STK Steakhouse Denver Reviews from The Last Year

I mean what can I say?! It's STK! Not my first go round as I go to several steak houses. However I loved the layout and ambiance! My bartender was making these drinks that had me just WOOOOOOOOOO! The Wagyu meatballs were amazing. No steak today as I had wings not even 40 min before but I wanted to come here and see how this location was. Great music, my god my food, swear they were ON IT! it was like I placed my order, not even 6 min it came out. **** was quicker than McDonald's! lol . Definitely give this place a go. The unchained passion drink.... That thing will sneak up on you! Tread carefully. I never fall asleep in Lyfts but I certainly did back to my suite. lol
Great food and atmosphere.
We were skeptical of taking our 11-&13 year old boys on a Friday evening do to the upper scale look of the place, but when we were sat the DJ started playing some great jams and we steered to enjoy the place even more. DJ rocked the music and the boys, wife and myself love it the whole time. Appetizers were great and so was the drinks. Food was even better and fast even though it was packed in the restaurant. It would be worth the wait even if the food took longer to come out so to the music and drinks being so good. We could of just hung out and jammed the whole time but we were done and we knew people were waiting to be sat for dinner. All staff that helped us was professional about the job they were doing. We will definitely be back but will bring others with to enjoy the place. Great job guys.
I loved the food here! Also great service.
My friends and I were here for my birthday. I'll come again for sure.

So...made a reservation a month ago only to be seated in the bar with a tiny table....my husband order Prime Rib...and he got shoe leather....my friends order the Delmonico and they got a piece of meat that looked and tasted like liver.... Our waiter Mitchell was the only bright spot in this $600 dinner that I wouldn't serve my dog. I have been on Yelp and Open Table for 5plus years and have never written a bad review until now. Not only was the hostess an absolute "B" the food was the worst I have ever had. DO NOT EAT HERE!!! Go anywhere but here.

I love that this place serves great steak, with prices that warrant it, while at the same time keeping those of us on a budget in mind. Their 9 dollar for burger and chips is a HUGE deal. The burger is HUGE. Don't waste your time with McDonalds or Wendys or even 5 guys. This burger is better and 9 bucks vs 20 at 5 guys.

We came here for a friend's birthday dinner on 3/8 for a large reservation. They had recently done away with their valet service, so I was dropped off while my husband went to find parking because the garage directly next to STK was totally full unless you had one of the paid reserved spots. It was packed, as expected for a Friday night. The ambiance was very much a club vibe- very fun, upbeat, but very crowded at the host stand. We were check in and taken to their semi-private dining room that we learned would host two other large parties at the same time as ours. The service here was phenomenal- our servers, food runners, everyone was top notch. It was a busy Friday night so it was a little slow, but we had no issues with the service. Shoddy (I am not sure if that's how to spell her name) suggested a great mocktail for my husband and I as we do not drink alcohol during Lent. We ordered three things- two mocktails, and the seafood tower. The seafood "tower" was a metal ice tray on a stand. Visually, it was definitely lack luster for the most expensive (non alcohol related) item on their menu. The actual fresh seafood consisted of half a lobster tail, one lobster claw, 6 oysters, and a few shrimp. There were three bowls with various seafood "salads" like clams, mussels, and crab salad. Their ceviche was really good as the centerpiece of the tray! The seafood itself was tasty, but that's not where the one star comes from. We went straight home, driving about 45 minutes north from downtown Denver when my husband became ill while driving. He told me as we exited the restaurant that he wasn't feeling very well. He became sick and we had to pull over to avoid any traffic altercations and I drove the rest of the way. Unfortunately I awoke around midnight that night violently ill as well, clearly some kind of food poisoning that had a delayed reaction to my system. The next morning, I called STK when they opened for brunch service and spoke to Maria, who went to grab the on duty manager for me, and Sarah picked up the line. I explained the situation, and Sarah informed me that she was not in fact a manager, but that there was not one available and she would take down my name and number and someone would get back to me. I waited what I thought was the appropriate time for a response, so now my only suggestion is don't order the seafood tower or the mocktails. This place has a fun vibe, and it's very expensive. It's possibly one of the most expensive "steak" house style restaurants I have been too, compared to Shanahans, Del Friscos, etc. I thank our servers that evening for taking such great care of our large group, and I am disappointed in management.
Food was grossly overpriced for the quality.
So many other options at this price point that are much better such as Capital Grill on Larimer. Service was great but did not make up for poor quality.
The food we ordered was horribly over priced.
Crab cake was the worst I have ever had. They put a glob of chopped crab on a plate and called it a crab cake. Tuna tar tar was a cup of guacamole with a few chunks of tuna. 2 beers, 2 glasses of wine, and 2 mediocre (at best) appetizers and I spent over $200. I will never go back.
Hey there! I had an amazing dining experience at STK
Hey there! I had an amazing dining experience at STK restaurant and felt compelled to share my positive review. The ambiance was charming, the service was top-notch, the food was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend trying it out sometime!
I was pleasantly surprised with my experience at STK.
I would even go as far as to say if you are in visiting Denver this would be a great spot to visit. The ambiance in the evening is wonderful, it gives a chill vibe while also maintaining an upbeat atmosphere. The wait staff was very attentive however our waiter was inattentive to our specific table. Had the serve been kinder on his end It would have perfected the experience. The food was overall great. Everything was seasoned to perfection and for the most part cooked to perfection as well. Food was obviously fresh and good quality. My steak was chewy which was unfortunate because I wanted the main course to be as good as the sides. The drinks!! Mixed to perfection and I will definitely be back for their happy hour! My biggest complaint would be that the food is generally overpriced. For the prices I would expect top notch service and impeccable foods. You pay for the ambience.
ALEX WAS AMAZING
so fun!! the birthday drinks 🍹 we awesome and our service Alex was incredible. She made our night super special and we will be returning!
STK-Denver excels in every aspect. It's leader of the pack in LoDo
Most of my reviews for TripAdvisor are lengthy compared with other reviewers. But not in the current case of STK-Denver. There's no aspect of the dining experience that doesn't shine. Not the elegant yet playful decor, such as poster-size sayings; e.g., "Leave the pressure at work." Not the greeting by top-pro servers (ours was Ryan) who happily opine on menu items. And most especially, not the food and drink, and in particular, the steaks ... although all of the accompanying sides, sauces, and extras are equal to the task of perfectly complementing the STeaKs of STK. It's not cheap; nor should it be. My wife and I racked up $315, but that included apps, mains, sides, four drinks, decadent dessert, taxes, fees, and generous (and deserved) tip. Denver's LoDo district has a half dozen or so excellent steakhouses; for me, STK is leader of the pack.
Utterly Disappointed!
If you’re looking for ambiance, free shots, and a DJ for entertainment one evening this is your place! If you’re looking for a great steak, seek elsewhere! My husband and I ordered the dry-aged tomahawk, medium rare, and it was tough with no flavor for $163. We make better steaks at home, and TX Roadhouse could give them a run for their money! The bacon mac and cheese was just ok. The brussel sprouts were the best things going. The cheesecake was pretty good. That was the only tasty part of the meal. My husband had the oysters, and they were super small. My friend ordered the crab cake and said it was good. She ordered the filet, and the kitchen cooked it incorrectly, they cooked another one, but by the time she received it, we were ready to leave. Over $400 down the drain! I will not return!
Left after waiting 30 min for a table -had a reservation -seated at a bar
Loved STL in Scottsdale so made a reservation. Parking $20—steaks start at $60–waited and finally seated in a bar high table—loud music—stayed 10 min and left. Lesson learned.
Gaudy Instagram steakhouse, not worth it
I hated this place. If a Tiktoker who knew nothing about food opened a steakhouse, it would be this place. It’s gaudy, tacky, and wannabe Eurotrash. The food was mediocre and my steak was dry, cooked to the wrong temp, and burnt on the outside. They also sat us at the bar when we reserved a standard table… who eats a steak at a crappy high top at 7:00 at night (I.e. not happy hour). Overpriced. Most of the staff was pretentious and rude. Absolutely never going back.
Very Dissapointing
Our team is at a show in Denver this week. We had heard good things about STK and went here for dinner. I don't know if we caught them on a bad night or what, but we waited 3 hours for food. people came and went while we were waiting. after all that, the food was really subpar. not terrible, but certainly not what you would expect at this level of restaurant. one of my co-workers said that his fillet was the worst he had ever had. very disappointing - and because of the extreme wait time, we missed appointments with valued partners later that evening. they did end up comping our meal - which was appreciated, but the overall experience made me never want to go to another STK again.
Five star fine dining!
This place is awesome! Great Atmosphere- ambience and the staff is top notch! The GM Neil Von Moxon was attentive from the moment we walked in. We noticed how engaging he was with all the guests and seemed to make everyone feel special. From the moment you arrive, the valets, bartenders Brittany and Taylor, floor manager Daniel, Alex the busser, and our gregarious and entertaining server Thomas, made our anniversary extra special. Everyone was very friendly and engaging. You can tell making customers happy is their main priority. The drinks, Calamari, Halibut fish and chips, Short ribs, and chocolate chip cookie dessert were all great! It's the place to see and be seen! Highly recommend! We will be back!
WOW: The best Steakhouse in Denver!!!!!
This was our very 1st time to a STK restaurant. The food and service was OUTSTANDING. We just moved form Las Vegas to Denver. Our waiter's name was Ryan. Ryan was just outstanding. He attended to our every need. Ryan was one of the top waiters I have ever encountered. The general manager, Neil MOXON came up to our table several times to make sure that we we having a memorable evening. Ryan and Neil made us feel so special. They made this night a "night to remember". We now have a top steakhouse to go to in Denver. We can't wait to eat there again. Thank you so much Ryan and Neil.
EXTREMELY EXPENSUVE
If you're on a corporate function with an unlimited budget. Go for it. Our server tried everything in his power to get us add, add add to our drinks. appetizer and main course. What's wrong with the meat, if it has to be smothered? Stakes should stand on their own, especially when you are paying $51.00 - $120 plus per serving. Salads were good, but twice an average price. Drinks were good, but not worth the price. Service was very good, except after waiting over 30 minutes for my charge card to come back, I was told their system was down. A company of this size should have built in back up system. The noise/music level was "very" high. Hard to talk most of the time. My first experience and probably my last for STK.
STK Denver: Superb Service with Excellent Food
Ryan D actually markedly enhanced our experience. We enjoyed happy hour appetizers due to his prompt attention. The wagyu meatballs were superb as were the short rib quesadillas. My daughter had a delicious filet while I had well prepared, delicious sea bass. The mushrooms were not very tasty, but the bread made up for them. We had an excellent experience.

Prepaid Reservation Fee

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
