We unfortunately didn't get a chance to stay here as our itinerary could only afford one night, but the hotel requires a 2 night minimum. We did get to have drinks in the lounge and dine at Panorama, both delightful experiences. No reservations could be made, so we showed up and put our names in for an hour wait. We found several snug spots to hang out while waiting and grabbed comfortable chairs in a lounge where we were immediately greeted by a very nice and accommodating server. We enjoyed some snacks (he even ensured the crisps were gluten-free and safe for me), and the drinks were excellent. Our table was ready on time, and we were seated by what probably was a spectacular window view, but while waiting for our table, the sun had set. While it was pitch black out, the restaurant itself was very elegant to look at. Also, our server was attentive and helpful with ordering gf. I had the monkfish and risotto, which turned out to be one of my favorite meals of the trip. Friends had French onion soup and salad, fish n chips, and a steak. Everything was excellent. Just wish we could have stayed as guests to enjoy the view, but highly recommended.

This hotel is truly a beautiful masterpiece. It's located in Ireland and tucked away near the mountains. There's no bad view possible in this hotel. The restaurant is also five stars and I could eat here any day of the week. The spa includes a massive pool, hot tubs indoor and outdoor, a steam room, a sauna, and ice bath. Everyone in the hotel is so friendly and really want to help you. The service is amazing. Don't forget that the property is massive and there's trails to walk around and enjoy the scenery and flowers. If you want to celebrate a special occasion this is the place to do it

However the service is as low as you could ever ask for from the overnight staff. One person in particular, let's call him napoleon (real name he refused to give and simply said he was in charge) successfully for us and our group ruined the trip! One night upon returning to the hotel completely off the time zone, we called down to order room service. Nobody answered, upon walking to the lobby, Napoleon was interrupted from whatever show he was watching and acted as though my request of room service was the most complex request in human history. He insisted I go to my room and room service would then call me. Napoleon himself calls me a few minutes later to ask what I want. Tells me the only thing available is a sandwich. I say great and ask what the sandwich is. Napoleon tells me it's a chicken sandwich but if I want it, it's a 45 minute or more wait, because they are so busy (absolute lie). While displeased with this answer, I am content. The time goes by and I am delivered a LITERAL cheese and white bread sandwich! I call to complain and Napoleon AGAIN acts as though my request is completely out of line. I tell him this is 100% not what was order. He huffs and puffs and says in another 30 minutes they can correct it. The correction... white bread again, no cheese, and about 1/8 of a cold split chicken breast. This guy has no clue whatsoever what customer service is or what it means to run a luxury property. If Napoleon is ever let go, I might believe that the European is a hotel worth visiting. But without question I will never ever come back until he is fired.

Gorgeous hotel near Killarney but far away enough from all tourist madness to let you have peace and relaxation. The food is excellent and the spa and views even better. The breakfast is to die for with more selections than you can imagine. The views of the lake are available from every corner of this lovely property and once you're here you don't see the need to leave. Highly recommended.

This hotel is incredible and situated in such a beautiful location. The service here has been incredible and the people are so friendly. The food at the restaurants is also outstanding. I would definitely stay here again if in the Killarney/Kerry County area. The rooms are newer and modern. Only negative I would mention is that there doesn't seem to be AC in the rooms. I think this is likely because the weather doesn't normally get that warm, but it's definitely been a bit muggy for us. I traveled here with a broken foot and my friend accidentally picked up someone else's luggage and they've been so eager to help me and helped us work out a way to get her luggage without having to drive all the way back to the airport. Incredible service!!

Amazingly gorgeous hotel! The view from any window in the hotel is breathtaking! The rooms are great, very nice amenities. The food in the restaurants are delicious, a great selection to pick from as well. If you are deciding on where to stay, you cannot miss this place!!

Really enjoyed the Spa and the food was incredible. I am so lucky to share these wonderful trips with my beautiful girlfriend Laura. Planning our next trip already! #differentworld @laura_hehir
Be the first to ReplyIncredible! One of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at.
We actually stayed here in 2006 and it was nice, but the renovation they did since really makes this a six star place. This recent trip was July 2017. Everything was perfect. The food is exceptional from the Irish breakfast to fine dining that could compete with the best in Manhattan. Everywhere from your hotel room, the pool and the dining room, the view of the lake and grounds are breath taking. Very well designed with windows everywhere. The indoor swimming pool is magnificent and the half indoor, half outdoor hot tub is amazing. Actually I should say both of them are amazing, because the smaller one in the spa area is great too. I could go on and on, but to sum it up, this is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed anywhere in the world. Playing golf up the street at Killarney Lake Golf & Fishing Club was exceptional. While you are staying here, I highly recommend a Gap of Dunloe Tour including the jaunting cart and boat tour across Lake Killarney and taking a drive around Ring of Kerry including Kerry Cliffs and Ballycarbery Castle Ruins and don't forget to schedule having an Irish boxty at Bricin in downtown Killarney.

Just on the road back to Dublin after a wonderful two days in the Europe hotel. We went for an "experience" package, which included bed, breakfast, dinner on one night and a spa treatment each. We paid a little extra to have a lake view room, I would highly recommend doing this, if you're paying the big bucks to be here anyway I think it's completely worth the little extra for such a spectacular view. Especially since it's such an experience hotel, with that view you feel properly immersed in a Killarney experience even if you don't have time or energy to do much touristing/hiking etc, which we didn't. Our spa day was absolute bliss, the thermal suite is fabulous and my deep muscle massage with Cherridan in the ESPA was outrageously good, have never had such a great massage in a spa environment, she was fantastic. Chilling outside in the heated infinity pool after our treatments with that view was something else. The dinner included in the package was absolutely delicious, restaurant lacked atmosphere though unfortunately. Breakfast was slightly disappointing, I think at the prices paid a fairly average buffet isn't good enough. FOH staff could have been a bit friendlier but housekeeping and catering staff were very lovely. All in all a fabulous stay but not without a few faults. We'll hopefully make it back someday.

What can I say? I love, love, love the Europe! I am a student so staying here is currently out of the question but any time I'm in the area I love to drop in for lunch. It is a truly 5 star hotel from the decor, location, staff, to the food. The last time I visited I had the tempura prawns and a side of fries. The prawns are delicious, melt in the mouth as tempura should be. While the food is reasonably priced for the setting beverages including sparkling water, tea and coffee, and wine are all charged at 5 star prices. This is in no way a complaint as it is a luxurious five star hotel, it is just something to be aware of as they are somewhat hidden charges if you don't get it consult a drinks menu! I love it here, I will hopefully be back soon.
