The Ledbury London Reviews
Inconsistent
While in some aspects there is some innovation in the menu, regrettably it serves only to detract from the experience. While the home-grown Shiitake mushrooms did not disappoint, the rest of the menu fell short with its messy flavours that do not work well together. Desserts do not have to be clever, they have to be good and good they were not. Granted, I can see why the restaurant has 3 Michelin stars, as it's not so much about the taste as it is about quality and innovation. But, compared to other 3 star restaurants that I've been to, this one fall short on the taste.
Well deserved 3 Michelin stars.
The Ledbury has been a favourite restaurant for us when in London. There is a comforting consistency in the geniality of the welcome and professionalism in the service. The lovely comfortable room and thoughtful cuisine remains unchanged over so many years. Weβre so glad they did reopen after Covid and feel the third Michelin star is well deserved.
Birthday Treat
All I have to say is died and went to food heaven. The staff are absolutely brilliant, given gifts too. Absolutely brilliant and thankyou.
Boy, do I get why they got the third MichelΓn star...
Absolutely impeccable dinner dotted with lovely gestures that made the experience all the more enjoyable: Brett Graham serving and explaining some of the dishes himself and patiently answering our questions, a little parting gift for all the guests... I genuinely would kill and happily go to prison for their truffle ice-cream. As a little improvement point, I'd say most of the staff could do with "being more Brett": a little less stiff and cold, a bit more warm and friendly.
amazing place
Having been to numerous Michelin star restaurants in London and around the world, I can confidently say that this place stands out from the rest and is my new favourite spot. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated to a high standard, creating a lovely ambience. From the lighting to the table decorations, even the glasses and cutlery, everything just had a unique touch of class that added to the overall experience.
A little disappointment
When you dine in a three Michelin star restaurant you expect absolute perfection, in the environment, in the service and above all in the food, at "The Ledbury" this unfortunately did not happen. Uncomfortable environment, small tables and annoying background noise. Good service but with some flaws, partly compensated by Martina's kindness. The food was certainly not up to the standard of a three-starred restaurant, in particular the two meat dishes, the suckling pig and the deer, were disappointing, but also in the other dishes on the menu there was at times an excessive presence of ingredients, a cuisine certainly not linked to "less is more".
Waited 5 years to be wowβd
Waited 5 years to get a table here and didnβt disappoint. Relaxed and beautiful environment, top class friendly service and then came the food. Wow - sorry I couldnβt be more creative with the praise. Just β¦ wow
Perfect evening for a very special occasion
My partner (now husband!) and I recently got married in a private ceremony and decided we wanted to visit somewhere very special for dinner afterwards. We narrowed it down to a few places and ended up choosing the Ledbury. It was just the two of us, but still our wedding meal so we wanted somewhere very special...and the Ledbury really did make it so wonderful and memorable for us, with every staff member we spoke to congratulating us. There were several little touches added to make our experience even more celebratory. The food is of course, absolutely out of this world. Thankyou to all staff at the Ledbury for making our wedding celebration an evening that we will never forget.
Good.
That The Ledbury is a lovely place to eat goes without saying. The fact that posses three Michelin stars places it among the elite in the world of gastronomy. In that respect, I would recommend the place to any connoisseur of fine food. However, I feel there were some areas which fell slightly short of perfect during our visit. We were a little surprised at no being offered an apΓ©ritif prior to eating. Snacks appeared in short order and as lovely as they undoubtably were, it would have been nice to have had the opportunity to have a glass of Champagne to start the evening. There were no complaints on the quality of the food though. Every course was absolutely fabulous. Imaginative, flavoursome and indulgent in equal measure. However, I feel that the evening may have benefitted from a short interlude before the desert courses started arriving. Service was friendly and professional, though I'm still uncertain as to the restaurant's policy on table flipping. There's certainly no mention of a time limit anywhere on the restaurant's website or literature to indicate a second sitting during the course of an evening, but we received contradictory information from the staff. And that perhaps was the reason we weren't offered an apΓ©ritif prior to eating, or a digestif with coffee. Iβm inclined to think it may have been to expedite table availability for a second sitting. Certainly, the table we had just vacated was redressed before we had left the premises. The downside of booking early dinner, I guess.
Beyond excellent
Superlatives come thick and fast for The Ledbury, but this is truly a magnificent restaurant at all levelsβfood, service, and atmosphere. Everything works so well and smoothly. I don't work in the hospitality world, but I imagine getting all these things right doesn't come easy and requires an extraordinary amount of effort. Well done, Brett Graham and your teamβyou have created one of the best restaurants in the world.
An unforgettable experience.
I booked The Ledbury as a birthday surprise for my partner. Boy, did it deliver! From the very start, we encountered attentive, thoughtful and friendly service. A special shout out to Josh and Jack who looked after us extremely well, ensuring we wanted for nothing throughout our experience. Then the food! The Ledbury is thoroughly deserving of its 3 stars, with each course a sublime masterclass in elite cookery. We opted for the full 8 courses with the truffle addition. The turbot, deer and sweetbreads were among our favourites. The truffle addition and its use in a dessert course was a real surprise and joy to eat, and something we will be reminiscing about for while. The reality, though, was that each course was beautifully presented and an absolute delight to the senses. Thank you to The Ledbury for making a special occasion an unforgettable experience.
Worth the trip!
Ten years after my first two visits at the Ledbury I decided to go again after I saw an interview with chef Brett after receiving the highest culinary accolade. The restaurant still looks the same and the service is welcoming as ever. In the evening they only serve a tasting menu. I must admit, I loved the whole experience. The food was very good with some outstanding dishes such as petit four with duck liver, venison and beetroot, mushroom ice cream with shaved black truffle. Chef Brett is congenial and not shy for a conversation. This whole experience felt like a warm bath and this is definitely a go to restaurant in Britain. Would love to come back!
Best high end restaurant in London
Wonderful eight course lunch menu. Every dish was served with such care and played to perfection. The staff were super friendly and helpful. I suffer from hay fever and was asking a friend for a tissue, before I knew it one for the staff came out with a tissue box. It was a friend birthday so was the perfect excuse to try the Ledbury. I loved everything including the sweat bread ( which typically I am not a big fan of). The Cornish turbot, mushrooms from the cabinet and the creative starters (the forks with seaweed) and the mushroom were beautiful to look at and delectable to digest! Even the deserts were something else- the strawberryβs with eh 12 year old aged balsamic vinegar was spot on following the main course to add something fresh and light. Even the petit fours hit the spot and had my favourite Canele from the south of France was also on the menu. Perfect from start to finish. Possibly the best restaurant in London and I have been to a fair few! What made it even more special was to be served by the head chef Brett Graham. Such a lovely man and down to earth.
Could this be the best overall fine dining place in London?
Absolutely wonderful, from the moment you walk in to every part of the tasting menu. We have dined at a lot of tasting menus over the past year globally and would say this was at the top of our list. Service is spot on and very attentive with a warm vibe, not at all in an overly formal manner (some would say stiff). Chef Brett Graham came out to serve guests towards the end of the tasting. Will be back!
Not very tasty
The flavor of the courses is too cliche, always using caviar, repetitive taste. The pork in one of the courses is not very fresh. Although the decorations of the restaurant is fine.
Beautiful restaurant and delicious food!
Beautiful restaurant in central London! The food was excellent and the service was impeccable. Would highly recommend.
Lovely experience
I can give anyone whoβs considering dining at The Ledbury an unreserved recommendation to do so, it is a genuinely fabulous place to eat. It has, after all, three Michelin stars. So it sits in pretty rarified company and in the upper echelons of gastronomy. So, as you may well expect, the food was a joy both visually and on the palette, the service both pleasant and effortlessly efficient. There are a couple of caveats that I believe are worth mentioning though. The first surrounds the almost too regimented and efficient nature of our evening. To elaborate a little on that. We were a little surprised by not being offered the opportunity to have an appetitive prior to eating, a glass of champagne is always a great way to start a decadent evening of haute cuisine after all. The first of our snacks were upon us in no time. Delicious as they undoubtedly were they would have been a perfect partner for a little fizz. I feel that perhaps a short interval halfway through the eighth courses, or prior to dessert, would be beneficial to the evening as a whole. I am still unsure as to the restaurant policy on table turnaround (mixed messages from the staff) and second sittings. We were unaware of there being any need to vacate our table after a set period of time, nor, I hasten to add, were we asked to do so, but when customers arrive and staff repeatedly glance over at your table, there seemed to be a subliminal message. Did this detract from our experience at The Ledbury ? Probably not, though we probably would have taken a digestif with coffee at the end of the evening. Would we return, I think the answer is yes. But probably not at the start of service.

Simply incredible!!! Booked the reservation when it was a 2-Michelin star and able to short time prior they received their 3rd star. Service 10/10 Food 10/10 Pace of meal10/10 The space 10/10 We dined at lunch and chose the 8-course menu with wine pairing. EXQUISITE experience
Absolutely phenomenal
Wonderful experience. The tasting menu is just sublime. I fell into a deep relaxing cascade with such lovely friendly service. Absolutely loved it here. My goodness it is so worth it. especially since I was not paying. Stand out dishes the crab and turbot
Best Lunch experience ever
We had an absolutely amazing lunch. The food was on another level, cooking beyond a level we have experienced before, so flavoursome and presented in such a beautiful way. What made it for us was how friendly all the staff were and how happy they were to engage in conversations. They were all so knowledgeable about the food and wine being served and we really enjoyed having a chat with them between courses and hearing about their experiences. This was everything we had hoped for and a lot more on top. Thank you all so very much for such a brilliant day. We shall be back.
Been wanting to come here for a very long time and glad we
Been wanting to come here for a very long time and glad we finally made it. Four of us came for dinner and all of us walked out with big smiles. The evening was exquisite, service on point, friendly and funny staff and food that was exceptionally good and not a single course I did not like. I had told them about our food restrictions before hand and they had individual menus prepared for each person, that alone is worthy of three stars. Their attention to detail is really amazing here. The food started arriving and course after course was amazing flavour, fabulous presentation, and the staff were just great with us in responding to our questions and elaborating as needed. My favourites of the night were the charcuterie that comes from their farm, the Portland crab, the venison from their farm, their home grown mushrooms and the mackerel. The dessert was nice but the pralines that came with the coffee put me on cloud 9 :-) the truffle praline was exquisite to say the least. They even gave me a small bag of those to take home, that's very special. Great but expensive wine list, exceptional service and we never had to ask for anything during the evening and service with a smile. Loved every bit of this place and I would come back in a heartbeat. I was apprehensive considering I had been waiting a long while to get here but, they delivered beyond expectation.
had a lovely evening here.
menu was the tasting menu. nice selection of wines. service is impeccable.
Perfection
Our family of four visited The Ledbury on 4th February for our daughterβs 18th birthday. This was our third visit to this exceptional restaurant, and our first since the restaurant re-opened after Covid. Everything about the experience was as fantastic as the first two occasions. Amazing combinations of ingredients beautifully presented in a refined but relaxed setting by brilliant staff and management who deliver perfectly-pitched service. Some dishes were personally served by proprietor Brett Graham whose warmth, passion and total dedication to his craft and to his business shone through in our chat with him. Thanks to the entire Ledbury team for a wonderful evening. We cannot wait to return.
Excellent
Chef Brett Graham's innovative cooking, The two Michelin-starred restaurant opened in 2005 and has won many accolades: itβs rated among the top 50 restaurants in the world and is considered one of Londonβs very best. Featuring British produce and wild English game is the focus. Unfortunately it closed post Covid and reopened just one year ago. Serving is set menu.
Everything is perfect; the restaurant to emulate
This was my third dinner at the Ledbury and my first time post covid. It is expensive there is no getting over that but it delivers the value. The room is a nice size not too large or small. The best first part is that the staff are not snooty. They are all friendly and they chat with you like equals. That really helps to relax and enjoy the experience and not feel that have to be careful. Second i have a few food dislikes and they keep notes so they know what i do not eat and they make no fuss, but just adjust the course accordingly or indeed bring a completely different dish. There were three of us and we had the tasting menu and the wine accompaniment. Each course is beautifully prepared and fun to eat. The wines were interesting and worked well with each course. At the end i realized we had been there for over four hours which was amazing. I am already dreaming of being able to return. They deserve three Michelin stars!
Excellent accueil
What an amazing experience. The food and staff were excellent. Special thanks to our waitress for her kindness and super professional advice on delicious food that my guests and I were having. We'll definitely come again! Happy Christmas to you all.
Exquisite from start to finish
I was so excited to finally get here after the Covid years. We had the 8 course tasting lunch menu (crab, mullet, veal, lobster, mushroom, deer, meringue, ice cream) and as white truffles are in season we added that option too. The courses start with two amuse bouche and finish with chocolate truffles. The restaurant is beautifully appointed and we had the perfect table in a corner by the window to view the room. The service is friendly, fuss free and impeccable everything presented in a luxuriously unhurried way and we enjoyed our food to the max over 4 hours while we chatted away happily. The food was simply out of this world every course a triumph. They catered superbly for my pescatarian needs. Definitely my favourite meal of the year.
Top location
Excellent restaurant with magnificent vibes. We had one of our best meals in London. The service is professional and very friendly. Thank you and we will visit soon.

Amazing dinner! Nicest staff! The wine pairing was especially fun and I highly recommend it.
Just got through with dinner.
Nice airy yet small restaurant in a quaint neighborhood in Notting Hill.Tasting menu was $145 GBP so about $219 USD per person. They offer 8 items. We choose the 6 item menu as there were a couple of items on the menu I'm not fond of.The appetizers were delicious. Melt in your mouth delicious. The service was what you'd expect from a 2 Michelin star restaurant. Prompt, knowledgeable and very professional. The sommelier was friendly and a perfect fit for The Ledbury. The ONLY reason we're giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the size of the portions of wine. They're literally tasting size yet you're charged for a full glass. They're not even a quarter of a glass. I've never seen anything like it. Coming from California and visiting Napa regularly we found this disappointing.I hope they revisit that as I'm positive we're not the first people to comment on this. The wine selections were good but not worth the money if you decide to buy just a glass and not a bottleOther than that try this restaurant. The food it wonderful.
My #1 restaurant in London
This is by far my favorite restaurant in london, the flavors, experience, service, ambience, honestly a 5/5 from every aspect, their homemade kombuchas is a must try, the rest leave it on the head chef Brett and his team.
