Regular customer turned off
I have stayed here about 6 times a year for 3 years. The place has been taken over and was hoping for better management. My room -998 a night - was so noisy with noise from the yard and the restaurant. I always book a room far from the noise but they don’t do that anymore. Management said they were booked and maybe they are but no explanation about why I could not choose a room 2 months ago. Again the place is fine but for this price point I expect better management. I don’t think it’s worth the money and they aren’t very caring about customers summary: Management still sub par and care about money not customers
Be the first to ReplyHampton’s college room priced like a five star Manhattan hotel
For $1000 per night, you can get: -Access to a minuscule room by a very difficult and dangerously staircase. -No minibar/ No slippers/ Very small closet with 2 hangers, without shelves or drawers. -Very old bathroom/ Plastic curtain at the uncomfortable bathtub. Regarding the very poor breakfast: -No eggs, toasts, or espresso. Friendly staff, but sometimes unskilled. THE WORST VALUE FOR MONEY HOTEL l HAVE EVER STAYED IN,
Be the first to ReplyAman rates and motel service
Hotel claims to offer unparalleled luxury and hospitality: absolute rubbish. The triple room was neither comfortable or elegant, service was terrible and the nightly rate of over 2k- offensive! AVOID.
Be the first to ReplyA great long weekend
We had an absolutely wonderful stay. The hotel is under new management and they are doing a great job! The staff very accommodating and friendly. They are also very dog friendly a must for us. Everything was terrific from the Continental breakfast complete with fresh berries and Goldbergs bagels that were often warm when they arrived, to the bikes and beach umbrellas and chairs. we also loved sitting on the front lawn watching the world go by having coffee, reading the papers or having a cocktail.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible experience
One of the worst hotels I have stayed at so far in the Hamptons. The rooms look absolutely nothing like they show online. I felt completely tricked. My luggage could barely fit in the room. It is a small shoebox of a room. People yelling downstairs till past 11:30pm and it sounds like they are in the room with you. The AC BARELY works. The rooms are so hot you will not sleep. This is the first time I felt compelled to write a review. I would never recommend this hotel to any one.
Be the first to ReplyVery accommodating manger!
Unfortunately, I had to cancel my two day stay 24 hours before my reservation and the manager was super generous allowing me to have a two day credit that I can use in the future waving the cancelation policy which states, I need to cancel 21 days prior or no refund. When I asked my friends where I should stay in East Hampton they all recommended this hotel and I look forward to saying here in the future!
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced and tired
The Maidstone is a tired property devoid of any atmosphere and amenities. I stayed one night in the smaller room for $500+ a night. The room was small as expected but the carpet was filthy and the decor tatty. There is no staff at the hotel in the evenings so there is no atmosphere or hospitality. The hotel sits on a very busy road so if you are at the front it is so noisy. The room is worth max $200 a night. Not 500!
Be the first to ReplySuch a treat!
What a treat to stay at the Maidstone while we were at a golf tournament. The place is gorgeous and so inviting with so many little spots to sit and have coffee, tea or wine. The staff was so professional and we loved the decor!
Be the first to ReplySleep in a Costco parking lot. You’ll get better service
I hope you like black mold! And wet rotting sheet rock, and an empty minibar, and no service, and insulting little free soap samples instead of soap. For the highest prices you’ve ever paid. Stay anywhere else. Seriously. I’m not being cute or hyperbolic when I say next time I’d pick Motel 6
Be the first to ReplyAVOID
Avoid this outrageously overpriced, tired mess of a hotel! So bad that we finally just left a day early, giving up our $1,500-a-night for that last night. The room itself was filthy and tired. Bathroom broken down with toilet hissing in middle of the night. We lived out of our bags because there were four hangers in the closet and only one functional drawer. Room cleaning did not happen until we complained at 3:00 one day and then 4:00 the next day. Evening room service was suspended. No toilet paper replenishment, we had to use the tissue box. It needs a physical renovation and new management.
Be the first to ReplySuper Bad stay in East Hampton
You pay price of Ultraluxury hotel stay but you get more or less a dump. They charge for the location but it ends there. Embarrassing how old the rooms and beds are. Feels like it will fall apart soon! Would not recommend to anyone.
Be the first to ReplyToo expensive for the property
The outside garden here is very nice. The restaurant is good. The rooms and the common areas are very average. We paid $2700 for two nights. Ok it’s July in the Hamptons but this property is not worth that. Disappointed
Be the first to ReplyI Love this photo art hotel
This has to be the best hotel and restaurant in the Hampton. On Main Street walking distance to the center of town or the beach it is just the best kept secret around. The people are stunning , food fabulous and the rooms are romantic. I stayed 4 nights. They have a small bar scene with live music one of the nights I was there. Great place for a date
Be the first to ReplyGreat, comfortable place to stay
Lovely room, great staff, thoughtful amenities, including pool, restaurant, bar, lovely backyard, suitable continental breakfast in the AM; well kept and welcoming. Easy walk to town, bikes available, passes to go to the beach. Very lovely.
Be the first to ReplyCustomer service was awful, had bike accident - they didn’t follow up - don’t answer phone - no manager on site
really bad customer relations/ overstaffed for lawn and housekeeping and waiters but no manager and no one answers phone, hotel guests not really valued, it cost nearly 900 for a 200 square foot room. Was in accident with their bike and had to go to ER by ambulance - no follow up, didn’t offer refund as I had to go home, and no one offered to assist with food after I was discharged. I am a regular guest but now the prices are insane and still customer service is awful

Fabulous and very accommodative. Maintenance of area outside could be better with groundskeeping but I think everywhere is short staffed these days so it was fine. Will stay here again. They were extremely accommodative letting us extend our beach pass. They provide beach chairs, umbrellas, ice, water. Etc..,
Be the first to ReplyAWESOME stay!
We had an awesome stay here for Fathers Day 2022. The hotel was beautiful in our favorite part of town. So easy and tranquil. There are multiple spaces here for work and relaxation. Sarah and Melissa were so hospitable and helpful!! We brought our two young kids and they were made to feel welcome by everyone there and provided space to run around. Thank you!
Be the first to ReplyMuch worse than the rumor
No feeling for the clients. Should be (and advertised like it) a cosy place for a nice getaway, but far from it. New owner who don't know how to run a small hotel. Right now just a very expensive Bed and Brakfast. Not even so, breakfast served with paper cups and plastic glasses is far from how it should be. Main road just outside. Comfy beds though ;-)
Be the first to ReplyA 2 Star Hotel at Best
This hotel has seen better days. Stayed during high season and it seemed completely dead. Even dinner service on the weekend in the restaurant was empty. The room we stayed in was quite worn except the linens were great. No mini bar, no working phone to call front desk, the TV was 20inches with cable only unlike other luxury hotels that have it all. Because there was no mini bar that meant no cold water. The lights in the bathroom got so hot after being on only 5 mins. The water stopped working twice and we had a guest on the pullout couch that said the “mattress” was like sleeping on the floor. There was no duvet for it and when we called they brought an extra sheet. “Room service” which was us walking to the bar to ask about food ended at 9pm. Free breakfast didn’t have any eggs, protein, etc. just boxed croissants and bagels. Coffee was from Wednesday for Sunday. Overall, this is a place to stay if you want something affordable and are in need. Cannot recommend staying here however
Be the first to ReplyMy Vacation Stays At The Maidstone
I've neen going to the Hampstons & Montauk since the 1970's. When I first walked into The Maidstone in East Hampton I knew right of way this was my kind of place. I fit right in to what this place had or offer. I felt transported back to one of my favorite time periods. Along with today's classic look.
Be the first to ReplyFaded Rose—could be great but wasn’t!
Such a missed opportunity to have a cool, clean inn with character!! Needs to be refreshed - outdoor looks junky, dirty, rooms very worn and windows not washed in a while etc….coffee service should begin at least at 7 or 7:30 —overall needs a lot of attention!

We stayed there paying +$500. Staff was kind enough to allow us to set our bags up front because we arrived prior to our check-in time. When we came back (around 7pm), no one was there, so we checked-in using an iPad left at the reception stand. After checking in I found my bags sitting behind the reception area (where I originally left it). Ideally, it would have been nice if someone would have brought it to our room, but it didn't happen and no big deal. Because we checked-in via iPad, we didn't know where to find our room. So we went upstairs with our luggage carrying it to the 3rd floor when we realized our room was in the vicinity. So we went back downstairs and into another area and found our room on the second floor. We didn't see anyone in the building so we assumed that there wasn't a restaurant so we ordered pizza to be delivered. The room was okay. It felt like we were staying at someone's house, but we didn't know the owner of the house. So we ultimately felt like an unwanted guest. It was the first time at a bed and breakfast so we didn't know what to expect. It was rated a 4 Star hotel, so we anticipated that it would be similar to the 4 Star experience we had in Manhattan - probably a bad assumption on our part. It was a strange experience. The few staff members we saw during the time were REALLY NICE. So I feel bad about this review. Perhaps our expectation is off and that's what you should expect with a 4 Star bed and breakfast???

Its old and lovely and derf has some super cute touches. Food was good and the bartender was excellent, really the whole staff was lovely. Hard to justify what you pay for in small rooms and i think the room and bathroom could use a reno but charming nonetheless. Appreciated the beach gear, breakfast and the porch. Though i was definitely dreaming of a pool!
Be the first to ReplyUnkempt grounds. Smelly, musty and noticeably moist room.
Unkempt, trash strewn grounds. Smelly, musty and noticeably moist room. Staff seemed disengaged. For $1,200 a night, you’d at least expect more than a few donuts and bagels for an included “full” breakfast.
Be the first to ReplyVery Unhappy!!
We’re put in a room that had no hot water so I called the front desk and they told me it happens in old hotels.. would i like to move? So I packed everything I had just unpacked and moved to a second room that started with warm water and then ran cold before I could get in the shower. Also the mattresses were so dirty I asked for sheets to cover them. And I was still charged an exorbitant amount for this room! How do you charge for cold water? I went back the next day to get a few items I had left behind and they told me that the manager threw them in the dumpster.
