After many random nights of trying to walk in and get a seat, we finally managed to get one where we had to wait less than 20 minutes on a Wednesday night. While we waited, the hostess at the front was super nice and led us back to nightmoves(?) next door for a drink and to now wait in the cold. Before we knew it, our table was ready. We sat at the bar. It was packed and the vibe is low key pretentious tbh (from guests, not servers) but the food met the high bar. - warm bread (5/5): everything you want bread and butter to be. - yellowfin tuna (5/5): that sesame crust was bomb. Just a great, unique delicious plate. - salad (4.5/5): refreshing, well balanced - the squid (4.5/5): quite the statement dish. This was actually quite large. Perfectly charred. Didn't love the type of peppers that accompanied it but overall a very well prepped dish. - ricotta gnudi (5/5): these were pillows of ricotta and I would definitely order this again. Quite rich. - toffee pudding (5/5): save room for dessert! This was surprisingly delicious. Loved the sweet and salty combo. I found myself spooning every last drop of this. The only thing I found slightly disappointing was the wine, honestly the ones tried were good but considering they are known for its wine, I didn't really find the ones I tried too interesting. Was it worth the wait and effort to come dine here? I gotta say that it was. The food was just very solid and the ambiance felt like I was in someone's home. Next time, as hard as it can be, I'll try to make a reservation ahead of time or come again during an off hour.

Be the first to ReplySecuring a last-minute 10 pm reservation at Four Horsemen
Securing a last-minute 10 pm reservation at Four Horsemen on a random weeknight was a rare and exciting find. The hype surrounding the place had us eagerly anticipating our visit. Our household was split on the rating, with me leaning towards a 4 and my partner a solid 5. A fair compromise would be around 4.2-4.5, but I rounded up due to an unfortunate dairy-free limitation preventing me from trying the yellowfin tuna, a dish I was looking forward to the most. Despite the slight disappointment, we ordered an array of dishes and wine. The dark and intimate atmosphere added to the experience, though the wait staff was a bit standoffish--a common trait in Greenpoint, not entirely unexpected. For the price, Four Horsemen may seem a tad overrated. While some dishes didn't blow my mind considering their price tags, my partner vehemently disagrees. We both found solace in our shared appreciation for the dungeness crab, indicating that seafood might be their sweet spot. However, the braised leek toast left us puzzled. Overall, I recommend everyone to try the experience, and for my people able to try diary I think your experience would rate higher than mine. Despite the dairy-free hiccup, I'd be open to trying again.

There is a lot to like here, including the room (nicely sound deadened), the friendly staff and the meal experience, but there's just enough to keep this from being a 5 star stop. The wine selection is expansive and eclectic (be prepared to hear the words funky, edgy and offbeat in many descriptions), although they'll let you taste anything before you make a final decision, which is very nice. We found multiple glasses to our liking by the end of the evening. The staff is super friendly and attentive. Never did we have to wonder if our drink or food order was coming, nor did we have to worry about finished items being cleaned away before new items came to the table. The menu is designed for sharing, organized from smaller portions to larger portions. The standout items for us were all at the top of the menu... the bread is out of this world amazing, and the gnocchi fritter with prosciutto was absolutely divine. The trout, on the other hand, was small and plated with mushrooms that didn't really add anything to the presentation or the taste of the dish, and the pork loin was covered in a sour cherry sauce that hid the impressiveness of the cut. While the room does sound very nice early in the evening, there is clearly 8-10 more seats in the restaurant than the acoustics were designed for. When the place is at capacity, it sounds like any other small restaurant. If you get a chance to experience a seating when one table is empty in each of the three rows (very small room), you'll start to appreciate the clear amount of thought that went into the sound dampening.

Very small portions, very big prices! Food was nothing to write home about. The place is small & cozy with nice staff but honestly after trying 7-8 items on the menu we left feeling very unsatisfied & puzzled as far as what the hype is all about!

I had lunch here recently and left feeling like I was fleeced. Food was good, service was fine, and the place was cute. The prices and portions, however were beyond unreasonable. The curry egg was $18 - for ONE egg! The ribeye was $45 for maybe 3 or 4 oz of beef. I ordered half the menu and was unpleasantly surprised by how little food I got each time the dishes came out. For the portion sizes, I think the whole menu was double the prices that they should have been. I have eaten in many high end expensive restaurants but I have always felt like I got what you paid for, even if the flavors weren't my favorite. I can't say that is true here. I would not eat here again if someone offered to treat me.

I had a decent experience but overall this just missed the mark after factoring in the cost. My friend and I scored a last minute reservation for brunch and shared five plates. A few of them were special, but the rest left something to be desired. Curried Egg - my favorite, something I haven't encountered before that looks rather plain in the photo but has so many flavors that marry with the egg beautifully. For $18, by far the most I've coughed up for an egg Beef Tartare - pretty average, but with a hint of horseradish that I didn't like Scallop - ONE scallop in a creamy garlicky sauce, with julienned daikon on top. Delicious, but really tiny and we couldn't stop laughing at how expensive it was ($26) Beef Tendon - sliced extremely thinly and served in too small of a portion, and the flavor was pretty one dimensional of citrus. Beef tendon is typically a "leftover", less valuable part of the cow and seems especially overpriced in this case Oysters - my friend's favorite. Fresh, and the "ocean" taste was mellowed out by the "salsa" on top We weren't in the mood for day drinking and thus missed out on the wine offerings that this restaurant is known for. But we did see several customers doing boozy brunch. Generally, the plates we ordered ranged from ok to terrific, and we felt one or two were worth the price. Service was attentive, explaining the menu to us and clearing our table quickly to make way for the next dish. However, the space itself was pretty tight, and since we were at a table in the middle of foot traffic, waiters bumped my elbows moving about the room. The overall bill post-tax and tip was about $150, and we hopped to a cafe after since we were still hungry. This place is most likely a one-time visit for me, but the menu does continually change so never say never.

Food is always amazing!! Service is awesome! The ambiance is very lovely and romantic. Still dreaming about the Yuzu Ricotta Tuna
Be the first to ReplyDon't sleep on the warm house bread.
I'm going to be dreaming about it for the next few years. It would have been the star of the entire meal, but the Pork Loin Chop stole the show. It was cooked to perfection! Everything else was also really tasty but those are the one's I'm going to call out. The service was great. Our server helped is pick a bottle of wine and it was delicious. The inside is a low light intimate kind of place, but it can get a bit noisy because of how small the restaurant is. Recommend this place for a more laid back fine dining vibe!
Be the first to ReplyWine SELECTION is OUT OF THIS WORLD.
Wine enthusiasts dream and if you done know anything about wine well this is a great place to start. FOOD HERE is worth the long waits. Service and staff here are knowledgeable and loves the job. The customers are friendly and the vibe is great. Date night, dine with yourself because why not, catching up with friends, just come make a resy!
Be the first to ReplyOverall food is good with nice service.
Rotisserie chicken is the highlight of meal! Skin is crispy and meat is tender.

The flavors of the food were amazing, the sweet potato tiramisu is a must order. Ambience was really relaxing and well curated. One point off because of price based on serving size of salad, it was a good pour on the wine though.
Be the first to ReplyGood food but not at all Michelin quality.
Also, the service is complete chaos, I would have a given it a 5 star rating if they did not have a Michelin star. Wine collection is average, nothing special. Worth one visit, but I don't care to go again.
Be the first to ReplyDefinitely a top 5 restaurant.
The menu was unique and changed regularly. Definitely the best American food I've ever had. It was hard to pick a favorite item because everything was so good. The service and vibe was phenomenal as well.Bread: 5/5A must order and maybe order 2 orders so you have enough to soak up all the sauces. Truly some of the best bread I've ever had Burrata with cabbage: 5/5The best cabbage I've ever had and it went so well with the burrata. I maybe wish there was more burrata but probably just because of how delicious it was, I left full after the meal Head on shrimp: 5/5Powerful flavors and an amazing sauce. I wish I had more bread for the oil used in this dish. You could eat the shell and it added an amazing texture Fried chicken thigh 5/5What a crispy chicken! It was somewhat like a cutlet and the broccolini was amazing with itSweet potato tiramisu 5/5A perfect balance between sweet and salty. The sweet potato paired well and the top of the tiramisu was both light and creamy I would definitely go again. It's a great date night place and a great place to bring a group and try everything
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely phenomenal meal from start to finish.
So glad we were able to get a reservation after having notify on Resy for weeks.I'll get the one con out of the way: when we arrived on time for our 5:30pm reservation, the host said "just so you know, there's a table booked after you." They didn't mention a time limit or anything, just that someone has a booking after us. I have no idea why they felt compelled to say this to us, OBVIOUSLY there's gonna be someone next lol. Left a bad taste in my mouth like we were being rushed before we even sat down, but luckily the rest of the staff were fantastic.Starting with our waiter/sommelier. Holy cow was he knowledgeable. He was more than happy to talk us through the wine list, offering recommendations based on our preferences and what we planned to order, letting us taste those recommendations (with generous pours), before we settled on a certain glass.Their wine list - both by the bottle and by the glass - is extensive with lots of unusual, funky wines (which I love), as well as your standard fare. The food menu is very creative and the portions are substantial given the caliber of restaurant... we ordered 7 dishes - 5 tapas-sized, 1 larger, and 1 dessert - all to share and my partner couldn't finish one of them (as much as she would have loved to!) because she was so full. Caveat - we don't have the biggest stomachs - but still, I think we ordered more than enough. The flavors were well-balanced and super tasty! Nothing too heavy or light, and each dish complimented the next. The menu changes regularly and they also have "specials," which we learned were just dishes from their lunch service lol. Still, very good! It's pretty dark/intimate in the restaurant hence the dark photos. We ended up dining for like 2.5 hours or so... definitely doesn't seem to be a time limit! (Again, don't know why the host had to say anything at the start). Loved every second of it.Definitely a special occasion-type place. Will absolutely return!

I went here with a few friends and we tried a variety of things off the menu. Everything was spectacular. Portions were small but I knew that going in. Highly recommend booking a reservation here!

We got almost everything on the menu. I believe the menu changes frequently, but the Golden Chicken was amazing!

Sweet, chill, delicious Friday lunch with my g-friend! It was a brisk Friday to MlK wkend and we arrived at 12:20 lucky enough to get two seats at bar without reservationBartender was super patient with our wine selection process and we shared the scallops (good but not easy to share and too pricey), butternut squash toast (perfect and you must order) and the fried chicken (delectable, boneless and comes with greens). Their Michelin star is worth itWould definitely go back here!
Be the first to ReplyAte here for the first time this weekend.
Overall, disappointed. With 1 Michelin Star I would've expected more exciting things than a a single soft boiled egg covered with mayonnaise on it (partially my fault for even ordering it), very curious on how they arrived at the price of $19 (insult to injury they charged me $24), other than that had a scallop crudo that was fine, rosemary fritters that were underwhelming, sweetbreads which were the best part of the meal, and a very average butter bean curry dish. I know they change the menu often so hopefully this was just an off night. 1 star
Be the first to ReplyStopped by and decided to try my luck with a bar walk-in.
Luckily, I was able to snag a spot for a late night drink and munchies. The food was fantastically delicious, cooked to perfection. The wines recommended by the bartender paired fantastically with the food and dessert we ordered. One of the few gems that live up to the incredible hype. Another favorite in Williamsburg :)
Be the first to ReplyWe had the most amazing lunch here.
Could only get reservations at 11am but took them. What a great place. Wines were all amazing - loved the orange wine recommendations but also loved the whites and reds (we love all wines). Food was amazing - flatbread, scallop, parpadelle, squash toast and beef tartare was all amazing! Dessert and dessert wine were also amazing! Can't wait to come back!!
Be the first to ReplyGreat wine bar! However I definitely would recommend
Great wine bar! However I definitely would recommend framing your visit as coming for wine and small bites -- it's definitely pricy if you want to eat dinner sized portions. I did love the service, and the wine recommendation by our server was delicious. Food wise, I would not recommend the clams -- there was double the shell for the number of clams we got and the clams were small. I would also not recommend the tuna, it was pretty simple and not stand out. I would recommend the bread (we ended up getting two orders even!), the beans (complex flavors) and the porkchops (you should know that there is a decent amount of fat on it).
Be the first to ReplyWill took care of us super well.
we don't have any reservation but we seated at the bar,Will did everything as a professional bartender he knows any specific wine l mean he can recommend some wine which extremely great for us.Highly recommend.

Snagged a Friday lunch resy so bussed it over for a boozy midday meal. It was packed with people at the bar and tables. Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly, guiding us through the wine list. We ordered four dishes to share, which was a good amount for two hungry people: lettuces salad had a refreshing lime vinaigrette which I liked a lot but the bf didn't care for. Next up was the tomato tartine. This wasn't what I imagined and I didn't care for it. Very thin slices of tomato atop a thick aioli on a piece of very nutty bread. It didn't work for me. The bread was too nutty and overwhelming and I'm not a fan of mayo. We enjoyed the spicy mussels a lot but we're longing for a hunk of bread to soak up the juices. We finished our meal with the agnolotti in a corn and butter sauce. The pasta was very delicate and tasty. I'd go back for dinner as the menu is more expansive. It was a nice lunch, maybe not as memorable as I'd anticipated but still good.

Great vibe; very approachable yet the staff is extremely knowledgeable and happy to pour you tastes of a range of wines. The food was exceptional! The scallop dish with ginger, chili and roe especially stood out. Wish I could call this place my Living Room.
