The Blue Box Cafe – South Coast Plaza Costa Mesa Reviews from The Last Year
Great tea !
Was able to book same week via Resy beautiful room excellent service all staff were on their toes! Ordered the Tiffany tea which was great and the scones, tea sandwiches ,and sweets were all delicious. I tried to order a birthday cake slightly inside the 48 hour min and was not accommodated So place your order as soon as you can if you want a cake . They were kind to add a candle and a happy birthday chocolate to our tea service which was much appreciated! I read comments about the lack of bathrooms on that floor just know there are other restrooms on other floors a quick elevator ride if you can’t wait a few minutes. Beware of little girls birthday parties there was a rowdy group of girls that seemed not yet ready for tea at Tiffany’s! If you can get a reservation you will not be disappointed a very memorable experience!
Great coffee, great setting, the compressed towels are amazing
We had coffee at the a blue Box Cafe inside the Tiffany landmark store last week. They have a few types of seating. I think you can make a reservation in advance, but they also have seating on bar stools and a room to the side set with table, which I assume is for walk ins like us. The restaurant is stunning. The hundreds of small blue boxes suspended from the ceiling are incredible. It is light, airy and elegant. It looks like every seat was taken. We ordered two cups of coffee. These were $8.00 each, which is not too expensive considering you are going for the experience. One of the greatest experiences was the presentation of a shallow dish containing two quarter sized objects that looked like alka seltzer tablets, except they are thicker. The server came by and poured a little hot water on each one. They rose up in size to about 1 1/2 inches tall! These are cotton towels, compressed to a tiny shape, expanding to full size when exposed to water. This is cool! The coffee was excellent. It was worth it to have the experience of the Blue Box Cafe. It is up to the standard you would expect from Tiffany. Are there negatives? The service in the side room did not seem to be as attentive as the main room. Although we had these really cool wet towels, there were no napkins provided with our coffee.
Dutchies at the Blue bix
Felt right at home. Very good menu at reado able prices. Three of us had the breakfast and my son had an amazing black Angus hamburger with great fries. Service was impeccable and the (Dutch) manager made an effort to make are stay even more pleasan. Our daughter got an ‘extra’ special egg without the caviar and extra scones where brought to our table. A very nice experience and next time in New York this will be first on our list to do. Horrible ruined my birthday
Bad place (sorry for my language) but I’m furious. This place was supposed to be the HIGHLIGHT of my NYC birthday trip but it ended up NOT being the highlight. I made a reservation for the DAY OF MY BIRTHDAY and I could not go because they had a private event, they didn’t even remind me or my family so we went there and COULD NOT dine their for my birthday. The attention was horrible firstly we went there to buy my birthday gift then went up and asked to make a reservation. The lady’s looked at me and rudely said that it’s online, didn’t even tell me what website or instruct me how to do it, I find that horrible and not good service, food looked bad and the employed were horrible (sorry for mi language) but I am furious. They ruined my expirience and I’m not a fan of them anymore. So this is my fricking experience and hope everyone else has a better one! I hope people have a better expirience.
HORRIBLE
We had a reservacion today at 10 am to have breakfast with my family. As we arrive they say rudley that we could not dine their because they had an event.Backstory is that we went their Two days prior to personaly make a reservation and they rudley said that we need to make it in the app, we did as said and today to celebrate my daughters birthday they say “there is an error in the app” we rile them to give us a solution and they said to wait 5 HOURS in the store until they can see if they have space!! What a horrible place!! It was my daughters dream and they ruined it up!! RUINED THE EXPIRIENCE.
Disappointment at Tiffany's
Unfortunately it does not live up to Tiffany's fame in terms of elegance, courtesy and quality. A liquid hot chocolate, it was more of a milk with cocoa. The gateau arlequin cake is good; The staff are friendly but elegance is something else; a little improvised, even forgetting the napkin. Excessive price for the service offered.
Happy Anniversary Tea.
Suprise anniversary visit for my partner julie. She loves afternoon tea's And where better than Tiffanys blue box cafe . It was out of this world amazing . The taste buds where tingling with all the lovely treats we had ... it was so fantastic the staff where amazing. We got chatting to 2 lady new yorkers during our tea . Which also made it special . All the need to know things about new york . If your in New York ... The Blue Box is a must do ...Thankyou to all there
Fun time!
Food was is great and the service was perfect. We had a very fun day. One thing that I see people complaining about is the reservation system and they can’t get a table. I couldn’t get a table at all when I put in a table for two, but when I put in a table for three, several reservations popped up for the next few days, it appears to me at least that they have tables for certain amounts of people only and they will not take a reservation for two people and put them at a table for 3 etc which is understandable I was able to treat my niece who works in the city so we were able to use all three seats.
Perfect Sweet 16 Celebration
Celebrated my daughter’s Sweet 16 at Blue Box while in NYC for Spring Break. We had afternoon tea followed by a nice walk in Central Park. The service was impeccable. We enjoyed the mini sandwiches and all of the flavors and the nice fresh colorful salad. As a highlight, we sat 3 tables away from Reese Witherspoon! Would love to come back again soon!
Afternoon tea at Tiffany’s!
We didn’t have reservations, and were added to a waitlist for a table. We scored a table, but was not close enough to make I back in time. We heard to try again around 4pm and got seated immediately at the bar. The afternoon tea service, avocado toast and matcha lattes hit the spot. The tea sandwiches and sweets literally melt in your mouth! The hostess staff and the waitress staff were so helpful and friendly and top notch professional. We felt very taken care of! Highly recommend this stop!

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Can come from a lot of places, people who don't want to get charged their cancellation fee or people who just have them and cant go.

almost all restaurants aren't affiliated with AT and I'm guessing it's mostly people wanting to not pay cancellation fees.
