Rodney’s Oyster House Toronto Reviews from The Last Year
Food was delicious! I especially loved the lobster roll.
Also loved the plating, which was perfect for sharing.

We had an absolute blast at Rodney's Oyster Bar during our visit to Toronto! From the moment we arrived, Gillian, now our favorite hostess, greeted us warmly and helped us choose some incredible dishes. Our waiter Juan was delightful, and the food was outstanding. The Chili Corn Crab Soup was delicious, and the Lime Pie was an absolute must-try. Confession... the Lime Pie was so good we came back the second night just to sit at the bar, enjoy more pie (no sharing this time!), and sip on a glass of champagne. Nick at the bar made our evening entertaining and fun, especially as we cheered on the Leafs. His recommendations for what to do in Toronto during our first visit were spot on. Rodney's is a must-visit for anyone looking for fantastic food and a welcoming atmosphere in Toronto!

I had such an amazing experience! From the host to each server/bartender I interacted with, I was greeted with such a welcoming environment. I got the oysters and lobster roll and both were absolutely phenomenal. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for great seafood and friendly staff!

Food was fantastic! We got the tower of seafood and it was amazing. During my 3 day trip to Canada, I ate there three times. Service was amazing. I sat at the bar each time and they were friendly and knowledgeable about the various oysters. I tried all they offered. Ambiance the place itself is inviting and cozy with a bit of whimsy. I loved it.
Celebrated my best friends birthday here.
We had a blast. Food was awesome, our server was so much fun. Such a great spot to come with friends. Also had a live band that was great. They serve big ass shots.
Great evening at Rodney's with Cord as our server.
He chose the best oysters for us and did a great presentation our other seafood options as well. We have been going to Rodney's for over 30 years in its various locations and we have never been disappointed. Come for the oysters, yes, and then enjoy the ambiance as well!
The oysters were so fresh and delicious.
I highly recommend Rodney's oyster house for anyone into fresh quality seafood

Came for a team dinner and it was fantastic! Fresh seafood, generous portions and great service! Really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. The scallop pasta was delicious and the lobster salad sandwich was tasty. Would come again and try their oysters!
What a delicious dinner! I'm a huge seafood lover so I
What a delicious dinner! I'm a huge seafood lover so I regret not having discovered Rodney's earlier. We ordered a number of dishes and were absolutely satisfied and stuffed by the end. Raw bar = They had a good selection of raw shellfish (east & west coast oysters, clams, and periwinkles/sea snails) so I ordered a couple of oysters and clams. Everything was very fresh and I particularly enjoyed their house sauce called "Seawitch Seafood Sauce". It was the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. New England Clam Chowder = The flavor was tasty and it had a good amount of diced clams, however I think I would've preferred if it were a thicker and creamier chowder. Seafood Stew = This was a very large portion, probably better for sharing, and was a tomato-based stew with rice, shrimp, and the most delicious mussels. Sea Fry = Fantastic portions with a variety of fried seafood including shrimp, white fish, scallop, and calamari, garnished with plantain chips and puffed corn. The aioli on the side was a tasty pairing. Seafood Pasta = Delicious, don't get me wrong, but probably should be renamed as Scallop Pasta because that's what it was. 5 large pieces of grilled scallop on a bed of creamy butternut squash pasta with mushrooms. Definitely the "heavier" dish of the night that I had to take home. Onion Rings = These were extra thick rings that were delightfully crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Very delicious! Overall, the food was excellent and service was great. I will definitely be coming back in the future and I'll be sure to get a large order of their mussels next time!

I have a friend who insists on coming to Rodney's every time he is in town. We've had some good and bad experiences here, but over the years I'd say more good than bad, and in fact the last time we were here it was just incredible. James was an absolute treat to have as a server. It's a bit on the pricier side, but you can absolutely tell that the seafood is fresh, fresh, fresh. I like that they have a little bit of everything so if you're not a seafood fan, there's still things you can eat.

Went with my wife and our 13-year old daughter, expecting to have some nice oysters and have a casual and enjoyable dinner. We saw they had Alaskan King Crab, and coming from a landlocked part of the United States with limited experience of 'fine dining', we had no idea how expensive it would be. Apparently prices were listed by the pound, at about $120 or so Canadian. We are by no means wealthy, but we thought we'd splurge the $120 on a giant crab to celebrate a rare trip abroad. But then the nightmare began. We asked for our check and were stunned to see a bill of $1300! We got hosed! The server never told us the total cost of the crab when we ordered it, and she left her shift before we were done, which seemed weird. When we started asking the next server about it, a lady serving the adjacent table made some inappropriate and rude, condescending comments under her breadth about how we were basically stupid to think it would be that cheap (at pound price rather than total). She then disappeared, and when we asked to speak to the manager, our server told us that it had been that lady and that she wouldn't come speak to us about it! I think what they did was not only immoral, but I'm pretty sure illegal not to disclose the full price of something listed as "market price". Looking at their website later, it says most king crabs average in the $500 range. We would have never ordered something at that price either, but it again speaks to the immorality of serving us something that costs $1000 without any disclosure! To be clear, this place is very informal. I have never spent anywhere near that kind of money on a meal, but if I had, it certainly wouldn't have been at a cheap looking place like Rodney's! We were shocked and stunned and didn't know what to do in the moment, and they were pressuring us just to pay the bill and 'F' off, so we put it on a credit card and left, fuming. I would have rather spent that kind of money on plane tickets to Mexico, to say the least, or maybe just to help with the mortgage. This was a humiliating experience. Caveat emptor to anyone who chooses to come to this establishment. I would stay clear of it if I were you!
one of my favourite seafood places in town.
great value for freshest oysters, fish & octopus! Not a fancy place but it's the go-to place if you'd like to have a treat of sea's offerings. Staffs are friendly and efficient, overall very satisfied

I did not find the restaurant loud at all, perhaps there is a night of live entertainment and this wasn't it? Service was warm. Presentation is generally simple and rustic. Prices are very high presumably because of the high cost of fresh shellfish, I paid $225 Canadian with tip for my solo dinner (about $170 American). My oysters were extremely salty and metallic, maybe my bad for getting all Atlantic oysters? Sauces were a letdown. Certainly a pleasant place to satisfy your seafood craving but you will pay for the privilege.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Can come from a lot of places, people who don't want to get charged their cancellation fee or people who just have them and cant go.

almost all restaurants aren't affiliated with AT and I'm guessing it's mostly people wanting to not pay cancellation fees.
