Review of hotel and restaurant
Sixth floor restaurant review- fantastic menu, food and service. Generous portions and very tasty. Good views over the Arts District and to DTLA. Note house policy of no photos. Sixth floor club area review - full of people officing for the day using laptops but no phonecalls. Didnt feel like a relaxed hangout - super super quiet. Good service though and lots of plug points. Hotel review- Very friendly and courteous staff. No snobbery. Positives - I was staying in a Big Room which lived up to the description. Emperor bed, enormous walk in shower, tub, dining table for six. Typical Soho House / Ned fit out for mini bar and Cowshed/SKIN bathroom products. No dry cleaning on Sundays but Wash and Fold service every day. Room service from 7am. Negatives - Rooms facing Santa Fe are subject traffic noise. Also for whatever reason I had super hot water first night then only had tepid water in the room on the next two days. Engineering apparently informed .

Downtown LA location for SoHo House. Came here for dinner and a DJ event afterwards. The vibes are chill and the food was tasty. The three of us split the spicy salami pizza, the pasta, crudo, eggplant dip with a balloony bread similar to the one at Bavel, truffle fries, and had drinks as well. They still served me a matcha latte for dinner which made me very happy. Loved the eggplant dip and the pizza was on point as always. We left dinner feeling stuffed and satisfied. Our waiter was nice and we enjoyed a leisurely meal. There’s a rooftop with a pool and a pretty view of the skyline. The art in the lounge was really cool. Valet parking available.

Excellent food and service. Had the Chicken Kabobs w/Orzo - asked for and received , at no extra charge, Greek rather than House Salad. The only thing that needs correction is that the plate was small so all the wonderful food was crowded. Cutting a kabob or the overly large chunks of the salad's tomato threatened to push food off the other side of the plate. The baklava, too, wasn't bite sized and hard to cut. Nevertheless, all was beautifully seasoned and prepared and, if you're lucky, you'll be seated in Meaghan's section - a thoughtful, interested and intelligent server who takes the initiative in assuring your satisfaction.

The hotel is in an up and coming part of DTLA. So watch this space in the years to come. Also means that if you are a tourist and want to explore various parts of LA, this isn’t the most convenient location. As with every other SH, the building is nice, the people are hip/trendy/cool. The rooms are well appointed with nice amenities. The shower was oversized. The drinks and food served are great. Also Mandolin restaurant was super. The gym is huge and there is a nice rooftop pool. We travelled with minor age kids, so as always at SH bear in mind they have limited access to the facilities (eg pool till appx noon in weekends and 5pm on weekdays) The only thing they need to work on is noise/sound isolation. Even with earplugs, we had pretty bad nights; or it’s the music from the rooftop; or it’s the monster trucks fueling up right across the street or it’s the people (very) early morning arranging the tables and chairs in the house kitchen…noisy and loud it is. Also, when dining at Mandolin, if you sit against the walls of SH you’ll hear the people in the gym dropping their weights - quite a bang every few moments.
