Soothr New York Reviews from The Last Year
Worth all the hype.
The drinks are majestic and tasty. The curry is so good it'll make rice haters eat all their rice. And the service is personable and sweet. What more can you ask for? The ambiance is not that of the swanky modern asian-fusion restaurants that flood Manhattan, but is more old school casual with little pops of color and subtle decoration. The tables aren't boring brown pieces of wood but are colored burgundy with pretty painted patterns. Another plus: fun blue cups. You can tell the owners are intentional with everything. Our server had the aura of a warm hug from your sweet Asian Auntie. She was happy to give recommendations on her favorite dishes from each section of the menu (noodles/curry/appetizers) and made sure to check in on us from time to time. My friend and I decided to take her suggestions and we were not disappointed. Since my friend and I came for lunch, we had a pork meatball complimentary appetizer which was a perfect way to start the meal. We also couldn't resist the beautiful cocktails and got a Rose Quartz and Jade cocktail. The Rose Quartz was fruity, floral, and refreshing compared to the Jade cocktail which was a creamy, earthy, and almost soothing. The Panang Lychee Curry is a delicious sweet and savory burst of umami with tender and succulent pieces of duck. The Kong Karee is equally as flavorful and the two curries together pair well together (kong karee leans savory and panang lychee leans sweet). The curries were so good that I ate all my rice (and I never eat all my rice!). I also think the rice tasted really good as well. I'm usually not in the mood for Thai food, but knowing Thai food can taste this good I'll definitely be in the mood more often. Soothr is now, hands down, my favorite Thai spot.
soothr lived up to the hype.
super cute (albeit pretty cramped) space and great, fast service, delicious drinks and DELICIOUS food. one thing to be aware of is they do not really do substitutions / modifications (e.g., i couldn't do chicken pad thai, they only serve it with shrimp) but there are so many options that it's not the end of the world. if you can get a reservation, definitely snag it.

This was my second time and seriously can't get enough! So delicious! We had a reservation and were seated promptly. There was a line outside for those who were walk-ins. The table was a little tight right near the entry way but we were fine with it. Highly recommend the Khao Soi. We had ordered the Khao Soi, Masamun curry and a couple other dishes. The Khao Soi tastes so authentic, as if we're having it in Thailand, so delish! The cocktails, service and ambience were great too!
Extremely good food and the service was quick.
I swear the fuck rolls came out as soon as we ordered them. We ordered the crab fried rice, which came with lots of lump crab, and we asked for recommendations, to which the waiter immediately said the duck lychee masaman curry. We also got a noodle dish. I highly recommend the duck lychee curry. It's spicy, fatty, sweet, in all of the perfect ways. It's a great place to come with friends. We also shared a bottle of wine which was reasonably priced. Cute aesthetic but wouldn't call it romantic! Loved it

Thai restaurant that has some outstanding dishes as well as some less exciting ones. The chicken khao soi is delicious - creamy, flavorful and noodles that are perfectly cooked. Pad thai - they killed it. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, noodles were extremely flavorful, no complaints. The pad see ew was mediocre though, the three of us chose not to eat it. The flavor really didn't match any of the other dishes. Their desserts were okay, nothing to write home about. Mango sticky rice had more of a stewed mango with mango sorbet and I think traditional mango sticky rice is better. Their Thai iced tea dessert also didn't particularly work - it's basically a gelato sandwich with rice on the bottom. Beware - you probably need a reservation to come here and you are only allowed 90 minutes to dine.

A very very good Thai spot in the city, albeit not my favorite though and may be slightly overrated compared to less popular Thai spots. Soothr is a Michelin Guide spot that has been on my list for a loooong time and I finally had the chance to go. We got the Jeeb Dumplings to start, which is honestly basically a really good Shu Mai dumpling, nothing crazy or unique. The crab fried rice was aromatic and pleasant, with the flavor coming through with each bite, but to be honest I've had crab fried rice just as good if not better elsewhere, primarily back in California before I became a Yelp legend / reviewed my food. Come here for the Khao Soi, actually a top 3 noodle dish in the city. Crispy fried noodles with soft regular egg noodles soak up a creamy, spicy, sweet, tangy, awesome curry sauce. Comforting, filling, and amazing curry soaks into the noodles and is paired with a moist chicken that has a slightly crispy skin, making it one of the best homely meals I've had in a while. Overall, great spot, but not the best Thai in the city. Mitr Thai still holds that spot for me but Soothr definitely has got some good stuff going and I could see myself come back to try their other items, maybe the more mainstream ones like Pad See-Ew or Pad Thai. Service was great as well, despite how busy the place was the servers were attentive and even box up the food leftover for you themselves!
This was so fun! I love Thai food and had heard excellent
This was so fun! I love Thai food and had heard excellent things. It was a lot easier to make a lunch reservation than a dinner reservation. Opted for the lunch special plus appetizers. Lunch special includes choice of two types of appetizers (veggie dumplings were OK). But I LOVED my entree. Khao Soi Sai Ua, Northern style Thai curry with spicy Thai pork sausage and Thai basil, served with crispy egg noodles. Texturally amazing. Definitely spicy. So flavorful. If I came back, I'd try for a dinner reservation and to come with a group of 4 to try more things. There are so many dishes on the menu that sounded amazing.
Make sure to make a reservation on Resy for this place.
It's super popular so it definitely gets really crowded around dinner time. We ordered the below dishes and they were really good. Definitely really spicy as well so something to keep in mind. The ambiance is pretty chill and it's also romantic enough for dates. The service was great, our waiter was really attentive and patient. I recommend coming here to try it but definitely make sure to make a reservation ahead of time.

Ordered delivery and was told that it would be at my apartment by 8:30. It is still not ready an hour later. Have not tried the food yet but hope I'll be able to at some point tonight. They won't answer their phone either.
Good service and yummy food.
Good ambience and interior design, would come here again.
Exceptional Thai food
Such excellent food, incredible welcoming and cozy (but bustling vibe), and super friendly service (our waitress, Louis, was exceptional - so attentive and knowledgable). Everything we ordered was so delicious. Truly no complaints. An exceptional restaurant all around! I recommend all sharing and trying many things.
Similar to the previous times... excellent!
This is our third experience here at Soothr, and like the first, it was excellent. Our party of 5 made a reservation a week in advance. We arrived 30 minutes early and were seated almost immediately. The host/waitress were very friendly and offered lots of suggestions. We ordered five dishes and appetizers to share. Our dishes (Moo Dang Puff, Lek Kua Muek, Stewed Beef Noodle Soup, Stewed Beef and Roasted Vegetable Masamun Curry, Crab Fried Rice, and Lychee Rose Sorbet ) came out fast, and the taste was fantastic. We will return when in NYC again.
Delightful authentic Thai dining
Not disappointed and very pleasant dining experience. Since so many of my favorite Thai restaurants closed in last few years from Hell’s Kitchen Restaurant Row and a local restaurant that i used to bring all out of town guests, it’s been difficult to find authentic Thai that I am accustomed to for years. Even popular ones that others rave about didn’t do it for me. Today, once again I am so pleased with Sootr. The beef pad see ew was tender (good beef unlike many Thai restaurants substitute with lesser quality beef), the crab curry noodle sauce was spot on and absolutely divine. Decent crab fried rice (best one is Fish Cheeks). $8 expensive but good Thai ice tea. They ran out of their famous mango sticky rice dessert.
Fun with friends
Came here with good friends, had a very pleasant dinner. Food is good, service was good; dined in the garden area in back which was quite nice.

We got the crab fried rice here and it was so tasty.
My wife enjoyed their specialty cocktails. Everything was so fresh and tasty. We love this restaurant!
So freakin good! I could eat here twice a week.
The flavors and presentation as well as service are fantastic. Great vibe too at the bar area.
The food was FREAKING FANTASTIC.
I have no pics because I was too tired, it was too cramped, and it was very loud. But the food was spectacular. We had different types of curry noodles, crab fried rice, and tons of other stuff. Best Thai food I've ever had. Except for in Thailand.
Really yummy Thai place that specializes in more noodle
Really yummy Thai place that specializes in more noodle dishes than other places. Arrived there at 5 pm on a Wednesday with no reservation for 5 and we were able to get a table outside. It's pretty crowded so I recommend reservations. We got the duck noodles, khao soi chicken, koong karee, and crab fried rice (not pictured) which are their most popular dishes. Everything was super flavorful, and I enjoyed mixing the Koong Karee with the fried rice! Khao soi chicken was super tender and juicy. It was savory and sweet with a hint of lime! The duck noodles were my favorite; I enjoyed their house gravy and super tender duck. I never had this type of dish before in Thai cuisine. The Koong Karee had a decent amount of shrimp and huge amount of curry. It's not spicy at all and is very creamy and not as thick! I would come back here to try their other Thai dishes
So glad I came back! I had an emailed, confirmed
So glad I came back! I had an emailed, confirmed reservation of 7 people. They are strict on the Only Seating with Completed Parties - they must have counted my group about 3x. We were seated in a pretty cramped table but it turned out okay. The recommendations from the staff are truly good - the Hoi Johr dumplings have shrimp, pork, grab and sticky rice and come with a sweet sauce. ($14 for 4 pieces) I got the Amethyst cocktail which was very pretty and quite strong. ($21) The highlight was truly the seared pork green curry ($26) and the Karee Pu noodles ($30) which when thoroughly mixed together, the crab meat and curry and noodles have you grabbing a spoon to get every last bite! The spice builds up but still isn't too bad, the flavor is worth it.
One of my favorite Thai restaurants in NYC.
Dishes are unique and leave me craving it even after I leave. Koong karee: 10/10 Dry Sukhothai noodles: 10/10 Duck egg rolls: 8/10 (more woodear than duck) Duck noodles: 7/10 (a bit one dimensional, but if you like a sweet glaze over the duck with sweet soy sauce with a hint of fried garlic, this might be for you) Had yai chicken: 8/10 solid fried chicken without all that breading. All cocktails are incredible! Service: efficient, attentive Ambiance: Loud and lively.
Quite good food and service
We were a party of 7 with a reservation at 8 PM. On arrival we were seated right away. Service by Peary P was outstanding. We shared 8 dishes and all were really good. The kitchen was fast and we easily finished our meal in the 90 minutes allocated.

This place is so good! They also have very creative and tasty cocktails. We got the duck noodles, shrimp egg curry, eggplant salad, and seafood Tom Yum soup. The duck noodle and the eggplant salads are my favorite dishes. These are both must get items from the extensive menu. The shrimp egg curry is also very good. I probably would not get the Tom Yum soup again since it's a bit too acidic and you can tell they probably just use a fix of frozen seafood in the soup. It didn't taste as fresh.

4.5/5 Khao Soi 4/5 Koong Karee 4/5 Crab Fried Rice 4/5 Tom Yum 3/5 (complimentary) Veggie Dumplings and Meatballs
Excellent food.
Brings back memories of visit to Thailand. Simple yet elegant decor. Service was a little slow but food well worth it.

I have been a follower of this restaurant ever since they opened during COVID and no one would go there (oh how the times have changed!). So happy to see their spectacular success. I keep going back and forth with some other amazing entries in the neighborhood like Pranakhon, but this is almost certainly my favorite Thai food in the city. Such unique and delicious flavors, solid ingredients, awesome drinks. not to mention always excellent service whether dining in or take out. Fun ambiance also. Anyone who tries it through me raves about it. So happy to live nearby and now trying to become a regular at Sappe too (their sister restaurant).

Food was pretty good but every entree came out at different times so it was not ideal for our 4 person party. They are very strict on their 1 hour 15 min table limit so we were kicked out super quick. Smells weird coming in too? And tables were packed like sardines in the back per NYC style.
Lovely spot, fanatic food.
Can't wait to keep going back. I've been twice and each time was a treat. Incredible flavor in each dish. Service was friendly and prompt.
So good
I went to this place on a Saturday night and the wait time was 45 minutes for a party of four. The ambiance was nice but they tried to cram as many tables as they could into a small space. The service was excellent. We had a really nice, attentive server. The food was delicious but the portion sizes were a bit small for four people. We all left satisfied but not full, which was a good thing.
Thai tradition with NYC charm 🍜🌆
What a great spot! Soothr was a combination of traditional Thai food and NYC charm. The menu was great with all the usual Thai favourites. We shared a number of courses across prawn, duck green curry, pork noddles, spring rolls and the steamed buns. Services was really good and was mega quick… recommend you book as they have queues right down the street. They also have Singha beer so you can wash everything down with a cold Thai beer! The cocktail menu was also very good and they were able to modify these to make cocktails.
Absolute excellent
We enjoyed this place so much last year we came back for a second try. Duck green curry, Stewed Beef and Roasted Vegetable Masamun Curry, dumplings all great…..in fact it’s all good. It’s popular and crowded so book as early as you can. Not to be missed.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!
Worked flawlessly!
Worked so well! I was a bit nervous, but everything went very smoothly. purchased the reservation, and got into the restaurant seamlessly.
Love this app!
So glad I came across this app :)
Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal
So easy and had a prime time which I can never seem to get on normal res apps. So worth it
Got impossible NYC res
instead of waiting weeks I got my 4 charles reservation instantly
Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??
Tune into NBC News - Top Story Tonight 7:40p ET
Let’s go. Get more people placing bids!
I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
