Not so good
I hate writing this negative review, staff was great, waiters, etc. But the food was lacking. My Caesar salad was so bad. No dressing, just crunchy lettuce, croutons, a couple anchovies, not even shaved parm on it! Went with 6 adults, none were impressed with their meals. I will say, not a big red meat eater, so none of us ordered any red meat entrees. No bread offered with any meals, not even the fettuccini, a no-no to this Italian. Any appetizer offered with "truffle" flavor was a bit on the strong side. I'm sorry, just didn't seem impressive for the prices.

This was our first time at the Cache and the occasion was an anniversary dinner. The ambience was sophisticated but friendly, and the place nearly full on a Tuesday evening. The prices are high - but the food was of excellent quality and prepared expertly. Everything was intentional and tasty, showcasing the flavors of the main ingredients. We shared a very substantial appetizer of tempura portabellos, and for entrees my husband had bison, and I had scallops. Everything was perfect including the cocktails (substantial and strong), and the service outstanding. We chose tart cherry pie (excellent crust and filling) as our complementary anniversary dessert. Well done to Cache for creating a special place.

Service was fabulous, the young man behind the bar was very knowledgeable regarding wines. We had the grilled octopus, the carpaccio, and a tuna dish, all super fresh and delicious. I highly recommend.

Beautiful restaurant nestled at the top of a cute boutique cafe and bar. We sat at the bar and ordered wine and a cocktail, the New York strip, cooked carrots, and the butternut squash salad. Everything was absolutely delicious. The service was great! Also, this is marked as a $$$$ restaurant, but I felt that’s overpricing it a bit. It’s closer to $$-$$$. Well worth the money spent! Definitely plan a date night here when you can.

No other restaurant in FOCO comes close for both ambiance and amazing menu. Pricy sure, but well worth the experience and the food. Service is top notch also. Highly recommended for a special night out or just a well needed treat.
Be the first to ReplyBad April Experience Meant No Return in June
Yesterday was our wedding anniversary. We had been to The Cache for a past anniversary dinner. But I did not consider it this year because of our dining experience in April. We love the Ginger & Baker complex and their other dining options. We did delivery during COVID to support them. We were excited to cautiously return to dining out in the spring. We went on a Thursday night a week after they reopened. They had limited capacity and a very large group in the side room. The staff were clearly taxed. Our entire evening took over two and half hours from walking in to paying. The entire experience was off, not leisurely. Wait times for first drinks & entrees were long. The server never acknowledged the extreme delays in our food arriving. Staff buzzed by oblivious. Another table had to flag down a passing food runner to pay. All restaurants have off nights. And coming back from a lengthy COVID closure was certainly a good reason to give leeway. My wife contacted the restaurant via email the next day about our experience. The reply was pretty much an "I'm sorry about your night" with a request for additional details like names of staff involved and more specifics. Management didn't know how bad the night before had been? We'll return to the other dining areas, but probably not The Cache. You can't charge big city prices and offer bad service & have no talking to patrons & explaining that there are problems. The food was excellent that night, for what it is worth.

We were a party of 6 and ate on the rooftop part of this restaurant. For an appetizer we had the portabella mushroom fries and they were so delicious! We are still talking about how great those were! Most of our party ordered steaks and they were all cooked to perfection. Great selection if wine and cocktails. Highly recommend!!

In the midst of COVID it was great to get out for a nice dinner. The Cache had outdoor seating. Controls were in place to limit proximity and density, but it felt very normal. We sat outside in what is usually the Cache Bar area. Our servers, two gentlemen, were attentive, relaxed and funny. It was not stuffy or stale. The Gazpacho Trio was a tasty appetizer. I think the Watermelon shot was my favorite. Our salads were great. The Wedge Salad with Salmon was a complete meal. The Beet and Burrata salad was so very tasty. The Burrata had herbs in the creamy filling. Our Filet was absolutely wonderful. The seasonings and sauce made this dish the hit. The mashed potato was so good. We had the quadruple coconut cream pie and it was delicious.

Had dinner with friends back in February. Exquisite food and strong wine selection. Those of us who enjoy craft beer were not disappointing either. Exceptionally clean.

I have been to the The Cache at least 7 times -- both in the banquet room for work functions and in the restaurant for family dining. I have come to expect the banquet meals to be mediocre and the family meals in the restaurant to be very good. Maybe the difference is the banquet food is mass produced for same point in time service, I don't know. But I and my daughter were severely disappointed with this year's New Years Eve's fixed menu dinner served in the restaurant. The Cache had run out of one of the three appetizers by mid-evening (of course the one both my daughter and I wanted). The soup (cauliflower with scallop) was lukewarm, even though the bowl in which it was served was hot. They must have kept the plates in a warmer and the soup on a turned-off burner (I would have preferred it the other way around). The radicchio and pear salad had several intense flavors that did not blend well. May daughter's main dish, an acorn squash, was overpowered by vinegar, and my Osso Buco (pork shank instead of lamb or beef) was dried out apparently from sitting around after being cooked much earlier. We did not try the fish entree, but was told by another table that it was, well, fishy. As we left, a server was seating another table and telling them that the soup and another item were no longer available, in addition to the unavailable appetizer. I do not mean to be too harsh, but I think when a restaurant limits its menu for a special occasion, such as New Year's Eve, and every table is reserved (with cancellation penalty), then the restaurant should have enough food for the evening and the restaurant should not prepare for the event like it is a business banquet.
