An old school grand traditional historical looking hotel located right by the Manchester Picadilly station in St Peter's Square that offers gym, conferences, spas, restaurant, concierge, and other services that hotels like this offer. Good for those who like class and old school grandeur. Details: Gym: Quite an excellent gym. There is a running area on treadmills upstairs for those who like that. I personally am a weights and machines person and circuits training is my thing. Minus the step bench I usually use, they had weights that go up to 50 kg. They had yoga balls, weighted ropes, boxing bag, mats, boxing gloves, all the typical weight machines. Usually open til 8 pm at night, so you jet laggers be aware. Spa costs money but I believe pool is free of charge Restaurant: They had a Mr. Cooper, which is the restaurant buffet style restaurant that offered fares such as lamb chops and potatoes- English fare. A little pricy but for those who have little time to travel out and search for food, this is a good place to go. Service: Typical concierge. Can send people up to fix things for you pretty quicky. Room amenities: Have a heated towel rack for you to dry things and your towels are always warm, lights are controlled by your hotel card, TV has decent channels but I would have preferred CNN if they had it. Large closet to hang your clothes. Provides complimentary cinnamon or chocolate chip cookie crackers, english tea, and water. Hair dryer included. Only complaint is that their goose down blankets get SUPER HOT at night. So if you're someone who likes heavy blankets, good, otherwise be prepared to sweat in the middle of the night b/c these are heavy! Stairs/Accessibility- i thought the stairs were a little confusing if you're someone planning to be exercise prone, so be careful your first time. It is very very close to all the tourist attractions. It is smack in the middle of the city so to go to Chinatown, Gay Village, and Manchester places are easy
