When I travel I often do tasting menus or visit Michelin Restaurants. I was very excited learning that a Michelin star chef had an experience in Miami Beach. The room itself is a secret location in the Carillion hotel. You have a choice of a 3 course tasting at 6:30pm or a 6 course tasting at 8:30pm.On our visit, we chose the 6 course and were encouraged to try the truffle pasta to compliment our meal. The staff was attentive though wine and champagne selections were much more limited than most restaurants. They do not have cocktails. All dishes had a creative spin and global elements. All were also inspired by things like Ramen, Mediterranean Salads, and flavors used across multiple regions. The kitchen has chefs who studied until the chef who inspired the restaurant and a pastry chef from France. The menu was served over nearly 3 hours. We particularly enjoyed the walnuts brought before our meal, the cod and Waygu Beef. Our favorite dish was the palette cleanser before dessert. All other dishes were lacking flavor or just missed the mark. I agree with a fellow reviewer that several dishes had foam, eggs, and more bland flavoring. I would not encourage adding anything to the 6 course meal. I would encourage asking for a description of the dishes as there were always more elements in them than listed on the menu. The truffle pasta was not like Italian pasta at all - it included an egg and thin noodles making it more like ramen. It was a very disappointing add and you can likely save time and money avoiding it. Overall, for the experience, taste, and overall evening I would say there are likely other restaurants you can experience something at their price point to better deliver upon expectations.
