Ah-mazing. The short rib ragu was so hearty and full and the pork beef ragu was so delicate and light. Both amazing, truly!! The bread was bad. Both the soft and hard breads.

I hate to leave a bad review but I unfortunately did not

2/5 by 👻 @Brianna P. on 07/20/2024

I hate to leave a bad review but I unfortunately did not have a good experience. This was supposedly one of the best pastas in seattle but it was just okay. I might be too picky but I was expecting a lot (coming from LA/NYC) but definitely not worth the price. I think what bothered us the most was the service. We made a reservation and one of us took awhile because of parking. They just stood our party up when there were empty tables (can see from outside). We were told that the fourth person won't be able to sit down with us if we go ahead and sit down. What kind of policy is ..that? Go somewhere else please

We arrived on a Sunday around 6:30PM to no wait and was

4/5 by 👻 @Linda H. on 07/03/2024

We arrived on a Sunday around 6:30PM to no wait and was seated immediately! I was surprised because I was not able to get reservations when I checked a week prior (also put myself on the notify list). My coworker had recommended this place so I was looking forward to dining here. The star of the show was the tajarin con burro e salvia (fine hand-cut egg yolk pasta with cultured butter and sage) -- so simple yet so good and reminiscent of the pasta in Italy, I wanted more! I initially liked the tajarin al ragu (fine hand-cut egg yolk pasta with pork and beef ragù) but slowly got sick of it. Pasta portion sizes can be compared to a baseball and softball. It may look small when it first comes out, but the full portion is surprisingly big. We were given complementary bread with huge slices, biggest loaf of bread I've gotten at a restaurant. We unfortunately were not able to finish it but it was so good. I regret not using it to soak up the pasta sauce. Service was great as we were constantly checked in on. I also liked that we were able to see them make the pasta in house.

First time there.

Tried the brown butter sage pasta based on several recommendations from friends. Must have been an off night. I tasted no sage or cheese. It was just buttery and bland. The ragu was far more savory. We had all the appetizers and all were good. The panda cotta dessert was very nice too. Service was great.

We have been wanting to dine here for awhile, but

4/5 by 👻 @Green A. on 06/22/2024

We have been wanting to dine here for awhile, but reservations are always so hard to find! We booked about a month in advance to finally try Spinasse. The interior is super romantic and trendy - it feels pretty intimate and cozy. The service was really good - our waitress was very kind and offered good suggestions! For appetizer, we got the sampler (antipasto misto), which was pretty fun to try 4 different appetizers. I really loved the hazelnut topped artichokes - I usually don't even like artichokes but the flavor was so interesting and hazelnut really complemented the dish well. We also liked the spring peas. The pork one somehow tasted like tuna salad - it was still good but interesting because we were sure it was tuna salad haha For the mains, we ordered half size of tajarin with butter & sage, half size of truffle risotto, and a full size of tajarin al ragu. That was probably too much food for 2 people oops! Spinasse has the reputation for having the best pasta so our expectations were high. I think both of the tajarins were very good, but they are almost too different from normal pasta that I can't even compare these to other pasta dishes I had. Normally, I like thicker pasta that are cooked al dente. These are egg noodles that are super soft and thin. They are still delicious, but I think if you're expecting traditional pasta, you may be surprised. I'm glad we got a half portion of the butter one because although it was super flavorful and creamy, it's quite heavy and decadent that it might be hard to eat a lot of. Our server recommended the risotto, and I normally never get the risotto, but decided to try here. I honestly loved it even more than the pasta! The truffle cream sauce and the egg yolk just created a perfectly creamy and umami flavor and the texture of the risotto was also on point! But honestly the best thing we had here that we keep talking about after months is their olive oil... Pro tip: ask for olive oil when they bring you complimentary bread! They don't bring it unless you ask for it, but when you do ask, they give you a really generous amount of olive oil and that. was. Amazing!! Even though we had so much other food, we had to finish all the bread to soak up that olive oil! Overall, this is a nice date night restaurant with great food, although definitely on the pricey side! I think you should come here for their unique dishes and not expecting traditional Italian pasta.

Highly anticipated this dining experience at this

5/5 by 👻 @Sarah L. on 06/19/2024

Highly anticipated this dining experience at this restaurant, we even made reservations a month in advance which was the recommended thing to do based on yelp reviews! The service and food were impeccable, 10/10. The pastas was super unique, and unlike anything we had ever had -- thin, soft, and perfectly textured. We ordered their top-selling dishes: tajarin al ragu and tajarin con burro e salvia. So glad to have tried!

5/5 by 👻 @LoriLee B. on 06/17/2024

We ate at Spinasse tonight and it was so much more than we expected. The food and service were spectacular. We watched Duke make cavatelli while our table was set. The chef's starters were lovely. We sampled the prosciutto, English peas and whipped ricotta, and baby artichokes and could have made a meal of just those things! We ordered the butter and sage pasta and the cavatelli with morel mushroom ragu and both were oh-so-rich and delicious. The sautéed asparagus was a nice foil to the lavish pastas. Joshua, our server, was friendly, attentive, and professional and made the whole experience that much more enjoyable. We will be back!

Went for my wife's birthday, meal and service were both top

5/5 by 👻 @Angel D. on 06/15/2024

Went for my wife's birthday, meal and service were both top notch. Tajarin con burro e salvia was so light and delicious, and a type of pasta that we hadn't really had before. Usually we have heavier pastas such as ravioli, but this was delicious. To go along with it we had the ribeye and salmon as well, and both were cooked extremely well. Ribeye had the fat cut off, which I can appreciate. Overall the restaurant was beautiful, the food delicious, and the service amazing. We would definitely come back next time we are in the area.

Allison and Alex were absolutely phenomenal! They both were incredibly gracious, attentive, SPEEDY and informative. They went above and beyond, helped get everything we needed before the event and helped to keep it all running so smoothly! It was the most seamless experience I've ever had at a restaurant. I've traveled all over the US and not one other place has come close. This was a memorable experience, Allison is plenty resourceful and she worked so well with our florist in addition to our friends/family. Alex didn't let us forget a single item on our way out --even caught our attention when we forgot. We are so grateful to the staff.

5/5 by 👻 @Chen S. on 03/11/2024

Securing a reservation at this spot is quite challenging, even with a one-month advance booking. However, the effort is absolutely worthwhile! All the noodles are meticulously handmade in-house, cut to hair-width, allowing them to absorb the sauce perfectly. The signature egg noodles boast a delightful buttery flavor, while my personal favorite is the ragu noodle. The fresh bread and tiramisu also complemented the experience beautifully.

We went for our anniversary and a delicious dinner! We tried: - Prosciutto di Parma: we had a half order which was delicious and just enough for two people to share. - Tajarin Con Burro E Salvia: SO GOOD and thehalf order was the perfect size considering we were ordering more food. - Agnolotti: My partner really enjoyed this and we also had a half order. - Braciola Di Maiale: the best pork chop I've had in a while, loved the veggies and sauce as well. - Zuppa Inglese: this resembled something like a lemon tiramisu, the perfect refreshing end to our meal. Overall, 5/5 for wonderful service, romantic and cozy ambiance, and the delicious meal! Would definitely recommend for a nice dinner with a small party.

Everyone is highly professional, giving it that extra class to the restaurant. The food is elegant, flavorful, and delicious - the smaller portions allow you to taste different dishes without being overly full. You're definitely paying for a finer dining experience so take your time here. The space is a little smaller, giving it a homier feeling so you can relax, socialize, and enjoy some fine food and wine. Note: It's expensive, so make sure you budget for a higher price point. It's also in the heart of Cap Hill, so make sure you give yourself extra buffer to find parking, if you're driving in the city.

3/5 by 👻 @Srae R. on 02/16/2024

A pretty server with glasses & short hair asked if we would like still or sparkling water. We said sparkling and she brought a big bottle of Italian mineral water. That felt deceptive, but whatever. We ordered an arugula salad to share and also a "large" pasta dish to share, which was $33. Server said "And what about your main course", as if it was mandatory to order more food. My pal then ordered some wine for us- I think because he felt obligated. Our food was delicious. As other reviews note, pasta portions are small. I could've easily eaten the "large" size by myself and still be hungry. I normally wouldn't bother leaving this review- the food was excellent and they should charge whatever amount- but the service was a little surprising, disappointing.

One of my favorite restaurants in Seattle - I just booked

5/5 by 👻 @Francis B. on 02/15/2024

One of my favorite restaurants in Seattle - I just booked another reservation for my upcoming birthday. I very much enjoy the setting/ambience. It isn't doing too much. The service has always been excellent, with a bit of an old school touch where you feel like you're having a worthwhile experience because the staff actually appreciates you (more than just for the $$ you will spend). The pasta is always fantastic and hits the spot. There are a few rotating seasonal dishes, so make sure to take advantage while they last! It may not or may not be the absolute best pasta dish in Seattle, but it is always my #1 recommended spot. It's great for date night too, but not exclusively. Just make sure you reserve your table well in advance.

So overpriced.

1/5 by 👻 @Stephanie S. on 01/30/2024

The food did not meet my expectations and was so expensive for a bad meal. I did the degustation course dinner. The antipasti/appetizers were good, nice and fresh. After that, everything went downhill. For the primo, we were taken aback when our server basically told us to eat the pasta quickly or else the butter would solidify while we were talking and trying to have a good time. So quickly trying to eat it, it really was just all butter and not nice to eat with the pasta so thin. The ragu pasta was slightly better but the meat was all mush and again the pasta is thin so overall the textures were not great. The cavatelli with duck confit tasted really strange with the mostarda that was so off putting and did not compliment the dish at all. Honestly, the mushroom risotto tasted like vomit and I love mushrooms and I love risotto and this was not it...For the secondi, the fish was burnt and bland - lacking any salt or seasoning. The rabbit meatballs did not taste nice at all and the pancetta ripiena pork was so dry and congealed it was so difficult to eat. Unfortunately, it was our anniversary and probably the worst meal we've ever had for it. Would not recommend.

Food is flavor and Spinesse provides flavors for foodies. Great evening.

5/5 by 👻 @Martin C on 12/04/2023

I am a foodie, cook, wine collector, and hard to please. During a brief visit to Seattle, I discovered Spinesse. This wonderful restaurant is a tough reservation to get, so hopefully you will plan in advance. They do allow walk-ins begining at 5:00. Their specialty is the pasta. This is a must when visiting Spinesse. I specifically suggest the Tajarin Con Burro E. Salvia first. Who knew that something so simple could be so enjoyable. Next, we moved on to the Tajarin Al Ragu, which adds both pork and beef to the Tajarin. Yum. Lastly, the Cavatelli Con Conit D'Anatra was wonderful, but it is a little light on the duck. We are here for the flavors, not to consume mass quantities. Recommended Dolci is the Panna Cotta, Vanilla: panna cotta with toasted walnut butter and grapes. The staff could not have been more pleasant as was the evening. I would recommend Spinesse and will return.

Birthday Dinner Ruined

3/5 by 👻 @diann119 on 09/01/2023

Spinasse was great until they asked us to leave. We were celebrating two birthdays and apparently exceeded our time allocation. It was the way the manager went about it that was humiliating. Rather than a gentle explanation she told me bluntly that we had exceeded our table time and to please leave as soon as possible. We were just about to get up and go anyway so such a shame she ruined our experience. Everything else was fine but why bother when Seattle has so many great restaurants with welcoming customer service?

Double Birthday Celebration

4/5 by 👻 @Diann M on 07/25/2023

We booked this restaurant to celebrate both my 26 year old daughter's birthday and my 62nd birthday tonight. We've been trying to get in at this restaurant for awhile. We had a lovely dinner and spent over $500. Food was good and service was good. Our reservation was at 6:45 and at 9:00, the hostess came to our table to tell us we had to leave as our reservation was over. As my daughter pointed out, we could have spent the night in an expensive Manhattan hotel for a night or flown to any US city for $500 and to have them tell us to leave was insulting. We eat out a lot in Seattle but we won't be returning to Spinasse where they clearly don't value their customers.

In terms of value, I must admit that the overall experience didn't quite justify the high price. While the food itself was excellent, the overall experience may not be worth the long wait and high cost.

Tajarin pasta to die for

5/5 by 👻 @Rosi on 04/08/2023

The only downside of this location is that it takes meticulous planning and a reservation a few weeks in advance if you want a specific date and a dinner time slot earlier than 8-9 pm. Otherwise, it was lovely to be back here. The flavors in the appetizer (kohlrabi salad marinated with anchovy vinaigrette, parmigiano and capers) were subtle and pleasant. The bread was absolutely delicious, although the breadsticks were a tad too dry, which led to a philosophical debate around why pasta and breadsticks always break in more than 1 spot. As for the main... as much as I wanted to be adventurous in my choice, the tajarin is just too darn good to be ignored. And I was glad I went with it - it is a proven recipe for pasta-induced happiness. My dessert of semifredo was expansive (one for the table to share would have easily sufficed) but I especially enjoyed the sesame cookies. Service was very attentive and contributed to the enjoyable evening. It was also fun to discover this place is connected at the hip to the neighboring Artusi. Will explore that next.

Best pasta I've ever had! While planning my trip I was going to go to Pink door but I was reading some reviews and people said Pink Door is a great ambiance and aesthetic but Spinasse has better food, so I chose Spinasse. We made a reservation ahead of time and got seated immediately upon arrival! It was sooooo good, we got the two most popular pastas, the thinly sliced ones that have been on their menu for over 15 years. It was delicious! Both were amazing in their own way, I'm glad we got both and shared! We both got the half plate. It was sooo delicate yet the thin strands were firm. So we'll flavored! The uovo poached egg was delicious with the bread too! Lastly, we got the Brussels sprouts which were well flavored in the sauce! It all felt well balanced and delicious. The service was great too! This is such a fantastic restaurant, such good food and drink. We were a party of four and had a reservation and were seated promptly at the correct time. We order drinks. Two of us ordered the Capella Romano, one paper plane and I don’t remember the other drink. My daughter is vegetarian so she ordered the pasta and Sage entrée and also a kale dish. Also an order of the risotto which was split between two of them. My husband and I ordered the risotto and split this which is a wonderful dish. And then I ordered the Barolo braised beef cheek. My husband ordered the duck leg. The only thing he wishes was it was a little crispier. The meal was fabulous, the food is stupendous. Our waiter Eric was fantastic and I would ask for him again. I will go back to this restaurant anytime I get the chance. But we live far away and don’t get there very often.

5/5 by 👻 @Taylor J. on 03/08/2023

My absolute favorite restaurant in all of Seattle! I've come here two birthdays in a row for dinner and both times were excellent. They provide a small treat ahead of dinner which is consistently a crostini with salted butter and a sardine. I wouldn't typically go for eating sardines but the combo is excellent! We ordered three pasta: butter and sage (full portion), ragu (half portion) and the rabbit dish (full portion). The butter and sage pasta is so thick and creamy. The ragu has a smokier meaty flavor in my opinion. Not sure if there is any sort of tomato sauce as it doesn't taste like it. The rabbit pasta was my favorite thing we ordered. The sauce is heavenly and the fresh Parmesan cheese compliments these bites of heaven well. Tip: save the slices of bread they serve so you can soak up this sauce. As for secondi, we chose the braised beef cheek. My husband said it was the most tender, mouth melting piece of beef he has ever had. The surrounding gravy and purée are an excellent pair.We finished off with the chocolate mousse dessert. Out of everything, this is what we could have gone without if we had to pick. If you like macarons, you will enjoy this as its basically a giant one. Still a good dessert, just not my favorite. We had a chocolate cake last year and that dessert was fantastic.

I was excited to try authentic Italian food in Seattle, but this place was a bit of a letdown - especially for the prices! Also, I let them know that it was my birthday on the reservation and I wasn't expecting anything but the table next to us got a special dessert with candle and I felt like I just got bullied by our waiter for not ordering enough, even though our bill was almost $200 for 2 ppl lol.

This place is so overrated and I don't understand why it has so many good reviews. First, the ambiance is cute for date night until you look up and see all of the water leak stains on the ceiling. The food is so mediocre and boring. The first bite of the pastas were okay and then it got to be too heavy and plain to even finish the whole bowl. The waitress telling us that we should order from each section of the menu which would probably bring your bill to over $250 for two. We also ordered the kale as a side and the kale was just long strands of kale that wasn't cut to bite size portions. This was also just bland and was just steamed kale.

Apparently, a winter special, this is delicious. Tajarin con burro e salvia - Fine pasta with butter and sage. Simple and delicious. Agnolotti Del Plin Di Coniglio - Braided rabbit agnolotti...superb. Secondi:Beef cheeck with celery root puree: Loved itTrout: Also great.Next time, I'm coming back for the the prix fixe "Menu Degustazione" that gets every antipasto, primo, and secondo on the menu.

Rustic, cozy, and the food hits the spot

5/5 by 👻 @mingfatsai on 01/29/2023

Spinasse is a small and cozy establishment on Capitol Hill. It’s been around for some time and with good reason. Many years have passed since we last visited, and the holidays were as good a time as any to see if the magic was still there. Thankfully, this recent experience exceeded my recollections. We started off with the roasted cipollini ripieni. Oh so savory, it was perfect on a cold winter’s night. Next was the antipasto misto della casa. It covered all bases, delivering a splendid cornucopia of flavors. For my pasta dish, I selected the agnolotti del plin di Coniglio. I immersed myself in its rich and comforting flavor and texture. Delightful. For the secondi, I could not pass up one of my favorites, cinghiale. So lovingly executed, I felt I was back in Tuscany. I can honestly say the dining here brought back many fond memories of countryside dining in Italy. Spinasse’s authentic food comes directly from the heart but it is also prepared with the spot-on technique. Satisfaction is guaranteed.

Fantastic

5/5 by 👻 @Marchetti869 on 12/27/2022

We had a bit of difficulty finding the location and parking but it was worth the effort. The atmosphere was rustic, warm and inviting and felt like you were in someone’s large Italian kitchen. Warm wood, candlelight and great smells abound. Everything I've ever had on the menus was fantastic. Their pastas stood out over everything else.

Great food….now move along

3/5 by 👻 @Sean S on 11/15/2022

Five years ago, my wife and I visited Seattle and had an extraordinary experience at Spinasse. When we decided to return to the city for a fun trip, Dinner at Spinasse was an anchor on our itinerary. Unfortunately, they didn’t seem as glad to see us. Our first and second courses arrived simultaneously, before we had even sipped our cocktails. We told our server we would want wine after cocktails, but we had finished our entree before our server even came back to ask about wine. From sit down to appetizer to entree was under 30 minutes. We expected a two hour seating and we’re ready to order more food and drink. I guess they needed the table back. Great food…but we felt rushed and it was far from the dining experience we remembered. Three courses in under an hour sent the signal that they were turning tables. Not the destination experience we expected.

He enjoyed his job and it showed, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Luis knowledge was great and his attitude was top notch - i have and will recommend this place to everyone that will listen. Truly amazing service made the meal taste even better.

Incredible food, poor service

4/5 by 👻 @Simma Nu D on 09/30/2022

The food is wild. Really tasty. The service..... well I very very seldomly tip 10 percent or less but the service was poor. The waiter started by trying to dictate what we should order and was generally uninterested in our experience. But again.... the food was to die for.

Connect with users posting reservations for Spinasse Seattle

AppointmentTrader is a community-driven platform where users can exchange their reservations or leverage their personal relationships with Spinasse Seattle. Buyers can make informed decisions using automated seller ratings, which reflect past transactions and reliability.

Read More on How Seller Track Record and the Bid Process Works Read More Action Icon

Each posting on AppointmentTrader shows you which user submitted it and along with that provides a trackrecord of that user which indicates how much experience the user has and how many percent of their transactions resulted in them issuing a refund.

If there is no user posting that fits your schedule, you can bid on your preferred time.

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Spinasse Seattle at 6 PM the same day.

He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Spinasse Seattle page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.

That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.

Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.

Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.

2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* MaternalRecord73, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* MaternalRecord73 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to MaternalRecord73 for any questions Peter may have as MaternalRecord73 user fills the bid.

3.) Finding the Reservation
* MaternalRecord73 now uses their connections at Spinasse Seattle to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If MaternalRecord73 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.

4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, MaternalRecord73 receives the $200 reward which is credited to MaternalRecord73's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Spinasse Seattle!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
