Sushi Kashiba Seattle Reviews
Stopped by on a Friday night with last minute reservations.
Love that I can decide to eat here and there are tables within an hour of searching. I got the table omakase and the food was meh. The appetizer was a miss, hand roll was great, egg palate cleanser was interesting, and sushi was solid. Nothing to w
Absolute perfection in every bite.

As I was moving away from Seattle, one of the quintessential experiences that I had not experienced yet was dining at Sushi Kashiba and so there I was, lining up on a Monday at 4:30PM to wait for omakase. I was the first in line and me and my partner
This was our special treat and first time trying Omakase.
We were thoroughly impressed with the food, how fresh and tasty all the fish were. The 4 of us were assigned one chef. He was awesome with describing the fish and accommodating for one of us who was gluten-free. Our favorites were the salmon belly an

We highly highly recommend Sushi Kashiba, not only because of their top-notch sushi but also their outstanding outstanding customer service. Sushi Kashiba in our opinion, it's the best sushi restaurant in the U.S., even better than many in Tokyo
Sushi Kashiba is truly a Seattle treasure.
For over 50 years, Chef Kashiba has been perfecting his craft, and it shows in every bite. As a three time James Beard Award nominee for Outstanding Chef, his reputation speaks for itself, but it's the experience here that really makes it unforg

Yes, it's pricey--let's just get that out of the way.
But honestly, I do think the quality matches the cost. If your goal is to load up on rolls and eat your body weight in sushi, this probably isn't the spot. But if you're here for the omakase experience, thoughtful service, and beautifully e
Got to meet Shiro.
He was so cool. Also the food was fantastic. Definitely the best sushi place I have ever been to
I'm not sure where to start.
I promised the wife 1/2 the trips up to the PNW we will do something different. I'm not a fish person (sushi in Santa Cruz is spicy tuna). 21 courses of nigiri. Our chef was engaging and pretty funny. We were wondering how old he was. Seat
Outstanding in every respect.
Shiro-san is a legend! Sushi is incredible. Worth every penny.
Tourists trap.
Poor quality and sub par service. Forced into omakase menu and was unsatisfactory
Did I accidentally walk into Tokyo?
We were fortunate enough to have Chef himself at our table, and it was an incredible experience. It’s hard to believe he’s 84 years old. Every dish was fresh and flavorful, but the standout was the live shrimp. You get to eat the fried head! Owen
Sushi at Pike place
Just by Pike place market. A nice classy sushi restaurant. They have 2 set menus and a la carte, and we chose the $130 Peak menu. After a small radish appetiser, about 12 small pieces of sushi followed. Then finish with the egg. Simple and overpriced
the most extraordinary sushi you will ever eat
If you can afford it, you will never have better sushi than what is served at Sushi Kashiba. We couldn't get reservations (we were only in town for a few days, and didn't plan that far ahead), so we followed advice we found online -- arrive
Bravo!
We were there for our anniversary dinner, first time in Seattle. Immediately, we felt welcomed and spoiled. Brandon was amazing, explaining everything in detail with professionalism and humor. The Omakase chef's selection was off the charts, (th
Seattle has lost touch.
Good food! Typical stuffy, unfriendly service around the downtown area. Classy is built on professional, friendly service. Seattle has lost touch with who they are, and who they’re not!
Not to be missed
Chef Kashiba is a true master, no detail is left unturned at this establishment. I was visiting on a business trip and my client said if we wanted the best sushi this place was it and he wasn’t wrong. Upon entering the staff was very friendly and
Heavenly Sushi
We had an omakase which included 21 "courses - 19 of which were sushi (+ soup and Agedashi tofu). Sushi included one toro hand roll and two 'deserts' - sweet tamago and crispened sweet eel (sublime). Pacific salmon was in season so m
Sushi when in Seattle
Wonderfully fresh sushi. Dined here in Aug 2024 and had the chef’s omakase at the sushi bar. The highlight for me was the super incredibly tasty uni, and the live botan ebi. The geoduck was a unique offering that was also quite tasty. Believe t

Been here for a la carte sushi and also the omakase which I always have enjoyed. It's SO good. I love the miso grilled fish and the omakase is a great selection. I do think that it's a bit more pricier than Shiros and very similar to the point where

Wonderful service and some of the freshest sushi! Sushi Kashiba did not disappoint. The staff were incredibly attentive and kind. We enjoyed the variety of this omakase and it was the perfect dinner for a special occasion. :)
Once a year we're here to celebrate his straight A year.
This year was another epic visit. Have never had the privilege of Jirosan preparing our sushi, but have seen him for others at the sushi bar. How awesome is it to see the actual celeb chef involved in the day to day and overseeing his disciples?! N

Portion, Selection and the Itamae's descriptions were all disappointing. When we go to a sushi restaurant, we are looking for Umami, freshness, subtlety and textural contrast, but we only found bits and pieces of each. We both felt that about 25% of
Excellent Dinner
My wife and I lucked out and got a reservation for 7:15 on the same day. We had the option of eating at the counter or at a table. We were tempted to do the omakase dinner at the counter but opted for a table as we wanted to order a few hot dishes.

Best Japanese restaurant in Seattle
Best Japanese restaurant I’ve ever been to. Excellent menu, excellent service, delicious & surprising tastes. The dishware is hand made from Japan. The food is fresh and elegant in its display.
Second time here tonight.
Not as great an experience as the first time, perhaps because I decided to do a la carte instead of the Omakase or the Peak. Nigiri were excellent. Had the tempura which was great! No grated radish though, and when I asked for some, it was a teeny ti

I was pretty disappointed with Sushi Kashiba's food given the almost $400 price tag for two people (without drinks). I'm sure the fish was very high quality but a lot of it tasted bland. Some of the choices, like the clam nigiri, were questionable
