I've been coming here for 20 years now.
I've always loved the food but this past time I tried the Parma for the first time ever and oh my god, AMAZING. I'm mad at myself for not trying it sooner. It's my new favorite. Everything is great here though. The sandwiches are perfect and always have the best quality toppings (i.e. the finely shredded lettuce is exquisite and quintessential for a true Italian sub). I love their sides too, the antipasto salad and macaroni salads are outstanding. I also really enjoy their premade meals. Caesar salad, garlic bread, lasagna, stuffed shells, meatballs, it's all great. Love this place.

This neighborhood gem is worth a trip from wherever you live. Excellent, authentic old-school Italian cuisine, as well as tasty sandwiches and a great selection of Italian wines. I used them to cater a dinner party and got rave reviews.

Outstanding quality - Rueben, Chicken Parmesan, and Tuna, prepared to perfection. Deli atmosphere - won't disappoint.
Be the first to ReplyTheir Chicken Parmesan sandwich was terrible.
it was soggy and I couldn't even hold it in my hands as it fell apart. the taste was bad too. When I went back to the store and told the owners, they didn't apologize and sid that's how they make it. The owner's wife said many people eat that sandwich with fork and knife. I told her she didn't understand what a sandwich was. I have eaten many Chicken Parmesan sandwiches in my life and never had that terrible experience. Plus, it tasted bad too. to their credit, one of the guys there asked if I wanted a refund which I refused. I just wanted them to be aware of it, but all in all they acted offended not sorry for their terrible product.

Seemed cool but I won't be spending money there. If you're a regular you get treated well but otherwise not. Tiny place, smells nice.
Be the first to ReplyTried the Pompeii sub with LTO, pesto mayo, and hot peppers.
The sub was filled generously and the hot peppers tasted like a house made blend. A solid spot for an Italian sub.
Be the first to ReplyThis continues to be the best sandwich shop in the area.
They also have a great selection of deli and other goods.
Be the first to ReplyWorst service ever! Terrible phone call.
They cancelled my order because allergic to tree nuts, specifically cashews and pistachios. I order delivery regularly and always careful about noting my tree nut allergy. For goodness sakes, they make sandwiches. It's not high risk. But guy on the phone said it's too risky. Guess he's going out of business soon. Don't recommend this place because they don't understand food allergies. I never had a delivery order cancelled bc a person has a nut allergy.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is a hidden gem.
You can find great subs, great imported italian grocery items like wine olives, lemon products, treats. They also have delicious prepared frozen italian dishes like veal Parmesan that you can take and bake for convenient dinners
Be the first to ReplyOur favorite place in Vienna for sandwiches.
Never disappointed. Ordering online is easy or just stop in. Guys behind the counter are great. We've tried many sandwiches and all are good. Lots of fresh ingredients and I like how they wrap the warm sandwiches in foil so they're warm when you get home. Our favorites are the Reuben Panini, Italian Sausage, Peppers and Onions. During Mardi Gras season, you must try their Muffuletta. Once in awhile, we treat ourselves to one of their freshly made cannoli. Nice crispy shells and a delicious, not too sweet filling. They have freezers full of all kinds of pastas and other yummies. Highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyOverall, very pleasant experience at Italian Gourmet.
It's a little neighborhood shop that has a nice feeling because the staff are so nice. I see that a lot of people complained about a rude lady but the guy I talked to was super nice. I called ahead to ask about onions since I am allergic and he answered my questions about ingredients thoroughly, even taking the time to read the ingredients list on a few items for me. I got a sandwich and some snacks and everything was good.
Be the first to ReplyNot a fan of this place.
Rude people, mushy bread on my chicken park sandwich, and the tiramisu was eh. Can't believe an Italian deli uses such soft bread. Prefer the sandwich place down the road, BY FAR.

I've been coming here since the 90s and it remains one of my favorite delis. Be aware that it is suited for take out. The sandwiches are great and there is plenty of other food you can take to go. It's small and can get a bit crowded during peak times, but I love that you can now order online for an easy pick up experience. Definitely a Vienna staple; I will continue to come back!

The best sandwiches! This place is exactly what we have been looking for ever since we moved to the area. We have tried all the other local favorites over the last couple of years and this is by far the best Italian sandwich shop / deli. My fiancé is from CT and he is hard to please when it comes a to a good deli sandwich. This place is the real deal. Very friendly and efficient staff. And the shop is super cute- can't wait to try more items.

That lady behind the counter is a sourpuss don't ever expect her to smile. Ever.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing sandwiches.
Chicken parm and meatball, both were excellent. Fair prices. Friendly people.

The owners and workers aren't friendly or welcoming and the sandwiches are either hit or miss depending on who is working. Some days the sandwiches are filled with meat and other times it's more lettuce and tomatoes. For $10 and the sandwich to only have a thin slice of meat it isn't worth the money and you can get more if you go to Subway. The only consistent item is the bread and how fresh it is.

We ordered three sandwiches for our family but yet when my spouse went to pay he realized he forgot his wallet at home. They allowed him to take the food and sent an email for payment. We've been there before - many times but not so much that we are on a first name basis or anything. (However, my point is that it's possible they recognized him as a prior customer.) Regardless, this is the type of small-town customer service that will always bring us back. Really, I was so impressed -- not just at the level of trust but in keeping us from a disruption, cold food, and a second trip.

Stumbled on this gem while looking for a closer alternative to my go to Italian sub spot (the Italian Store) in Arlington. It's always a trek for me living in Chantilly but one I make when I'm really in the mood. They were the only place that has hard sub rolls, at least I thought.......until now! This looks to be a real mom and pop operation and they have troves of Italian specialty treasures. I got the Parma with all the fixings, on a hard roll of course. The quality, the freshness...chefs kiss!!! This sandwich was delish and I will definitely be back again, and again, and again.
Be the first to ReplyThe staff was very friendly and helpful.
You can tell that they take pride in the quality of their food. I got the Parma with Italian sauce and all of the topping! It was delicious and really satisfied my craving for an Italian sub. I'm excited to go back and check out their family meals that they make.

I've grown up with Italian Gourmet and my family has been long-time fans! It's the perfect combination of convenience and deliciousness. They have a wide range of prepared foods, sandwiches, frozen ready-to-eat items, and grocery goods. My go-to during a weekday is one of their fresh sandwiches! While seemingly simple, there's something so delicious about their food. I also highly recommend their desserts (especially their cannolis!)
Be the first to ReplyI'm never in this area.
But I will make a point to return. Cramped! However you will find hidden gems or gifts. I had purchased oils, spices, and chocolate treats for the holidays.
Be the first to ReplyI order dinner here every 2 weeks.
Their Parma sand is to die for! Everyone on it including oil, vinegar, onions and their sweet peppers (roasted peppers). I sometimes eat my sandwich and crave more! THIS PLACE IS A MUST!!!
Be the first to ReplyGreat little hole in the wall.
We got paninis tonight and they were delicious! So glad we stopped here to try. Highly recommended.
Be the first to ReplyLove this place.
The sandwiches are strong (best cheesesteak, aka steak and cheese) around. Nice little grocery items and excellent frozen pastas. Local place and the people there are really nice.
