I have visited a few times and the service has always been excellent as it was this time. I don't knock places when they falter, it is a tough business. We all have our off days. On this very recent visit Stanley's felt a little tired and lacking in a little finesse. I couldn't fault the food which was all delicious. I also fully understand they cannot always accommodate every diners request. One of our party asked if they had plain, peas any type or tender-stem broccoli, green beans, soya beans, peppers (bell or Padron) or even cucumber. They didn't. It would then have been a thoughtful gesture to put a cracker/biscuit on her saucer with her coffee as she ate nothing. Hey ho. She would have settled for a Lotus biscuit! Our cocktails were fantastic. Passion Fruit Martini and a Tidal Mojito. Cods roe starter and the Secret Smokehouse Salmon delicious. The menu is short but makes up for it in the ingenious combinations of flavours in every quirky dish. We shared the sea bream with warm greens and new potatoes and loved it. Perfection. Interestingly the warm green salad came with sugar snap peas ! Pity it wasn't mentioned when we were listing the vegetables. We enjoyed our meal, previous visits have felt more accommodating and professional so perhaps they can take this little note on board. We will return (with our own biscuits, for the fussy eater)!
