Nice Italian Place
Had a wonderful dinner here on a Friday evening. There are two separate sitting areas in the front near bar and the back. We sat close to the front and it was nice being away from the crowd. For appetizers, we had the Arrosticini (lamb), Baccala, and Artichokes. Enjoyed everything especially the Artichokes. Seems few places serve it. For the entrees, we shared the Cacio e Pepe, Wood Fired Mushrooms and Porchetta. It maybe the first time I've had Porchetta. I really like more of the outer fatty parts with the crunchy skin. The Pepe was simple but loved the firm fresh noodles. The service was very good.

The restaurant is a little off from downtown Chicago, but I wouldn't let that stop me from coming back. The service was perfect and we had a fantastic evening, with incredibly good food! I would highly recommend their lobster paste

This is our second visit to Soif. This is a cozy little bar with great ambiance. Victoria was at the bar (and was our server) and helped us with our drink choices. We also had the Petit Camebert Au Four and it was delicious. Victoria is very knowledgeable about wine--she truly wants her guests to know more about wine and enjoy their visit. I would recommend coming here .

I've been to a lot of Italian restaurants and many in Chicago but this place blew my mind. Roman artichokes, arancini, pizza, bucatini, chicken marsala etc. Combined with excellent service (Mel) we had a most pleasant evening. It's a neighborhood place, very casual and I encourage you to go.

Lovely small restaurant with an appealing (though simple) interior and nice outdoor seating. More importantly, a very good kitchen! The menu is small, perhaps enabling the kitchen team to focus on what they do well and avoid maintaining a large inventory. We had four different dishes - two appetizers and two entrees - and each was very well prepared and attractively presented, a sensible size and fine without being fussy. The food coming out for the other tables look equally appealing, the wine list was Italian-focused and (like the menu) not extensive but good quality without being pretentious. In summary, we really enjoyed Testaccio and found it worth travelling across multiple neighborhoods from our home, bypassing innumerable Italian restaurants along the way. It is on an active stretch of California Street in Logan Square.

Very good, but not as fabulous as expected based on previous reviews. Started with the burrata which was good, but the flavors of the jam and bread slightly overwhelmed the cheese. Then tried a special of wood fired asparagus which was excellent. Great server who let us know we could get 1/2 portions of the pasta. This let us try several and also is good because the pastas are very rich. The cacio e Pepe was excellent; the bucatini was very good, but really heavy and the pappardelle was good, but had an odd spice. The only real negative was the size of the wine pours; very tiny!!

Amazing dinner in Logan Square. I've been to Italy multiple times, and the food here is exquisite. The ambiance is great too.
