The Fulton New York Reviews from The Last Year
Beautiful vibes for outdoor dining with a view.
Walked in on lunchtime on Saturday, no res but since it was still a bit chilly it wasn't packed and menus were flying all over the place (because of the wind), several tables moved indoors after testing the outdoor experience. We shared some raw seafood mini tower app, tomato salad and got 3 entrees - swordfish sandwich was on the drier side, which was to be expected... lobster roll (served cold), which is not my preference but was fine since I was craving a lobster roll (on the small side), and the clam pasta was good. We also shared a crudo which was nice but forget which one it was (came w 6 sliced pieces easy for sharing between the 3 of us).

Visiting NYC, love all other Jean-Georges restaurants we've been to in the world. Very hard to find the actual restaurant (we wandered around for some time, weirdly through another restaurant) first of all the view was W O W!! Wondered why we were walked past all the tables with an amazing view to the back of the restaurant with a partial view when the place was empty almost the entire time we were there (all the nice view tables were still empty when we left). Never felt like we were being hosted-asked if we were ready to order, no suggestions, no checking up to see if we were enjoying. The food was good, but not wow. Same with the cocktails. As I'm working this I'm realizing that my original rating of 4 was too high. 3.6 :(

Had a reservation for this place a few weeks ahead and we were seated on the second floor with a beautiful view of the Brooklyn Bridge. I had their prime NY steak that came with roasted heirloom tomatoes and served with a nice kick of salsa verde and herbs. We also had their marinated chargrilled chicken that was served with sweet potatoes and had such vibrant flavors! Loved coming to this location!
It saddens me to write this review.
For months, since moving to the area I have been looking forward to dining at the Fulton. I write this as a person who worked in the service industry for years and was trained for fine dining. I'll start with the service. Three people at the host stand. When I walked up, they asked if we had a reservation, to which I responded no. They shooed us to the side and said to wait to add our name to the list and the wait time for a table would be 30 minutes. We spent 10 minutes alone waiting for them to take our name and noticed many empty tables. The 30 minute wait turned to an hour. When we returned because we hadn't been texted after an hour, they said they didn't have a table yet. While still noticing the same tables empty, I asked what about that table? It's been empty since we arrived. "Oh! Yeah, ok, you can have that table", why wasn't that offered to begin with? Why shroud a dining experience with the illusion of long wait times? Now remember this is an hour since we set foot in the restaurant to get a table for dinner. Next, I'll describe the ambiance. It is a beautiful location on the water with a view of the Brooklyn Bridge. This is the highlight of the restaurant. The decor, environment and the name Jean-Georges is the only reason people dine here. It isn't for the food or service. Finally, we are seated and the server drops off menus and leaves. We ordered an appetizer and entrees. We usually start with dessert, to which we were informed that half of the desserts weren't available. So our food arrives. Our appetizer was the carpaccio, which was a small spoon full. No bread or anything to go with it. It was underwhelming. The burger was presented beautifully, only to be flavorless. I asked my husband to take a bite to which he responds "hmm, I taste onions and nothing else, where's the meat?" Flavorless. He ordered the fried swordfish, and noted nothing special about the dish itself. Overall, big disappointment. It is my belief that quality service begins the moment a diner sets foot in an establishment. The way customers are greeted sets the tone for the experience that follows. Do better Jean-Georges.
Recently had lunch there.
The setting is wonderful . As would be expected from Jean-George, the food was great. However, the service was really terrible and spoiled what could have been a perfect meal. The waitress arrived way too soon to take orders. We ordered a bottle of champagne to start. We had to remind the waitress to refill glasses. The food arrived in a timely fashion and was excellent. We ordered a bottle of Chardonnay. The first choice ($82) the waitress claimed was not available. So we ordered the next ($180). When this was not served, we reminded waitress that we would like to have the wine with our meal. She said the manager had to approve the order(!). When it still did not arrive, we said forget it, we will just order by the glass. It then appeared. All was well until the bottle of Chardonnay in an ice bucket the waitress put next to another table was taken away by the waiter for that table. So $180 bottle half full disappeared. Fortunately we were able to retrieve it by getting the attention of another waiter. I asked the person who made our reservation, "Can this really be a Jean-George restaurant??"

The food at the restaurant was good, though not super delicious. However, the service was incredibly fast. Our main courses arrived before we had even finished our appetizers, which felt a bit rushed and was not particularly enjoyable.
Great views, great service, and great food made this
Great views, great service, and great food made this anniversary celebration very special!

Awesome brunch
Had a wonderful brunch here to celebrate our 40th anniversary. We had so much great food and drink. Shared for the table their longevity noodles with lobster - so good. Prices are quite high - paying for the name and location of course.

i cannot believe how little quatity is offered in the dinner pasta - English Pea and Cashew Agnolotti. it's egregious and a very poor form of service. shameful that a Jean georges restaurant is resorting to such tactics to make profit.
Not a very good experience
A beautiful restaurant by the river, but I must say my friends and I had a not so good lunch. the service was not good, the food took forever to arrive and it was not as expected ...the sizes are pretty small and not to tasty. The prices of pretty expensive. I think they had a service problem that day (the waitress apologizes for it). We will not return...

Had dinner here the other day and was very impressed with the service, however the food is just okay nothing too dreamy. The restaurant has a beautiful location and is waterfront, so whatever the restaurant doesn't deliver with its food it compensates for with its location and beautiful views.
Breathtaking view… everything else without note!
The place is well furnished and the view is truly breathtaking. Everything else is not noteworthy. I was there for dinner with a friend in March, the place wasn't full but they put us at a table where one of the two had her back to the view, which is one of the reasons why we chose this restaurant. We asked if it was possible to change tables, but we were denied. We ordered a bottle of champagne and they served it hot. Refrigerated only upon our request. We ordered two tasting menus. Only "to share" dishes arrived. The first was a raw platter, with three pieces of everything. We asked why there were three pieces for two and we were told "we always serve it like this". We pointed out that we had taken two tasting menus, not one to share. The answer hasn't changed. “If you always serve it like this for two people, does that mean that if I take the plateau alone you will serve me a piece and a half?” Question that remained unanswered… Followed by a plate of rocket with grated pecorino and a kind of chopped cucumber. Not understanding exactly what it was, we asked the waitress, who could only tell us the name in English, without being able to give us any further explanation. Checking on the Internet we discovered it was a sort of cucumber... it wasn't that difficult to explain, we just had to try... presentation of the dish, embarrassing!!! Followed by octopus with mozzarella all floating in a lake of oil... senseless dish... Followed by noodels with lobster. Absolutely tasteless noodles, cooked alone without any seasoning to which pieces of lobster with all the carapace have been added... all accompanied by a plate of mushrooms... unsatisfying. The only dish not to be shared, the dessert... an embarrassing and very sad cookie... without a minimum of decoration... a biscuit thrown on a saucer... what can I say... At the end of this embarrassing dinner we were given the bill before it was requested (and we weren't the last...). 5 stars for the view 0 stars for food and service
Get the lobster in asian noodles.
Everyone loved everything! Four bridge view. Tues was better than weekend in terms of crowds and tourists. Walk thru tin bldg next door. Request the terrace. A view resto w great food. Go!
Amazing view of downtown Brooklyn over the water from
Amazing view of downtown Brooklyn over the water from Manhattan coupled with an aromatic lobster longevity noodles flavorful to the palette. Hopper shrimp appetizer was good. Only thing bland was the server. He added nothing to the experience and forgot the order of asparagus.

The food is always outstanding when me and my husband come here. Could not ask for better service, the waitress we had was knowledgeable about the menu and gave us good advice on what to order. Will definitely be coming back!
We were so disappointed.
We went for our anniversary and they completely forgot about us. The appetizer and wine took forever to come and we ended up leaving before our entree came. I honestly think they forgot about us. You think Jean Georges and you think excellent service, but that is not what we got. I can't overstate my disappointment.
Very nice atmosphere and view.
The food is good but for the price, the portion is tiny. The ingredients are fresh and the taste is on the milder side. One highlight is the bread, which is both soft and buttery, so I asked two of them. Given the many options in nyc for higher end food scene, I am not sure if I will be back again.
Superb
We had dinner on a quiet Sunday evening the restaurant if you come early. The place is looking over the Brooklyn bridge and prides itself for the highest quality fish around. I had a delicious sole and was offered to finish to have it fillet or not I chose to do it myself. The taste was spotted on as I remember it growing up in France. Staff was discreet and yet efficient. The prices are market based on the expensive side and yet totally justified.
An absolute delight: delicious seafood and knowledge staff
We had a lovely dinner at the Fulton. All of the seafood was so fresh and absolutely delicious and being looked after by Hemingway was a delight: his detailed knowledge of the dishes was valuable and most welcome.
The Fulton NYC - Ok but nothing special
Restaurant was difficult to find. We walked round the building twice before establishing where the front entrance was. Not signed very well. The restaurant appeared to be connected to another bar which confused the situation even more. When booking, you can choose dining room or atrium, but there was no description on what the differences were on the website. When we did finally find the entrance, the staff were very friendly and greeted us on our arrival. Our waitress was also very nice and friendly. When we were seated the receptionist passed us over to a young boy dressed in casual clothing. Whilst he was friendly and polite, it did seem rather strange or out of place should I say. There were staff that walked around to fill our water glasses, I think only 1 of them smiled, the rest didn’t seem happy to be there. Nice venue with a nice view of the bridge. We did ask to be sat with good views of the bridge, hard to say if this was done or not as there were better seats vacant but the view was ok where we were sat. We were given complimentary bread and water and a free cake and ice cream desert as was to celebrate our engagement which was a nice touch. The food in my opinion was over priced. Very small portions. I ordered shellfish tortellini and it came with 4 small pieces of pasta. It was nice, just slightly over priced. I probably wouldn’t go back here again. It was nice to try but nothing special. I think if it was signed better and we were sat in seats with a better view of the bridge it would have made the experience much better. But the food wasn’t anything special. Or maybe we just didn’t order the best dishes perhaps.
Beautiful views, incredible wine and food. 10/10
This is tricky to find so allow a bit of extra time. I was slightly worried as what I had booked as it looked like a food court with a cinema etc. But I stepped in The Fulton and it was stunning. Ask for a table upstairs facing the bridges. It was really beautiful and we were blown away. One of the best restaurants ever. Views and stunning wine and food. It was fabulous. GO!! XX
Scenic Delights: A Culinary Experience with a View
Breathtaking views paired with delectable dishes made our visit memorable. Even with a large group, every dish hit the mark. Worth the visit for the vistas alone, and the prices were reasonable!
