Delicious Fresh Food At A Reasonable Price
Delicious Japanese food at a reasonable price, especially lunchtime. Sushi very fresh. Service friendly and efficient. A gem that keeps me coming back for more!

I had a table reserved in OPEN TABLE on December 24. Arriving at the scheduled time a waiter told me they had decided to close earlier than day. Neither previous notice nor any consideration. After such lack of respect maybe better not to try their food.

Watch out: Regular Omakasa is $80. It's not in the menu. One would assume that of mini coast $30, the regular will be $40, $50 tops. But they take advantage of price not being announced to charge what ever they want. California roll with imitation crab. I am not new to this planet and don't expect real crab in a $6 roll but at least it should not be called California rather Kalifornia. Its like selling hamburger with soya "meet" without saying there is no meat. And , yes, food want't tasty.

We’ve eaten here numerous times, both inside and take out. Service is good and the sushi is high quality, but very expensive. Take out orders are often wrong, like today’s order. There are other good sushi places at a better price that can get take out orders correct.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic Sushi with Great Service!
I researched where to eat sushi in NYC and this place had great reviews. You have to make a reservation exactly 2 weeks ahead, so I made it at 12am to be sure to get in! It was every bit as good as the reviewers said. We ordered the tuna avocado appetizer, then ordered another one because it was that good. The tempura appetizer comes with a lot of different veggies and this yummy lemon salt. And the sushi is SO fresh! The wine list had something for everyone and the service was quick and friendly. Next time we come back for a show, we will definitely stay up till midnight 2 weeks before to get a reservation again!
Be the first to ReplyRushed Meal
The meal was very rushed. We had made a 10pm reservation and we were called and asked if we would like to come early which we did at 9:45. We had been told on the phone when we asked the restaurant the kitchen closed at 10:15pm. By 9:55pm we had been asked 3 times if we were ready to place our order and by 10:01pm they came around and asked if we wanted to order more food as it was last call for the kitchen. Please note an additional two tables entered around 10pm. In addition to this the check was brought to the table prior to the meal even being concluded. My recommendation is the restaurant should not take reservations so close to closing as we had been forced to take this time based on availability. As for the food quality the fish was good quality but overall fairly average for a well respected sushi restaurant.

Amazing Japanese food, real and authentic (mostly sushi type!)
Great choice, creative recepies...
Great experience
Friendly sushi place
We came here for lunch. The restaurant offers a “scan option” menus. As some of us had difficulties, we needed the “old fashioned” menu which turned out to be out dated with the inundated dishes and prices…..
The lunch menu has quite a few options , very reasonably priced.
Sushi was fresh but unpretentious .
Very friendly service and atmosphere
Best Japanese restaurant
Incredible, always fresh, always delicious food and service. Great place for our vegetarian family at least once a week
Be the first to ReplyUnpretentious Excellence
Unpretentious, affordable, clearly a local favorite. Sushi is excellent, service is not over the top, but friendly and attentive. Wine list is fantastic. A lovely evening, great food, nice atmosphere, bank still intact. Highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyThey put my (takeaway) warm
They put my (takeaway) warm chicken order side by side with sashimi /sushi. The sushi and sashimi was not surrounded by any sort of crushed ice or cold packaging as it should for a take out.
On the positive side, very smooth online ordering process and quick efficient delivery.
Consistently great food
Great hot food and sushi. Efficient online ordering system which is very COVID friendly. The homemade tofu steak teriyaki with vegetables entree is unique to this restaurant and delicious. Sushi is fresh. Tempura comes with the traditional seasonings. Amazing food.

My wife and I went to Sushi Yasaka because according to Zagat, it is one of the best sushi restaurants in NYC. It is average at best and not as good as other top restaurants on the UWS. Service was good, no complaint there, and although not my thing, Yasaka has an extensive sake list.

We ordered the take out several times.
We absolutely loved it. The order came quickly. The rolls and sushi were super fresh and delicious.
Will be ordering more for sure)))
