Love this place!
Yes they charge a cover fee but so do many other places, the drinks and food were prices really no different than other places The place is beyond gorgeous & their kale salad was sooo good as well as their strawberry rhubarb crisp! Their staff were lovely & the band amazing. My only complaint if I had one was the chairs, not the most comfortable to relax in and enjoy the show. I would love to go back and see a movie there as they have the cutest little cinema outside and down the hall We would def come back!
Be the first to ReplyGood Music but EXPENSIVE
A group of 9 of us went to Django to hear Jazz. The music was very good and we all really enjoyed it. However, there was a $35 cover per person plus a 2-drink requirement which I am sure we did not even consume and when the bill came, we got charged for 10 people instead of 9 and had a bill of $650.

I am a sucker for live instrumental music, great ambiance, service, and food. You truly cannot go wrong with any artist whether they're pure instrumentalists or add a bit of singing to their live performances. The servers were wonderful, especially my server Tony. He would interact with us frequently and not in an annoying manner. From the menu, I ordered the meat and cheese board. Perfect choice to presently enjoy the music and not be caught up in eating a dense meal. I stuck with the Groovin' High cocktail. I had three that night which proves to show that it was very enjoyable. Great drink if you're into a light and impactful sweet drink.
Be the first to Reply$25 cover per person + 2 drink minimum per person = 3 stars
I truly cannot understand how anyone can give this place higher than a 3 star review. And, let me be clear, the only reason I’m giving them 3 instead of 2 is because I don’t want this to reflect poorly on the musicians. I reserved a table for 2 and arrived 10 minutes before my reservation time. The hostess sat us at a very small high top table that was less than 2 ft away from the table next to us. We asked if we could be seated at one of the 5 empty tables next to us, but she said that they were reserved for a large party. This “large party” never showed up. We opened the menu to find that nothing was less than $18 (except for a can of beer). This was a little unsettling considering we were charged $25 EACH as a cover as well as a 2 drink minimum. We ended up ordering the “meat and cheese board”, which was over $25 and contained a few slices of meat and some small squares of cheese. On top of that, when I finally received the bill (and my credit card, which was taken from me after placing my first of two mandatory drink orders) the suggested tips were calculated on top of the cover and drinks. Personally, I would never come back to this place unless the cover and drink minimum were waived.

This is an absolutely incredible little spot. So much fun. Good music, food, and service. Make a reservation!
Be the first to ReplyNot a customer friendly policy to charge extra money and get away with it if the customer doesn't pay attention..
Unfortunately the nice atmosphere and good music are not enough to leave a good review. This place has a 2 drink minimum and a seating fee and yet they tried to charge us extra dollars. At least that is what the customer thinks when the cheque has higher prices than all 3 of the different menus we checked before complaining! When we asked why EVERY drink on the reciept was overpriced, the waitress told us that she had to ask the manager and the manager told us that "It was a mistake" and that they "changed the prices on the new menus"..weirdly enough only on all 4 different drinks we ordered!

Loved the cocktails here. This jazz bar at the Roxy was one of the best spots I found in Tribeca. Totally worth it. A must experience type of place.
Be the first to ReplyGreat evening with live jazz music and delicious food
We were taken to the basement and given an option to seat at any of the available tables. We choice one on the second row from the band. We both had starters and mains. I had the artichoke toast and my friend the shrimp cocktail. For main we had the steak and the salmon. I have to admit that the salmon was one of the best I’ve ever had. Was delicious and everyone should try it. The only issue was my friend’s drink. He ordered half a bottle of Prosecco which was served in non chilled glass which meant that the drink was flat. Also the waitress did not help as she served the bubbly like you do water. Overall the service was very attentive there was only a delay on the bottled water we ordered. The total bill came to $250 and that included the $25 cover per person.
Be the first to ReplyReservations are meaningless
I wish I could say that I was at the Django more than 10 minutes, since it looks like a great place. I made a "reservation" for a show, and after 45 minutes of waiting past our reservation time, my party just left since I was told it was "unclear how long it would be before I could get seated.' Hence the 3-rating. Maybe it could have been a 5, but I give a 3 just based on the look of the place. Basically, a reservation here is meaningless, so there is no point trying to even go here, so I will no longer.

Our honeymoon one full year delayed! The first night in the city we had reservations to see The Charles Mingus Band - experimental, beatnik jazz at it's best with a 14-piece band of true jazz masters. From the Maître d who welcomed us as if we were old friends to our waitress who was an absolute doll - this was a First Class experience from beginning to end. The cocktail menu invited us to "kick it up a notch" while the food menu kept it simple yet delicious with everything from Oysters Rockefeller to a mighty burger. First and foremost a place for music - the acoustics were amazing and the ambience lived up to the hype - it was 1920's Paris, France! Would we go again? ABSOLUTELY!
