Somewhere Nowhere NYC - Lounge, Nightclub & Rooftop Pool New York Reviews from The Last Year
not worth the price
Cons: 1/Rooms are really small and dark with little sunlight 2/TV had glitches 3/Did not deliver utensils to room after confirming that they will. 3/Baggage handler is running his own taxi hustle and interfered with our Uber ride 4/Rooftop bar is usually closed to hotel guests but the hotel website makes you believe that it is available. Pros: Close to subway stops, but that is probably true for all hotels in Manhattan.
Great Nee York Stay
Great location. The ambience is incredible and the customer service is amazing. From my room, I even had a view of the Statue of Liberty. Wonderful hotel if you are traveling as a family. Lots of food options and shopping options in walking distance. Great adjacency to 5th Ave
Cocktails were on point, and the barstaff was super
Cocktails were on point, and the barstaff was super attentive given the busy crowd that night. The most notable perks are the ample amount of natural light and huge ceilings, especially for being this high up. When the weather gets a bit abysmal, it loses its value pretty quickly. The only real drawback was how narrow and tight the space was. It was awesome to see our nonprofit churn our a huge following, but claustrophobia (and the aggressive shoulder bumping) grew tired fast.
Overall it was a good experience, food was mediocre.
Service was very good, friendly, and fast. Views were very nice and the igloo experience was fun that came with Alexa music, champagne, blankets, etc. It was fun but I felt it was an experience I wouldn't repeat again soon.
This is such a cute place for a date.
I would say come during the week for a more intimate time. There is also food!
Exceptional Hosts
We have been staying at the Renaissance Chelsea since it opened 4 years ago. The former management team was lovely and now we are fortunate to have Paul, Phoenix and others as our gracious hosts whenever in NYC. We are Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite Lifetime Members and are always treated the the utmost care and kindness. I can't imagine wanting to stay anywhere else! We highly recommend staying at the Renaissance Chelsea!
I am forced to write a review about the terrible experience
I am forced to write a review about the terrible experience I had it somewhere nowhere this previous weekend celebrating a friend's 22nd birthday. Regardless of the music or even the atmosphere, the bouncers were awfully terrible. I had went downstairs to go meet up with some friends who had trouble getting in for a reason I was not informed of and because I had spoke with them I was kicked out. I had asked why I was getting kicked out and they had told me it was because I was supposedly trying to sneak them in. After explaining for about an hour that it was not the case I had been all alone in NYC at 1am alone while the rest of my friends were inside. After an hour of waiting alone two of my friends came downstairs to speak with me and because of that they were kicked out as well. We had all pay to get in here and had a table and they completely ruined your night. They had no room for listening or understanding that they could have misunderstood, and it was completely disgraceful. I will never attend this bar again and make sure to spread the word about the disrespect there bouncers have.
Thumbs down for me.
I don't go out clubbing much because I'm an introvert. My first experience was definitely a bad one. I would have rather stayed home and played my Xbox.
If I could give this place 0 stars.
.. I would. I went during Halloween and it was crowded. I'm gonna start off by saying that the staff is racist. While trying to enter with a promoters name my friends and I had to wait a long time on the side to be approved to come in (they waited for the promoter to come out) while other people that came AFTER US barley even said a name and got to walk right in. This already left a bad taste in our mouths and we were hesitant about even staying. Despite this the racist behavior continued inside. If you are a person of color, this place is not welcoming at all! I wish I looked at other reviews of this place before going because they were all telling the truth! Take your business elsewhere !!
Our new favorite NYC hotel
Fantastic stay with 2 rooms at this location. Great check in experience, two modern/clean rooms on a low floor , accommodating staff, and a cute lobby bar. Gym is small but has everything you need to get in a workout. Location is also great. Less than ten minutes minute walk from the 7th Ave side of Penn Station. Lots of parking lots near by as well. We had the full breakfast Buffett and it was above average for a Marriott Buffett and the staff (including Charlie) was gracious and accommodating. We concur with the other reviews about getting a lower floor (at least on the weekends) due to the roof top club. We overheard several folks who were staying on the 34th floor who said they heard the music until 4am Overall great experience and we will be back !
I loved the atmosphere.
I came here for drinks and dinner with a friend. The food is pricey but we had a good time. I came in the winter. We wanted to get the igloos but they were already booked. The rooftop was enclosed for the winter but we still had a great view of the city. I loved the vibe. It wasn't crowded yet so we felt real comfortable.
Poor customer service from staff.
Our room had a great view and was clean and comfortable. Bathroom shower head did not work properly. Overall my experience was average due to the staff. My friends and I were waiting in the lobby for an Uber late night and was basically harassed by the lobby security. Instead of asking what room I was staying in they they assumed we were attending the onsite club, and were threatening to kick us out for hanging in the lobby. Also at check in I was asked if I wanted a late check out at 1pm, and said yes, and then received a call from the front desk asking why we did not check out at 12pm. I think that hotel management needs to reevaluate their customer service standards. I would not stay here again due to this experience.
Arrived around 11pm on a Sunday Night, bouncer wanted to
Arrived around 11pm on a Sunday Night, bouncer wanted to charge my friend & I $150 bar tab each. As it was so late we had already been out drinking we weren't sure we'd be able to drink that much more. Went to TAO instead where the cover was $30 each.
Ideal location for what we needed.
This hotel embraces the Renaissance Discoverer vibe that we look for. The hotel staff is attentive and friendly. The hotel facility is clean. Our room was the standard sized room, but we were on a corner that allowed for great views of the Empire State and the river. The breakfast was standard fair, the service made the morning. A coffee bar in the lobby with pastries for a grab and go opportunity. Located in Chelsea and 2 blocks from the F line trains we were able to get about rather easily. It is a 30 block walk to Midtown and the Theatre district, The area had a good vibe, we went to an outdoor flea market, there is a supermarket across the street and 2 Bros Pizza for that late night fix. We will stay here again on a return to NYC.
Chic in Midtown
We stayed here for six nights. Perfect location in Midtown Manhattan and about a 10 minute walk from Penn Station. Steps away from restaurants, cafés, and a supermarket. As with other Renaissance hotels, the atmosphere is upbeat and chic. If you’re an elite member expecting a full breakfast, you may want to make other plans. They do offer a continental breakfast, with limited items. I was offered a room towards the top floor, however, I was advised by hotel staff there could be noise from the nightclub. I decided to take a room on one of the lower floors. Beautiful property. Highly recommended if you’re considering.
Stay far away from here, management does not care about
Stay far away from here, management does not care about customer safety or experience. They will try to add additional charges to your bill (and went as far as charging us for strangers that were never in our party). Had to call the cops and they said this establishment is practicing UNLAWFUL measures to stuff their bottom lines. Go anywhere else
Don't go.
The whole place is a scam. Bouncers are rude and stealthy. we tried to go for my friends 25th birthday - a smaller group (4 girls + 1 guy) and immediately were told the only option was a $750 bottle service. This was strategic, seeing that there was one guy. The guy, the boyfriend of the birthday girl mind you- offered to go home and have the girls stay. The bouncer proceeded to tell us it would be a $200 minimum for us 4 girls. the bouncer seemingly began to negotiate a deal with the guy so that he could come too. Then he leaves , and comes back now stating that the only option is the $750 bottle service- the whole time it was a complete lead on. Then the other bouncer said "the hot girls pay".
Excellent Hotel
I stayed here in July 2021 when the hotel first opened, and stayed again this past weekend. I really like this hotel. The front desk staff, especially Jessica, is always friendly and welcoming. I really like the cool hanging chairs in the lobby. I had a quesadilla at the restaurant and enjoyed it. I had a corner room on the 32nd floor with an excellent view of Midtown. I love the design of this hotel - very artistic/floral among many aspects. Also the location is great.
Hip and Comfortable in Chelsea
We stayed at the Renaissance Hotel in Chelsea for two nights in early December to celebrate our anniversary. The location is great, close to subways, near many restaurants and perfect for seeing the city's sites both uptown and downtown. We were able to check in early - thanks Renaissance! - and welcomed by a very friendly and courteous front desk staff. Our room was NY-style cosy with a vibe that's both comfortable and hip. Bedding is perfect for a good night's sleep. The breakfast buffet is serviceable, complete and convenient - attended to by a friendly staff (cappuccino anyone?). Our checkout time was extended which was greatly appreciated. An excellent way to extend a very nice stay in the big Apple!
Extraordinary service & beautiful room!
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we felt warmly welcomed and taken care of! What great friendly and service minded staff! Shout out to Phoenix in the reception for exceptional hospitality!!!

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Can come from a lot of places, people who don't want to get charged their cancellation fee or people who just have them and cant go.

almost all restaurants aren't affiliated with AT and I'm guessing it's mostly people wanting to not pay cancellation fees.
