The Edge Steakhouse Rancho Mirage Reviews from The Last Year
Best steakhouse I've ever been to in Palm Springs service
Best steakhouse I've ever been to in Palm Springs service amazing, ambiance out of this world!! View is beautiful
First off Chelsea the hostess treated us like DIRT.
She sized me up decided I was not rich enough to give an outdoor table to. We are staying at the ritz The outdoor seating was open and she intentionally wanted to wait and see if someone else would take the tables outdoors It' was almost closing time before she was willing to seat us?. The pasta sucked the steak was burnt. Only the bread was good Do yourself a favor and go to the other ritz restaurant which was fantastic food and service Don't go here !
We had been waiting for The Edge to open since the pandemic.
Our friends celebrating their 60th anniversary felt like to time to check it out. Service started with a nitrogen cooled serving of mini Old Fashion drinks that were very good. We took our own wine and weren't charged a corkage fee, although we have seen elsewhere that the charge is $50. The she crab soup was excellent. The wedge salad was tiny. The pork belly could have been cooked a little longer. Two of our party ordered salmon. The salmon was overcooked at one end and undercooked at the other. The scallops were good. I ordered the Wagyu tenderloin ($110) as an indulgence. The steak was nicely prepared but I doubt it was Wagyu. It was a good steak, but not worth $110. Deserts were good. I particularly recommend the s'mores baked Alaska. The presentation was superb and the sauce was to die for. Overall, the service was good, but overall we left disappointed. We won't be rushing back. (One point. This is a large restaurant. There is only one unisex bathroom for the whole place. This seems very un-Ritz Carlton.)
Returned for an anniversary after a less than stellar meal
Returned for an anniversary after a less than stellar meal 8 years ago. The room now matches the excellent formal service. Well-made cocktails were listed on menu as $16 but were charged $21 on the check. The menu is very limited, unappealing and they were out of chicken. The bread(if you ask for it) is unique and satisfying. Everything else that we ordered other than the $310 tomahawk steak, was inedible, including the amuse buche. We ate only the properly seasoned and cooked as requested steak. Miniscule caesar salad had no taste other than the fine anchovy on top. Mac and cheese was unidentifiable globs in a tasteless white milk-like pool covered with a thick, seemingly raw layer of what might have been bread crumbs. Tepid mushrooms tasted only of raw garlic and salt. To his credit, the manager came over to apologize for the food and the cocktail billing, compensating for a round of drinks and the mac. They did also recognize our celebration with a lovely blueberry mousse. An expensive and ultimately disappointing evening at what pre-Marriott, was an extraordinary hotel.
Very nice restaurant.
Ambiance is beautiful, modern feel with great views of the valley. Service was impeccable and the food was delicious. We really enjoyed the steak and waitress was very knowledgeable in assisting us with ordering. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is it's very pricey. That said l, Edge is located at Ritz Carlton property so it shouldn't be a surprise that prices are high. Highly recommend for a romantic dinner or special occasion. Thank you Edge! We had a great dinner
The edge steak house is set beautifully on a cliff
The edge steak house is set beautifully on a cliff overlooking the city. It definitely has a beautiful ambiance and great vibe. However, the food was just meh for the price you're paying. The steaks are pricey. I went with the New York strip and it was totally meh on flavoring. Cooked okay. Hubby ordered the salmon which had a nice crust bit was still average. The risotto and creamed spinach were also okay but not out of this world. I like these strong on flavor but it was totally missing for me. We loved the house bread and butter. Service was great and attentive. I wouldn't come back. But would say go if you want to enjoy the ambiance, view and vibe.
The views are spectacular and the service was very good but
The views are spectacular and the service was very good but if you are looking for a properly prepared and nice cut of steak, this is definitely not the place for that, especially at the price point. I ordered a filet medium rare and it arrived medium at best. I then mentioned it to the server and they kindly brought me another one, but low and behold it too was medium at best and was not even a nice cut if meat, with chewy bites throughout. They mentioned the chef had figured out what happened but I wasn't willing to try a third round because if you are charging $50+ for steaks they should be cooked properly the first time in my opinion. There's an art to cooking steaks properly and this place needs to perfect that more. Go elsewhere for steaks but do enjoy the view and service here.

Hubs and I, along w another couple were staying at the resort, celebrating a friend's birthday and their engagement. Our first night in, I booked us here for a 7:45p res, indoor. They had me confirm w them twice, by phone and text. We get there on time and they tell us they're running late, table wont be ready for 20 mins bc it was colder than usual outside and no one wanted their outdoor reservations. Seems like a reasonable explanation except I booked an indoor table. If it were reversed, and I'd requested outdoor seating that was already committed, they'd either tell me no or I'd need to wait. They did say that they'd just stopped taking walk-ins...on a Fri night, when they had res's, and about 10 tables outside they cldnt use and they had been taking walk-ins? Honestly since we were sitting at a lovely outdoor table at State Fare, also at the Ritz, they could've just notified me to come a bit later & we'd have been fine w that. Fine, we're seated 15 or 20 mins past res. The menu is small, crazy small, and the only steaks are over $100, not even a basic $50-$60 filet. No specials. We order, tho I'm starting to feel embarrassed that I picked this place. I order the risotto carbonara (amazing dish, so good), hubs gets the pork chop, our friends get the salmon and one of the $125 steaks, plus a bunch of sides. The steak and the pork chop come out completely wrong in the cookery...steak was supposed to be medium (I need a long chat w my friend about his choices but hey, it's what he wanted), both come out rare, yes, even the pork chop. In the meantime, we eat sides, my risotto and the salmon. The mac n cheese was described as having a little heat...yeah no, it had cinnamon and nutmeg, tasted like a holiday dessert which was just weird for mac n cheese. Round 2 of steak and chop arrive...same issue, both rare. Hubs switches to steak bc the risk (now twice) of undercooked pork is concerning. By now the bernaise has congealed at the table, we're going on 90 mins and half our table is waiting on their entrees still. We see other diners getting their steak first, never mind that we're on round 3 and waiting. Staff start to avoid our table. It's bad, just really bad. Steaks finally come and round 3 is finally cooked as ordered. They bring fresh sides (sans the awful mac) , and fresh sauces. They didn't offer us dessert, never recognized the occasions I listed on the res, but probably just as well - we just wanted to go. It was ~2 hours and they close at 10p, so near close anyway. Only reason why this isn't 1 star is they comp'd the food, we paid the 2 bottles of wine and tipped as if it were the full check. The manager clearly has had training focused on letting the guest feel heard but it would've gone a long way if he'd said something early...there was clearly something off in the kitchen. I'm certain what I perceived as our refires not being prioritized while half our table ate was likely in reality that other tables needed refires too. That drag, if it was happening all night, prob had more impact on table turns than the cold weather. Would I go back? Prob not...it's Palm Springs, there's other steakhouses an uber away. Yes it's convenient to dine on property, esp first or last nights of a stay but the menu is so tiny and it's pretty sad to not be able to execute it properly. I also think a steakhouse should be able to carry a basic $50-$60 filet, esp to balance out the wagyu, tomahawk options...maybe they think women or lighter eaters should only have fish or salad option, idk? Just a miss on all levels.

Holy crap! This place recently reopen and it went from being my favorite steak house to the worst I've ever experienced. Overpriced and the food is horrid. Gray steaks no flavor tuff and $165? So sad too bad.
The best Waygu filet we've had....
Dinner at the Edge Steakhouse was excellent. Service was attentive and friendly, the view at night of Palm Springs was fabulous, the food excellent. Our Waygu filet mignon were just amazing!!!! Would highly recommend.
Dinner for 4- Too much fanfare and not superb food!
Dinner for 4- Too much fanfare and not superb food! Caesar salad not even fair, scallops were tasteless ( needed seasoning), desserts = average at best. This is NOT a top notch restaurant AND expensive for not even average. The date cake at the end was ever so dry and tasteless. If they used an Ina Caesar they would have been ahead. Tomatoes on Caesar= not necessary--
SKIP IT. Food lacks flavor and just not worth it.
Shocked to see so many rave reviews when our experience was anything but. I do have to mention the view, it is of course spectacular, however for hotel guests, as we were, the views can be had simply by walking along the edge boardwalk! I was annoyed upon arrival to see a basically empty restaurant after being told that it was sold out and impossible to move us to an earlier seating time. Perhaps it cleared out just prior to our arrival, but perhaps not. Moving on to the food. Party of 3 and none of us enjoyed our meals. Presentation was very nice but if flavor and taste isn’t there to accompany it, what’s the point? Caesar and chop salad were flavorless and how do you ruin a Caesar salad? For the mains, the salmon, ravioli and chicken were tasteless, very small but plated nicely. Cocktails were the only good thing we “ate” all evening. I Do not recommend going! This isn’t the restaurant that should be representing the Ritz as their premier restaurant, as quality as a restaurant is severely lacking!
Christmas Eve Prix-Fixe
The Edge at the Ritz Carlton in Rancho Mirage is a beautiful restaurant with a great view. We were here for Christmas Eve dinner, which was 4 courses for $220 p.p. which ended up being over-priced, but not unexpected, nor was it exorbitant for the quality of most of the dishes, and for the service which was very good but not exceptional. There was an extraordinary amuse-bouche served first of scrambled egg and caviar - honestly one of the bests bites of the meal. This was followed by 4 courses (each with 3-4 options). I had an uneventful wedge salad with a good dressing next, followed by baked oysters "Coachella" which were disappointing, barely there, and served on an unnecessary bed of rock salt. The petit filet was next - and was one of the best steaks I have had in a long time - though it arrived cooked rare when ordered medium rare - this was quickly rectified. It is in those small but inconvenient missteps where the Edge underwhelms. The desert was chocolate sticky toffee pudding which was very good but could have used more whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream to cut the rich chocolate. All in all, the food is very good, the view is very good, the service is very good, and the price is very high. Not quite Michelin level food or service - but perhaps on their way.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.

Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal
So easy and had a prime time which I can never seem to get on normal res apps. So worth it
Got impossible NYC res
instead of waiting weeks I got my 4 charles reservation instantly
Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?

Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
