Love this place! Is very cute and welcoming Food is delicious & affordable. The staff is very friendly. 10/10!
The food and service are absolutely outstanding.
The servings are huge, and the setting is cozy and a bit romantic. Great place for fun with friends or date night.

Introduction: I came here for a group lunch under the recommendation of a friend; at the end of the meal, we were all glad we took his advice. Food: Sofreh plate with the addition of Gyros: We were a party of five and the Sofreh plate alone was more than enough to satisfy our hunger: the plate contained chicken kabobs, lamb chops, beef lule etc. along with a big plate of basmanti rice on the side. When the food came, the whole presentation looked like something one would see on a food documentary: it was a feast that spread beautifully on our table. My friends and I were in awe with how generous the portions were. I've had my share of Mediterranean food but none could match Sofreh's level of culinary execution. The meats: the chicken kabobs, the beef lule, and the gyros, all had their distinct inherent flavors aside from the flavors that were imparted by the spices/seasonings. I especially enjoyed the beef lule because the meat was tender and succulent. The gyros were the best I've had to date in Los Angeles: it was tender, flavorful, wholesome, and there was a smoothness to its texture that was absent in other gyros I've had over the years at other Mediterranean restaurants. Drinks: Turkish coffee: The Turkish coffee was good in the sense the brew was clean, smooth, and without any astringency. Dessert: Baklava: I love a good baklava especially if it were stuffed with walnuts as opposed to pistachios. Fortunately, the baklava at Sofreh was the former variety which was a plus in my book. The baklava's texture was smooth and wholesome and its sweetness delicate with each bite. It complemented the Turkish coffee perfectly. Ambiance: Casual, clean, relaxing, and classy. Service: The proprietor was welcoming, cordial, attentive, and warm. Price: Affordable and reasonable.
I was looking for a Mediterranean spot to cater my sons
I was looking for a Mediterranean spot to cater my sons birthday party and was recommended to Sofreh by my co-workers. I am beyond happy with the communication, service and food. It exceeded my expectations and I couldn't be more happy. Nick, thank you so much for making my sons day special.

This is a really cool place for Mediterranean in the heart
This is a really cool place for Mediterranean in the heart of "East Los". Tasty, reasonably priced and cute little patio. Everyone from the counter person to the server to the owner, all were kind efficient and engaging. We had been there a few times and it has been good but gets better every time.
Fresh, inspired use of spices and citrus
Sofreh is my new favorite restaurant. I started with the roasted cauliflower, which had a tangy tomato-chili glaze. The first bite seemed a little too spicy but then the yogurt base and the bright quick-pickled red onions and carrot shavings tempered the spice. This was a great start to the meal along with a sour cherry cooler (refreshing, non-alcoholic and not too sweet). I could not decide between the half chicken or beef stew -- so I ordered both, figuring I'd have dinner covered for the next couple of days. The stew -- OMG. Beef slow-braised with dried Persian limes. I'd never tasted anything like this. The lime added a subtle, clear undertone that was fantastic. The perfectly cooked chicken had a velvety sauce of apricot and ginger with little flecks of dried orange peel that added tiny sparks of flavor. I ended with the cardamom rose cake with whipped yogurt. I am a whipped cream junkie so I was thinking to myself that the yogurt would be too thick or too sour -- but I was wrong. It was like a nice cross between creme fraiche and a light frosting. And the cake was delicate and subtle and gorgeous, with a nice, moist crumb. An ideal ending to a perfect meal. Finally, I appreciated the service and attention. When I dine alone, I sometimes feel invisible -- like the staff sees a woman dining alone as less important. At Sofreh, the staff was attentive and friendly and part of the fun of eating here. Can't wait to return.

Wow!! This establishment was amazing!! The food was out of this world delicious. My daughter - whom I'm visiting and hadn't seen in several years - recommended this place and I can see why. The supreme fries were incredible, as was the chicken shawarma plate. Even the presentation was impressive. The portions were generous so now I have delicious leftovers to polish off later. And the staff was extremely nice and attentive. I hope my daughter doesn't move any time soon because next time I visit we're definitely going here again!

This place was sooo good! Great prices and ambiance was awesome! Excellent service! If you are in the area and want great food check this place out!
I came here with my fiance a couple of months ago.
One of the best Mediterranean/persian food I have had around this area. My fiance had the shawarma combo and I had the shish kabob combo. Both were delicious. I wasn't even hungry when I came but I ate the whole plate. Although the plates are $20+, it was so worth it. The plates were packed and the flavors on point. The owner Angelica was so nice & sweet. She went out of her way to go grab her jacket and put it over my shoulder as a blanket because it was raining that day we went and sitting is only outdoors. She also gave us baklava (also delicious) at the end of eating on the house. Come support this local gem! Pro: Food- speaks for itself, very fresh and flavorful Ambience- cutest decorated outdoor patio area Service-Angelica the owner is so sweet Cons: Parking- this is a bit of a struggle, no lots but can find parking in the neighborhood/street nearby I love the cute outdoor patio but beware of rainy days (I'd to-go the food next time) since it's only outdoor seating
A Brooklyn Gem.
A Brooklyn Gem. A Foodie Experience with a peaceful atmosphere. Though a small restaurant with limited seating, the food and the ambiance makes it feel big and welcoming. Please start with the Cauliflower and Mushroom Appetizers, Shiraz Salad and the Catch of Day-Sea Bass with Saffron Rice. The Rice Pudding and Herbal Tea are great endings. Enjoy!
Blah Persian
We dined here when the place opened years ago and weren't impressed. We just went back for a second try and feel the same. The roast cabbage was tough and flavorless. The cauliflower steak undercooked with a heavy- handed sauce. Date and lentil rice was fine as was the noodle " ash" stew ..Best thing was the meatball appetizer. But honestly, beats us why this place is so popular. We won't bother to try it again.
Call it Persian or Iranian- it's Unique
This place has gotten a lot of publicity - it is a mixed bag from my perspective. First of all, it's so noisy we could hardly hear each other and for a high end expensive dinner that really detracts from the ambiance. Persian food is an acquired taste- complex cooking and seasoning. I was personally disappointed that the duck wasn't on the menu. That being said, dinner was delicious- I just think it's being over-hyped.
Definitely worth a visit
The food was mostly very authentic and tasty. The service was very good. The person who attended to us was very friendly and professional. Some of the dishes we found it a bit pricy. For example, the Dried Lime Beef stew (Ghormeh sabzi) and Fesenjan Special dishes each cost $36 and did not include the rice in the price. (The rice was an additional $8.) These dishes don't make sense without the rice, so charging extra for the rice was surprising to me. We tried 3 appetizers, two mains, and 3 desserts. I (the Iranian-American) liked everything. My American partner liked almost everything. I was pleasantly surprised that the Fesenjoon dish came with meat balls not chicken. Chicken is more common (and easier to make) but with meatballs is how my mother and grandmother made it. So thank you to whoever made this choice. You made my day! My partner didn't love the raisins in the zucchini fritter. I didn't mind the raisins, but at $18, I felt it was a bit overpriced. The best dish of all, was the humble Saffron Rice Pudding. It tasted authentic and was priced reasonably. We both liked it. (The fact that both an American and an Iranian-American liked it, says something.) Unfortunately, it's possible to have a feast at Sofreh and not learn the name of a single Persian dish because they're not provided in English. This is a huge lost opportunity to educate food lovers. This is because the Persian names of the dishes are only written in Persian letters but not provided on the menu using English transcriptions, so non-Persian-speakers can't learn the actual names unless they ask. So for example, I was wondering what Dried Lime Beef stew was on the online menu because the word "Ghormeh sabzi" is not provided. The restaurant menu includes "Ghormeh sabzi" in Persian letters for those who can read it. The posters in the upstairs restroom were a study in Iranian culture in the 70's. You'll get an idea why there was a revolution in 1979 by inspecting the movie posters alone. Tips: Try the following dishes if you want to claim having tried most of the standard dishes made in Persian kitchens: Eggplant & Whey Dip (kashke bademjoon) Vegetable noodle Ash (aash reshteh) Dried Lime Beef stew (Ghormeh sabzi) Basmati Rice Fesenjan
It’s perfect to dine here
Foods perfect. Environment great. Looks like there is a food designer spent hours designing the taste combination & food decoration. The owner must be in love of cuisine
Amazing food
Not only great food but also very different ambiance. This very classy restaurant is breaking all the middle Eastern & Persian food mentalities. Make sure to book before going. Must visit

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.

Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it? |
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid? |
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted. |
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from? |
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered? |
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
Newbie sellers— how fast do your reservations sell?
I have some reservations coming up tomorrow that have gotten lots of views but haven’t sold yet. I haven’t made a sale yet since I just joined this week. I keep lowering the price, but am worried they won’t sell. How long did it take you to sell your first reservations? And did you have success being reimbursed by AT for no-show or cancellation fees? Just looking for a little reassurance. Thanks!

I posted a request for a reservation this Thursday between 6:30 and 8 pm and initially the potential seller said it would be fulfilled by today. Now they changed it that they will only fulfill it by 5pm that same day. Basically I would have an hour and a half to get to the restaurant. Is this allowed?

This app is a catfish and overrun by people programming “bots” and algorithms. It makes it frustrating for someone not well versed in this to have any movement. I thought this would be a fun side hustle, but unfortunately it’s become like any other “side hustle”. Don’t waste your time with this crap. Not a question, just a suggestion. Also don’t pay these fake “gurus” hundreds of dollars to teach you. Might as well sign up for a software class. 😕
