Superiority Burger New York Reviews from The Last Year
Exploitation
Told and read that this trendy place is difficult to get in, when I arrived Monday evening (cold weather) it was half empty. Nevertheless, brusque receptionist would not let me sit at a table but directed me to the bar in the "REAR RIGHT" to wait for companions, so my standing waiting wouldn't be in way of incoming flow (of which there was none). When the last arrived 15 minutes later my preferred booth was still vacant. Cocktails $17; can of hard cider dropped on table as server whizzed by $10; had to ask for glass. Open face vegetable mix burger with tons of shredded iceberg lettuce is served on a small oval plate so its sub-optimal size not so obvious, and without a salad, pickle or fries ($18). his burger establishment does not offer fries -- how perverse is that??? Ketchup, asked for, arrived in a tiny cup. To compensate for the mini-portion, we shared two exorbitantly priced desserts ($16 each). The peanut butter pie was frozen whipped cream flavored with p. butter on a thin choc cookie shell, the choc cake had mousse between layers; both were downsized to laughable slivers of a triangle. The room is a smallish dark wood and dimly lit cozy place but the exorbitant prices and server attitudes suggest they think it is the Plaza and doing you a favor to let you be swindled by these high prices for deficient portions. Will other diners return, or are they coasting on advance buzz? Will be interesting to see in six months if their hostility toward patrons has sustained this establishment.
Bad Experience caused by misleading photos
I found the photos in the press and look good. There is “non vegan” on the menu and some of the description have. One. We believed the “burger” should be made of beef… I have no problem with the $14 become $17 a burger only a few months ago. The problem is clarification needed for customers. And the bean-paste burger is much smaller than in the press. I know it has many followers, but this one not for me. Cheap ingredients and charges you arm and legs. NYC? East Village? There are dozens of restaurants much better…
Brunch Tray yes, Veggie Burger no
In the new location on Avenue A, the service was efficient, thank you servers! Brunch tray for $26.00 was a pretty good value, with several items on the tray, each with interesting tastes and textures. $17.00 Superiority veggie burger (more like a slider) was laughably tiny and just okay. Michelin Guide says it's a good value for the price but this burger does not represent that.
Note new address. 119 Ave A
We went because of the favorable review in The NY Times. The best way to get seated without a wait s to arrive between 5, when it opens, and 6. There are about 58 seats. The block is perfectly safe, although one person will ask you, politely, for spare change. The food is all vegetarian and is, or can be made, vegan. For $40 before tax and tip, we got: Collard green sandwich- too salty for me Burnt broccoli salad Okra on rice and corn. There are many more sides I would try.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Can come from a lot of places, people who don't want to get charged their cancellation fee or people who just have them and cant go.

almost all restaurants aren't affiliated with AT and I'm guessing it's mostly people wanting to not pay cancellation fees.
