Food was 10/10, bottomless mimosas are AMAZING and service
Food was 10/10, bottomless mimosas are AMAZING and service was great. The atmosphere is also wonderful but the food outshines that!
Sat outside for a recent Sunday brunch.
Enjoyed a spicy "bloody hell", which arrived with olive and a muffin garnish. Veggie omelette with Brie was on point. Farmers potatoes weren't available but oven roasted potatoes substituted were delicious. Others enjoyed the Hot honey chicken sandwich, the chillequiles, and the quiche. All plates were beautiful and service was great. Limited outside seating in the bright Minneapolis sunshine was delightful.
One of the few brunch places that had reservations
One of the few brunch places that had reservations available for 8 people on a Sunday at 11am - booked the night before! Parking very easy right outside. Our group got tons of dishes on the menu and they were all great. The potatoes had good crisp, the meat good flavor. Sorry but I don't remember any specific dishes! Super reasonably priced. We got maybe 7 dishes, it came out to only $31 per person.
Ordered: Farmer's Brunch (~$18): scrambled eggs, breakfast
Ordered: Farmer's Brunch (~$18): scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes (substituted) & sauce ranch crème fraiche, bread pudding French toast, and Ferndale turkey sausage Aya's take: Classic brunch spot in Minneaopolis. The Copper Hen has a very rustic vibe and a fairly standard menu, so you'll definitely find something for everyone. After some deliberation, I went with the Farmer's Brunch since it had a good variety on the same plate. The scrambled eggs were cooked well, I enjoyed the crispy and seasoned breakfast potatoes, and the turkey sausage was a great non-pork option. I love that bread pudding French toast is included in this dish. The bread pudding French toast was dense, sweet, but very tasty. I love a sweet & savory combo so this was perfect. For all this food, I thought ~$18 was a steal! Decent spot for brunch if you're in the area.
The place itself is so cute, well decorated and designed!
The place itself is so cute, well decorated and designed! Loved the barn doors that expand the space! The restaurant itself is in a not so great part of town. For brunch: The biscuits and gravy were kind of plain... needed some spices, the breakfast potatoes are big and not cooked the best. The mimosas were VERY orange juicy, wish there was more champagne! The fried chicken was delicious though!

It was so good! We got two Nutty Irishman's to start - need to get the Biscuits and gravy with the over-easy eggs - got the Quiche and it was great but the pie crust was a little burnt, not bad tho!
I had a wonderful experience here for brunch.
The service was great, and they were willing to split checks for 6 people which I really appreciated. I ordered the smoked salmon plate, which ended up being enormous!! The cream cheese was especially good. Next time I plan to order pasties ahead of time, because by the time I left around noon most were sold out. I also love that this is on a main bus line, as I value places that are accessible by public transit.
I was excited to try this place but the food fell a little
I was excited to try this place but the food fell a little short. My favorite item was the short rib, the rice was tasty and the short rib was tender. The farmers breakfast was alright. The potatoes tasted a little stale and the eggs were a little rubbery and didn't taste like anything. The bread pudding was very dense and I personally like my bread pudding to be a little more moist. The sandwich was fine and the potatoes were crunchy. The batter on the chicken was also crunchy but tasted unseasoned and flavorless. I liked the pickles in the sandwich. The bakery items were very good, I think that's where this place really shines. It's a shame because the space is really cute and the staff seemed nice.
Oh no! When I lived in Minneapolis this was always a go to
Oh no! When I lived in Minneapolis this was always a go to for out of town guests for brunch. We went on July 6th and it just fell completely flat. I ordered the frittata and they told me the wrong thing, what I got was awful, chewy and not what I would ever had picked. Despite admitting his mistake the server also did nothing to fix it when I said I didn't like it. In addition the potatoes were dried up and shriveled. We were so disappointed that another good place is failing.
Great ambiance, underwhelming food
The waitstaff was friendly and lovely, but the food was very mediocre. I got the swordfish - for $42 - and it was a very small, oily, overcooked biscuit of fish alongside some potato and a salad that seemed to have an odd whipped mayo/butter glob on it instead of dressing.
The food, service and ambiance were fabulous.
I felt the service was friendly and attentive. Why I may not come back is the whole time I was there the door was being fixed with loud drilling that reverberated throughout the dining room. The ladder the worker was using took up the whole door making entering and leaving difficult. When I wanted to leave ( because of the noise) the worker told me to wait. The worst was when he kept working while peple were at the host stand. He came down the ladder and bumped into someone waiting. What kind of management allows this type of work during business hours On a Saturday morning?
Love it!
Brunch was great. First time visiting. Home made biscuits and gravy were a smash. The espresso drinks were also very good.
Yummy Brunch
My first time to The Copper Hen. Very nice experience and great food. My sister had the eggs benedict, my wife has the Quiche Lorraine, and I had the Farmer’s Brunch. Family friendly and parking across the street. Highly recommend it.
Sunday Brunch!
Great service and food. Selections included Farmer's Brunch, Copper Benedict and Seasonal Country Quiche. Everyone satisfied. We got there before 10 am and it was quiet, but by the time we were done, the place was filled and noisy (in a happy way). We were celebrating birthdays, so chose some delectable cupcakes too. Would definitely return.
So disappointed.
After a friend's recommendation from the Mothers Day brunch I took 6 guests to breakfast on Sunday. Service was prompt and professional but the food was awful. 3 of us ordered one of their signature dishes , eggs Benedict. The eggs came practically hard boiled and the hollandaise was tasteless. My gluten free bread was un toasted and soggy. Another ordered the chilaquiles. it was sweet not spicy. Not good at all. All the food was lukewarm when it was served. Most reviews have been good so maybe they had a new chef. I won't go back to find out.
Best brunch place!!! I have been here before for brunch
Best brunch place!!! I have been here before for brunch and it was delicious, but decided to stop by for an early dinner. I had the French dip and it was DELICIOUS. Those sweet potato fries might be my favorite thing ever. They're huge and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. In the pricier side but worth the vibes (and the food). It was almost completely empty for a 5:30 dinner inside. Great staff, super vibey. Street parking only.
Consistently Good Comfort Food
The restaurant isn’t fancy or pretentious, it’s just a nice clean and consistently good place to eat. The breakfast food is exactly what you’d want it to be and the lunch food is consistently good.
I made a reservation here for a girls brunch/birthday
I made a reservation here for a girls brunch/birthday brunch. It's a super cute restaurant. The decor is really adorable and I love the vibe. I ordered a caramel latte and the copper Benedict. The latte was really good. The Benedict was okay. I would've like it more but I think my plate must have been made first of my tables cause the eggs were cold. The potatoes and the sauce that was serviced with it was the star of the show though. Service was decent for a Saturday morning brunch and it was a pretty busy restaurant. Definitely recommend making a reservation if you are gonna check it out. It's super easy on their website to make a reservation and they send you reminders. They also have free parking across the street which is a plus as it's a busy are.
The place has a lovely quaint french decor, there's blue
The place has a lovely quaint french decor, there's blue velvet wall booth, the walls are covered with french blue toile wallpaper and there are brass accents everywhere. I was there for brunch and the food was great; I had the biscuits and gravy with their house potatoes and it was delicious, the potatoes come with a dipping cream fresh sauce that I wish it came in a pint size My friend had the eggs Benedict, the hollandaise sauce was homemade and it looked very tasty. The server kept checking on us frequently even though the place was packed. The one thing I was disappointed about was how loud it was, it was extremely difficult to have a conversation, so if you are planing on coming here to catch up with friends, this might not be the place.
Food is incredibly good! Nice atmosphere, super friendly
Food is incredibly good! Nice atmosphere, super friendly staff. Great place for brunch with friends
The food is high quality and always dependable.
The staff are friendly and always go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. The interior is a nice country kitchen layout, which is unique for the location. It is great for events, too. You should always book reservations in advance for weekends because you won't get in otherwise. It is very popular with the brunch crowd.
Ate brunch at Copper Hen this Sunday.
My son loves this restaurant so we went there. I will never darken its doors again. I ordered eggs Benedict. The worst I have ever tasted. The english muffin had the weight and hardness of a hockey puck. It was burned on the bottom. The sauce was tasteless. The bacon was burned. The breakfast potatoes were dry. This bad food after we waited 45 minutes. The waiter ignored us. I had to raise my hand and my voice to get his reluctant attention. Don't go to the Copper Hen.

Do NOT go here hungry because the food take Forever! The place is nice, server is great. The foods are good but not exceptional or unique. And they are overpriced. Had the chicken sandwich it's good as it should be made with dark meat. Crispy and juicy in right places. Potato is well crisp as they should and they're good just not wow! They could've had twice the business with better table turnaround. And happier customer...just saying
Service and food was delicious, I loved the pancakes it had
Service and food was delicious, I loved the pancakes it had a kick of cinnamon which made it really flavorful. I love to order chilaquiles at new places I would say the chilaquiles could be better on the flavor and more saucy!
The food was so good and the portions were very generous.
Normally I would get a coffee and pastry but unfortunately I just wasn't in the mood. I did however purchase a cinnamon roll. This was decent. I know it's like their thing but I've definitely had better. I had the French toast and it was soooo good. I would go back just for that. My partner and I shared the potatoes and that was also super tasty.
A Breakfast Beaut!
We loved this cute diner near the Como area. Adorably decorated, spacious & clean. We had our anniversary brunch here. They were so nice to give us a glass of champagne & a cupcake to celebrate. Our food was fresh & delicious. I had the country quiche, my husband had the classic(. Eggs, potatoes & bacon) and we shared one of their huge cinnamon rolls. Great food! Thank you!
Tonight was my introduction to Eat Street uptown
Tonight was my introduction to Eat Street uptown Minneapolis! We celebrated a birthday with another couple by trying the Thursday Date Night menu and it was wonderful. We tried different appetizers and shared - tomato bisque, gnochi, rounding out with sweet potato fries. Our 2nd course choices were mac n cheese, chicken pot pie, French dip sandwich, and egg plant Parmigiana - all were generous portions and tastes were wonderful. We finished with skillet cookies with ice cream. Every dish was well prepared with amazing tastes. Spices and herbs used were spot on. Service was friendly and attentive, atmosphere was perfect for a celebration night out. Parking uptown is a challenge, copper hen has off street parking in a small lot across the street. The birthday girl received a gift cupcake to wrap up a tremendous meal and fun night out. Strongly recommend Copper Hen, can't wait til we can go back!
A friend picked this place to celebrate their engagement
A friend picked this place to celebrate their engagement and we were able to make a reservation easily online! They only have street parking so give yourself enough time to find parking. As far as a menu they have a small menu but everything looks good! I got the 50/50 burger and it was very delicious! I love the freshness of the food as their model is farm to table freshness. The ambience is it's quite dark inside but maybe it's brighter during the day.

Went for my birthday brunch, what a fun atmosphere and menu! Bottomless mimosas, . The service was a bit slow and it was super loud, but if you're not in a rush, I'd highly recommend for a nice, pricier date or with a group!
Great Atmosphere and Bites!
Exceptional brunch experience at The Copper Hen in Minneapolis! The brioche cinnamon roll was not only enormous but also incredibly delicious. The beef and egg brunch dish was a perfect balance of flavors. The espresso martini was phenomenal – a must-try! A special shoutout to the owner for the personal touch, stopping by our table to ensure everything was perfect. Five stars for fantastic food, delightful drinks, and outstanding hospitality!
Delicious
Great dinner. Loved everything, especially the espresso martini. Pot pie was unique. Ended with the skillet cookie. Will go again
Cold Eggs, Undercooked Bacon
We were really excited to try this place, because of the reviews. I thought it was a little overpriced, so we tried brunch, which was a little more reasonable. While the cinnamon roll was delicious, my eggs were cold, the French toast was soggy and not cooked all the way through, and the bacon was way undercooked. They should not have even brought it out of the kitchen. They took the bacon off the price of the meal.
Rude waitress
We came in a group of 9 people and the waitress Elisabeth was SO RUDE. Although the space was not very busy it took them a lot of time to tend to us a group. Her attitude the entire afternoon was as if we were somewhat of a bother to her. 0 niceties. 0 genuine interaction. I decided to add less than 10% of tip because of that and she came to the table, after all afternoon being so impolite and agrees I’ve. She came to the table to confront me and ask me why I had left less. When I told her that is what I wanted to leave based on her interactions with us, she got upset with me and started to fill our glasses, again, in a non polite ways. The food was good, tasty and the place is awesome but she made our afternoon so unpleasant and uncomfortable. I understand that this job must be tired, stressful but I don’t understand how a person can be that unfriendly and unkind just because. What a unfortunate experience.
