Great location, vibes, views for the race and service.
However, the food is average. I would definitely recommend saratoga chips. They are addictive. Overeating could cause a loss of appetite. Reservations are recommended but note that they may have a non refundable deposit of $25. I would probably go back as this is one of the best spots to view the race.

This Seth B character seems a little shady. Coins in the urinal? Everyone knows it's coins in the trough is good luck. Coins in the urinal is a great way to spread communicable disease. Have you even seen "Contagion", Seth B? Do you even know what r-naught is, bro?

Table next to us waited two hours for a bucket of beer. Food, when it was finally delivered was meh! View of track is stunning!

The experience of spending the day in the Turf Terrace was great! The quality of the food however, was poor.

Not a place I would recommend if you are interested in the races. View of the track is horrible and making a bet is challenging. We were seated at a table that had no monitor and next to a party of 12 that took up the other half of the row we were in. Our server was excellent but the hostess staff was rude and put off by our request to change tables. We called earlier in the morning if we needed to be there when they opened to get a table with a better view and was told no just to arrive by race time. We arrived to plenty of open tables only to be seated in a totally unacceptable spot and then treated rudely. Needless to say we left. We we told if we would have given a gratuity to the hostess we would not have had an issue. We will not be going back.

We're not racing fanatics but "When in Rome"... so off we went. Our hotel had a six seat table at Turf Terrace so why not take advantage. Well the six seat tables are tight - very tight and uncomfortable as other guests arrived However the view is perfect for the races as you oversee this beautiful racetrack. You can also place bets at the computer screen by your table. Certainly the better option versus heading to the betting area for every race. As for the food - The Manhattan Clam Chowder was acceptable while the Cheese Plate was enjoyed. Multiple cheese offerings with fruit that included grapes, strawberries as well as figs. Plenty of crackers for the cheese. More than enough for the two of us We found the coffee good and strong. Overall positive with the exception being the tight table discomfort.

To be honest, when it comes to dining at the racetrack or any event for that matter, the 'punter' is a bit of a sitting duck. Saratoga Racetrack is no exception. We ate at The Turf Terrace Restaurant in the mid afternoon. There were plenty of tables available and lots of TV monitors so that you can continue to follow the racing. We had a couple of soups, a lobster roll each ($28 x 2) and a bottle of house Pino Grigio. Our waitress Dora, was pleasant enough but the food was very average but priced as though we were in a 5 star big City restaurant. Well, no surprise I suppose. Disappointing.

Wanted to spend a nice day at the track for my husband's birthday so we went to the Turf Terrace to make it special. The location was lovely, but the food was mediocre (and very expensive for what you get), and the service was the worst ever. We saw our waitress two times. First to take our drink order (when I told her we were celebrating a big birthday) and when I finally flagged her down for our (incorrect) check. We got a supervisor to take our lunch order (he also brought it). Our waitress did walk by us a few times but never acknowledged us. I am usually a decent tipper, so her loss! Unfortunately my husband's birthday was soured by this experience. I had read that the wait staff were attentive, so I was extremely disappointed by this. Will NOT return.

Staff was always checking to see if we were good with drinks and food the entire day (7 hrs). The betting window staff were polite. Only downfall was our betting tv at table did not work... I would recommend a few more automated machines upstairs like they have on the general race floor.

This is definitely not a five star experience - however the experience you get is worry it. I've been to saratoga race track several times but this was my first time sitting in the turf terrace. And I'm not sure I'll want to sit anywhere else when I return.. For starters you get table service so no running to concessions stands or bars- they come to you! Selection of food- waayyyy better then concession. They have a great drink menu which included mixed drink ideas also. We decided to split the raw bar bucket and the cheese plate- both were decent the cheese plate could use some work but it's not horrible. The raw bar bucket was pretty good and you get a good amount of food. Out table was awesome we were smack dab parallel to the finish line. You also get a tv at the table to watch the race. It's such am awesome experience and would highly suggest! The cons.. It's a bit pricey you pay 10$ a person to sit in there ( however you get the table for the whole day) you also have to pay the club house admission which was 8$ a person- and the menu is a but ridiculous.. Salads and sandwiches should not start at $20 but like I said the view and seat is amazing so save it for a special day!!
