordered the Agnolotti, served with stracciatella, cauliflowers, anchovies, garlic calabrese pepper, walnuts and Grana Padano cheese. Price: $25.00 Additionally, Joey d'Alleva and his team have been working on special dough recipe which required a 72 hour fermentation period. The Williamsburg pizza was probably my favourite dish out of all the pick. Topped with marinated zucchini, homemade ricotta, provolone and smoked mozzarella and Pecorino cheese. Price: $21.00 Rita is a beautifully designed restaurant with high ceilings and big window but unfortunately it didn't blow my mind. My favourite pasta still belong to Mckiernan, Beatrice and Elena. I will have my very first visit at Moccione this Saturday, so we'll see where this battle of pasta will go. For pizza? You'll always see me request extra truffle and extra prosciutto at Il Focolaio (Pizza #74). What was your impression of Rita?

OMG. Pasta and Pizza lovers : here is your paradise. Great food. Great space. Amazing wine selection (if you are into new world/organic stuff). Ok, it's a little pricey for the neighbourhood but.... still worth it. Great spot for either a date or a casual meal. Loved the service. We were sitting at the bar, served by Nicolas. He knows his products well. Was impressed by his level of professionalism. Congrats!
