The Pembroke Washington Reviews from The Last Year
Never Again.
Unimpressed. Nothing to write home about, the food was just okay. I could barely find the ham on my Eggs Benedict. Confused as to why this place has such a high rating. Service was horrible. Screwed up one order, waited 10 mins for cream for our coffee, waited 20 mins for a cocktail. We’ve had better meals at a coffee shop in the middle of nowhere. Never Again.
I felt fancy having brunch here.
This restaurant is classy, and their staff make you feel like family. They have a great menu and food. Highlights were the lobster Benedict, chicken and waffles, and the French toast. It will be on my list to go again.
Everything began great.
We received our food in record time. As I was enjoying my French Toast, I found a hair underneath it and sorry I couldn't eat it. My Mom didn't like her frittata was it had too much cheese for her taste. Our server didn't really pay much attention to our table. We had a credit for the restaurant and we didn't even use it. I was pretty disappointed.
Food and drinks were absolutely phenomenal.
Sat at the bar, it was a slow night but it took forever to get service all night. Other than that it was great! Definitely will come back for dinner
Outstanding service from Adan and Raph provided attentive
Outstanding service from Adan and Raph provided attentive service! The coffee is on point and served hot. I enjoyed eggs scrambled to perfection and good value for the price. Lovely atmosphere for dining.
Great!
My birthday dinner was at Pembroke at the Hotel DuPont and it was excellent Dewayne was our server and he took excellent care of us. A champagne toast before dinner and a birthday tiramisu complete with a candle! Food was excellent, some of the best ever! If you are in Washington, DC go to the Pembroke and ask for Dewayne…like The Rock!
Run to this.
An exquisite meal - every bite was delicious. We had the duck broth to start as well as fried chicken and sweetbreads (which the manager allowed us to order from the pre-fixed menu - we love sweetbreads and these were gorgeously prepared.) the duck broth was perfect - balanced and light but so flavorful. We chose the beef rib with roots and shoots for two as our entree and it was delicious - perfectly cooked and seasoned. The ambiance was perfect after spending a day in crowded museums. The service was excellent, friendly, genuine and accommodating. Highly recommend and will be back.
Came here for brunch on my birthday.
Service was fantastic-- the birthday cake was so cute! The ambiance is great-- super good to take photos since the lighting is super good. The eggs Benedict however... was not great. The buns were a bit too stiff/overcooked and the bacon was way too hard.
Classic brunch spot with classic brunch food.
Restaurant has cute seating, lots of light, and feels very pretty and fresh!
We had a wonderful time celebrating our friend's birthday.
Everyone was so accommodating. Thank you to Artzi, for making our brunch so fun!
My favorite brunch spot in DC! The food is excellent and
My favorite brunch spot in DC! The food is excellent and the service is even better. Staff here are very attentive, and will check in with you often to make sure you have everything you need. I also loved the aesthetic of this place. I've stayed at the DuPont Hotel many times, so it's always a treat to visit.
The interior was beautiful.
Our server was very kind and the lattes were excellent. A great choice for on the go or casual dining.
Food: omelette and Virginia ham Benedict.
Tastes super clean super simple. Eggs were cooked perfectly in both entrees. A little pricey but would still go back for a really nice breakfast. Good presentation. Service: attentive and professional. Ambiance: Very classy very chic. Clean and nice large windows. Waiters in proper attire. Feels upscale.
Went here as part of our stay at the DuPont.
Service was excellent and our food was delicious! Is a great little breakfast and brunch spot and is very convenient if you're staying at the DuPont!
Went for restaurant week but they were out of the dessert
Went for restaurant week but they were out of the dessert we wanted so ended up getting the regular menu. Overall, it was good but wouldn't go back because of the prices. Expect $100+ per person for one app and one appetizer... it was good! I like the booths - comfy seats and great location, but overpriced. The bread with the whipped butter was SO good. The best salad was tasty. The ribeye was yummy (especially with that butter sauce). The bucatini was the only food that was underwhelming. Service was great.
Absolute Perfection
Absolutely amazing EVERYTHING! Server Adan was so incredibly friendly and helpful. Food was TO DIE FOR, great wine list as well. If you do not stop here for a meal while in DC, you need to ask someone for forgiveness. It was that good.
Top-of-the-line service and delicious food
The most impressive part of this restaurant is its service: you are treated as if it were a Michelin-starred restaurant: from the servers to the maître d'. Even the day before, when I had called in worried about my reservation when the weather forecast called for sleet, I was reassured that there would be no problem should I need to cancel. Everyone made sure you felt important before, during, and after. The food was good: my dish was excellent because it was a bit different, but everyone else ordered prosaic brunch dishes, like eggs over easy or pancakes with a bacon side. All were pleased. However, I ordered the Maryland Chesapeake Crab Benedict. It was very crabby, and the rest as expected: perfectly poached eggs on a muffin with a creamy hollandaise sauce. The Benedict dish (and the eggs over easy) came with a tidy square of hash brown potatoes that was both attractive and tasty. I also ordered the honeydew melon juice as a beverage instead of orange juice. Good choice.
Surprised it was Michelin rated
Had Thanksgiving Reservations and waited for about 30 minutes after to be seated. The place was packed and they looked like they were under staffed. Managers were very apologetic about our wait. We finally get seated and waited a few more minutes for our waiter. The all you can eat stone crabs and shrimp were good however I think that’s where their downfall is. So many people camp out at the seafood bar that they run over on time making them behind. The cocktails were good along with the appetizers. Our entrees were ok, the Short Rib was very tough and hard to eat. The fish was good but lacking some flavor. Desserts were very good. We would be up to trying again however not during a holiday.
Great in every way
What a lovely combination of wonderful ambiance, outstanding service (from Daniel) and excellent food, (tuna crudo, crispy salmon, chicken milanese, chocolate fondant and warm rolls were all great) We tried it for a birthday lunch and were so pleased, we will be back for dinner very soon.
A lovely place for dinner!
The Pembroke was nested inside a hotel and a place we had never had an opportunity to try in the past. You are greeted with a lovely space, light grey and peach tones, comfortable leather booths and soft spacious chairs to sit in. The bar is vast and very welcoming. We were greeted by the very amazing general manager Bardia, who offered us a generous booth with a view in the restaurant in a quiet spot in the back. We started with a delicious Gin Martini and a Manhattan; both were very well made and the bartender was fantastic. For dinner we started with a Caesar salad that was really nice, although the romaine was not chopped it was easy to handle and the croutons were spicy and full of garlic. We also tried the grilled octopus and it was very tender and full of flavor. My husband tried the ribeye and fries; it was perfectly cooked and seasoned; the fries were more thick cut and I think very forgettable. Next time I will ask for the standard fires which were thinner and looked more interesting. I went for the buccani which is a tubed pasta topped with lobster and a lobster cream sauce. The pasta was well cooked but I thought there was very little lobster meat in the dish; more of tiny pieces with the flavor of lobster cream. Desert we tried the Profiteroles with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce which I would skip. The profiteroles were not the soft, eggy texture they should have been and the chocolate sauce lacked complexity and flavor. We actually thought it tasted like Hershey syrup. The other desert we tried was the passionfruit tart which was well balanced and very good/unique. I highly recommend trying the Pembroke as it has been one of the most surprising dinners in we have tried in a long time. The atmosphere will make you feel welcomed, if not romanced. The best part was the people, from the waitstaff, bartenders and general manager we felt cared for and welcomed
Great Breakfast
Beautiful first class breakfast. I discovered that in Washington, unlike my home area in South Florida, that the better restaurants serve breakfast and brunch daily and take it as serious as dinner.
very good food, but small, round tables for two are not appropriate
Our waiter was very competent and attentive. The dinner was good. It was a shame that the asparagus was served in a cold bowl. This meant that the asparagus also got cold very quickly. For $12 you expect more here. The wine selection is very large. Unfortunately, the meal was very cramped at a small, round table for two people with a wine cooler, plate for the main course, bowl for the asparagus and glasses. In this price range you can expect more. You felt crammed in. The tables for four are definitely better here.
Pembroke Perfection
The entire experience at The Prembroke was fabulous! Food, service, staff, and atmosphere were perfect! The front of house staff were friendly and welcoming, attentive to every detail! Here are the highlights from our first visit to the restaurant. The Hybiscus Mojito mocktail, a refreshing twist on the Cuban punch favorite! Salads: Beets Three Ways - a delicate melody of red and yellow beets with a purée, and a carrot goat cheese emulsion in spectacular colors and contrast. Baby Iceberg Wedge - served with smoky bacon, grilled red onions, medly of cherry tomatoes, blue cheese chunks and dressing with chives. Entrée special: Striped Bass with fingerling potatoes, asparagus, corn succotash, and red pepper coulis with a lemon beurre blanc. A burst of fresh flavor and wonderful pairing. Tasty, succulent, crispy skin on the filet. Dessert: Profiteroles with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce was a perfect end to our fabulous dinner.
Great restaurant and bar
Cool restaurant at the Dupont Circle, so easy to get to. We were there for brunch and hung out for the rest of the afternoon, a sign of how welcoming the restaurant is. Great service and quality of food, which is having my sincere recommendations.

I've earned $150 in a transaction and am not able to send this to my account. It's been rejected 3 times because I'm asking for too much?
The customer support function has provided zero responses and there are so many fees on the deposit process. What the heck? Has anyone been able to withdraw $ from earned bids?

You can only deposit $50 at a time until you earn the “Sales and Low Refund Medal” I believe. Im new to this as well but the ability to deposit more money at once and increase your amount of listings comes with that medal.

Someone else posted that they were only able to transfer $50 at a time so maybe that’s why it says you’re asking for too much. I haven’t sold anything yet so I have no personal experience but I would try $50.
