I was hoping for better
I'll start by saying that the wine was really bad. They praised this Tuscan red, which ultimately tasted like vinegar. It seemed bad to ask for another one and we gave up. We were also disappointed by the appetizers: the famous Roman artichoke was not there. They only had one variant marinated in vinegar and grilled. Mozzarella in carrozza was quite hard. The first courses were nothing exceptional and the cacio e pepe also arrived cold. For dessert the chocolate mousse was pretty standard. High prices compared to the service and cuisine.

At first glance I would say that they are strange or they don't like tourists... I called and they told me that they were full, I asked for the next day if they had a place and a woman answered me rudely telling me that they were full, full, full . But I'm hard-headed and a friend had recommended this restaurant so much that I had an “Italian” woman on the phone and book me for that same night. THEY BOOKED ME. That said, it made me very angry, because there was plenty of room in the restaurant, I had a very good dinner, delicious food, an exceptional wine list and very good service. An unforgettable and incredible night and dinner. I recommend it and I hope you have better luck than me. I recommend it because it is exquisite Roman cuisine.

love!! all that is italy , sooooo quintessential and amazing. great service food and ambiance. Making a reservation from the states was the only challenging part however it was well worth it. I feel like more accommodating to locals however did honor our reservation because of my confirmation. on the pricey side but a great meal.

It's the second time I've been back to this restaurant and hopefully the last. Indecent waiter sweat dripping or maybe his nose I don't know.... he opened a bottle of red wine for us saying himself that the cork was broken and when he tasted the wine when we told him it wasn't good he visibly altered ... we then had confirmation that we were right when one of his colleagues finally arrived, apologizing and letting us taste another bottle of the same wine. What can I say, expensive and mediocre in quality and service....personally absurd and touristy never again

Nice place, but expensive. I ate little: salad and focaccia - they were good. Very good breads in the covert. Good service.

I consider this restaurant an example for all restaurateurs, I don't want to dwell on the food because it's superfluous, I don't remember ever having eaten below a 9 on my report card, I don't even dwell on drinking because we have every opportunity, today I want to dwell on courtesy and here the staff but above all Maurizio wins hands down, I consider him an example and a point of reference for those who want to undertake this profession, a tiring profession full of pitfalls, a polite way of approaching the table and the customer, unique, the second point I would like to respond to all those who complain about the prices, first of all a menu is brought and if you think the prices are high you get up and leave, the prices, dear gentlemen, perhaps you don't know the increases that have taken place and you don't know the sacrifices that have to be made to make ends meet, so when you write reviews take everything into account, the food is good so if you spend a little more than usual, let your palate respond. Thank you for your dedication. Unique

Wonderful! Excellent quality and service! Typical Roman menu that exceeded our expectations. It will definitely be on our list of recommendations!

One of the two stars goes to the quality of the raw materials and the goodness of the dish I tasted, the other to the professionalism and kindness of the staff. I give 2 stars because you cannot pay 30 euros for a first course and a glass of wine... the prices of this luxury restaurant and not a "tavern" (a sign that I recommend the owners review) are crazy!!! A glass of wine (the cheapest) 10 EUROOOO, are you kidding me?! I really don't think that the great poet Trilussa in life would go and eat with them, in fact he would say: THESE ARE MAKING THE DEAF IN MY NAME!!! The tavern and the tavern are something else, redefine yourselves because you are not this... you are a luxury restaurant with luxury restaurant prices.

We got lucky! Showed up with no reservation, on a saturday, so got to be seated inside which we didnt mind, we were quickly attended by our waitor Jacobo!! He was exceptional, for sure knew his wines! We had a few different starters we got recommended fried mozzarella which was surprisingly nice we also had artichokes, then we chose our pasta and main. (Cacio e Pepe & T Bone) But while having the starters we decided to add some ham I think they gave us some cheese too, to try with it…:) The meat was probably the least thing we enjoyed but also my fault as I didnt pay attention to if it was dry aged… nor did I ask. But to be honest the service at this place was so attentive and welcoming and even though the meat was not how we like our meat.. oh so they did serve it overly done first time but not even that seemed to be a problem at all they took it back with a smile and redid it, the cooking was perfect even though as mention prior it was just the aging and type of meat that was not how we would prefer it. even so can more then recommend this place… their pastas artichokes and tiramisu was alll incredible!!! we also ended up trying more pastas as we got along so well with the solo diner next to us :) so she passed us her food and ours was shared to her!!! A table for 2 vs 1 became a table for 3! To sum it up We had a great evening!

We had dinner here in November 2022 while visiting Italy for our 10th wedding anniversary. We came to Taveran Trilussa because we wanted to try something a little less touristy, and I'm so glad we did! The service was what really made this place exceptional, even though the pastas, wine, and desserts were all excellent. Everyone on staff was really kind.

We were recommended this restaurant, but found it very average. The prices are high, but the food does not match in quality. We were seated next to a table that had their dog. I think they should have checked first to see if we were ok with this. We had a glass of wine each, which the waiter clearly wasn't impressed about (maybe he thought we would not spend enough). I ordered the ravioli (which has won two awards - not sure what awards), which was quit stodgy. My husband had the carbonara which was salty. The service was quite snooty, they clearly rest on their reputation. Would not return or recommend. There are 100s of better restaurants in Rome.

After reading mostly rave reviews and their awards, we knew this would be a memorable meal which it was in that it was a huge disappointment. They featured prawns as their specialty which we ordered as an appetizer. Four cold and barely cooked prawns at 36 euros were served. We took a few small bites and were afraid of getting sick the next day. We should have sent them back but they were so awful it wasn’t worth it. My son ordered the pasta with white sauce and truffles and did not like the taste at all. My daughter’s spaghetti with red sauce was served in an old cooking pan…rather odd. I tried her spaghetti and it wasn’t even close to al dente but chewy. The ravioli was adequate. Service was spotty and our bill over 200 euros was quite expensive. We have eaten at better restaurants in Rome for far less.
