Great food in a very nice atmosphere. Great service, also suitable for families. We were recommended to order several dishes to share and we went a bit overboard. Still ate everything because it was so good! Only the chocolate dessert was pretty unimaginative.

Great ambience with low ceilings and the vibe of a Swiss mountain lodge but where did the food go? I bet a deli in Downtown Mogadishu has a better selection and yet this place was packed. Obviously doesn’t hurt that it is in the tourist hotspot of The Funk Zone, but young Molly and I were so unimpressed that we ordered Brussels sprouts and a wedge salad and moved onto lusher pastures down the street. Hats off to the Italian maitre des who worked hard to get us seated, and maybe they can now set him a new task of fixing the menu.
Be the first to ReplyFood tasty, but overall, will not go again.
The menu is super limited. The popcorn appetizer is excellent! We understand that the food is served "family style". We ordered corn bread, Brussel sprouts, and fried chicken to share. The brussels came out first (huge portion, way too much for 2 people), then the cornbread (perfect size for 2 to share), and 30 minutes later (no joke) the fried chicken came out. A surprise was that it was served with grits, which is new, and not advertised on the menu. All very good, but the timing was awkward, who wants to eat brussels and corn bread, then wait a half an hour for chicken? We were almost full by the time the chicken arrived. It really took away from our overall satisfaction of the meal. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, but the music is very irritating! boom beat dance music. Super pricey for the overall experience. We probably won't go again.
Be the first to ReplyLet down for lunch
Lark was one of to go places when in Santa Barbara so when we heard it had now opened at lunchtimes, we gave it a much anticipated go! Yet our experience was that the lunch menu was extremely limited with limited to a good few egg dishes and a not so great fried chicken. Lunch was a total and utter let down.
Be the first to ReplyNot worth the hype!!
We had heard good things about the Lark, but boy were we disappointed. Service was poor at best, bathrooms were dirty, out of order and not maintained and many areas of the restaurant need upkeep and regular maintenance. Maybe they've changed ownership or managers. THERE ARE BETTER CHOICES IN THE AREA! TOMAS, BOUCHON, LA QUITA are all similar priced and offer a much better experience.

Loved everything we ordered at The Lark. Dishes are served family style so we shared quite a few options between four adults - everything was delicious. It was a perfect choice for dinner in Santa Barbara for our family (kids loved it too).
Be the first to ReplyGood experience
PROS -good wine selection -delicious and creative food items -great service from Laurel (?) -good vibes -food reasonably priced except for oysters at $4 each and way too tiny -friendly front desk checkin CONS -very very hard to find parking -wines a bit high priced -bathrooms dirty

Loved this place! Fresh ingredients, inventive menu items, lovely location, and excellent service. Lots of shaded outdoor space, set off from main drag so limited noise. Highly recommend the Brussels sprouts, but honestly everything was great—fried chicken, pasta, oysters, cocktails….
Be the first to ReplyRather disappointing. Does not live up to reputation
Rather disappointing evening meal. Service was slow to start. Menu limited and a sharing dish experience which is hard if someone in the group has allergens. Food was underwhelming. Would not recommend for a family.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing Hanger steak
The bartenders were extremely professional and knowledgeable! We love eating at the bar just to have the friendly interaction with the bartenders. The ambience was great! We ordered a few apps and the hanger steak to share and it was incredible! The popcorn the hand out is so addicting! Must go if you are in Santa Barbra!!
Be the first to ReplyTried and true. Still one of the better restaurants in town.
As one of the very first restaurants to open in the Funk Zone several years ago, Lark hit the ground running and has been able to retain its position as one of the best in SB. Service is knowledgeable and anticipatory. Food is reliably very good. Wine list is serviceable.

Excellent food, great service and very good wines. A mention to Kevin, he was so nice and helpful, suggesting and explaining all courses. Highly recommended

My lamb belly dish was just to die for and the salted chocolate ganache was just as amazing. Combined with the help of the waiter in finding the right wine combinations, this was a perfect dinner that will be remembered for a long time.

Beautiful atmosphere - we were sat outside under the market lights and greenery. My friends and I shared the Crispy Brussels Sprouts - some of the best we've ever had! We also shared the Summer Watermelon and Persian Cucumber salad - light and refreshing. For entrees, we shared the catch of the day, which was Cod - it was prepared perfectly - and Prime Hanger Steak, which was incredibly flavorful and delicious. The side of grilled eggplant that came with it soaked in the sauce from the steak. The flavors all worked magically together. I would definitely come here next time we're in Santa Barbara!

We have eaten at The Lark a number of times over the years when visiting Santa Barbara from Colorado. It is always a highlight of our trip. The food, drinks and ambiance are exceptional and the service is always perfect. Thank you for a wonderful evening.... again and again!
Be the first to ReplyGreat meal, great service, great evening
We sat out in the garden and had the best time. The food was excellent. Dishes are to share so we had the brussel sprouts to start, the heirloom tomatoes, the daily fish special and the pasta - all were wonderful. For dessert we had the lemon verbana and the salted carmel dessert. The food was brought out at a good pace and the food quality was excellent. The server was attentive but not hovering. Will definitely be back.

We loved this restaurant. This was our best meal in Santa Barbara. Everything was awesome, the service, the pace of the food coming out, the drinks. We shared the heirloom tomatoes, the pasta and the fish.

It is great to see a restaurant doing so well and yet maintain a warm relaxing atmosphere. The food is good but the atmosphere is even better. Would definitely revisit when I am in the area.

What a find, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The dishes are to be shared and on the whole were beautifully presented and gorgeous to eat. The flavors are packed so be sure to combine well to find the right balance. Service was excellent and a small issue with one dish generously solved.

We were a group of 8 and we were all underwhelmed. We heard such amazing reviews from friends and were so excited to indulge at this upscale restaurant. We liked the Brussel sprouts and peanuts. but the fried chicken wasnt good, the fish wasnt very tasty and no one like the corn bread. weird because it was highly regarded by most people.

You can always count on The Lark for fresh, interesting, and tasty fare. At our most recent visit we enjoyed the Brussels sprouts, a red oak leaf lettuce that was so fresh that it tasted like it had just been picked, and a wonderful tomato salad. Our main courses were just as good. Service was spot on, friendly and helpful. We sat outside, but they have a very convivial dining room and bar as well.
Be the first to Replynice dinner a little set back from the street. be careful finding it
we enjoyed our meal here. I had a beautiful pasta dish, my wife a tuna sashimi. The highlight was a crispy brussels sprout dish with huge brussel sprouts with a great sauce, Once again, you can only get such fresh vegetables in restaurants out here. This is not to be missed.

Laid back, delicious. We sat on the patio, which was very nice, and covered (it was raining). Staff was extremely friendly. Everything we tried was great, I don't think you can go wrong.
Be the first to ReplyHigh end food decent prices and ambiance
Very nice ambience outdoors with fire pits flowers. The food presentation was beautiful. Nice surprises with the steak and the pork chops. Portions very very small. Overall good quality and a nice wine list. Not our favorite in Santa Barbara but nice change and wonderful staff.

What a beautiful setting, in a lovely city. This meal far exceeded what I had read or heard about. We had the Brussels sprouts, the Dill buttermilk salad, the squash, the shrimp and the fried chicken…along with delicious wine and top notch service. A must visit when in Santa Barbara.
