Wonderful Vegetarian Dinner
We really enjoyed our dinner here!!! We started with fried vegetable spring rolls and Tom Kha (tofu) soup. The soup was AMAZING!!! Made fresh in house and you could tell because of all the fresh spices. My husband ordered the See Ew with tofu. I was jealous because his had the flavor I was craving tonight but my dish the Pad Rad Nah had a very good flavor. Definitely want to return to try all their other dishes!

Cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. We had the chicken satay, crispy spring rolls, shrimp pad Thai, chicken fried rice, tofu green curry, and mango sticky rice (the star of the meal - do not leave without it!). Everything was delicious. The best Thai food I have had in Richmond. Service was friendly, quick, and attentive.
Be the first to ReplyLOVE THIS PLACE! It is run by a family. The best Thai food in town.
I don't know what is wrong with some people. THIS IS THE BEST THAI RESTAURANT IN THE CITY. I have been going there for over 15 years. I almost always get the same thing because I love it. Red Curry Chicken and the best fresh spring rolls.
Be the first to ReplyThe good and the meh
I was perplexed with the ratings for this place as some were very complementary and some were unhappy - and I now understand why. I got the Hor Mok Gai and the Massaman Curry. I tried the Hor Mok Gai and it was amazing. A very unique dish that was savory, tasty, and full of vegetables and great chicken. I was blown away. Then I tried the Massaman curry and understood why some diners were unhappy. The carrots were clearly frozen vegetables and the portion size seemed small for the price. I was already planning to add some stir fry veggies I already made to the massaman to have as a large lunch for the next day and I'm glad I did. Adding my own vegetables made the dish a lot better. I think using fresh carrots instead of frozen would've gone a long way to make it better. I ordered online and picked up in the restaurant. The staff member was very polite and the interior was nice. The food tipped over in my car and none of it spilled so I know they did a great job packaging it.
Be the first to ReplyThe Good, sweet and salty
The good was that they were one of the few Richmond Thai Restaurants which offered duck and the Thai iced tea was the least expensive around. Too sweet was the Chicken Rama curry and too salty was the Crispy duck sauce. The broccoli and green beans were under cooked. Meh.

Saturday night after a few freezing days it was nice for a takeout meal... The fancy pictures at their website of Drunken noodles w/shrimp, Kao Pad Karie (stir fried rice w/beef) massaman curry w/beef that we couldnโt resist and....unfortunately what we received it is how we call it the โkitchen sinkโ. All three meals prepared with the same vegetables (crinkled carrots, beans, peas from the frozen bag) and I still cannot understand the chunks of tomatoes that was part of these meals!!! I still have a big question in my head...WHY? It looked poorly made by adding the frozen veggies to make it up for the meal! It was not appetizing at all...I will suggest to find a different local place in the area where actually the curry and pad Kee mao taste like one!

Great place! From the first steps felt very neat and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I ordered Drunken noodles with pork very tasty. Also had Sathay Chicken very tender and delicious. Overall the food was prepared with decent attention to details. Definitely will come back again!

Everytime I go here to eat it is always great. Only wish is for them to open at 4:30 instead of 5 for dinner. I like to pick food up after work.

My daughter, the son-in-law, and I were returning from an errand in an unfamiliar part of Richmond, VA and were looking for a simple place to ear. The Tip Thai was an impulse choice, and we were not sorry for our decision. We were the last customers of the evening. Our food was, for the most part, made to order from fresh ingredients. The spring rolls were made beforehand. We all ordered vegetarian/chicken dishes and enough to take home for the next day's lunch. Altogether we had an appetizer plate - steamed dumplings on a lettuce leaf, satay chicken, wontons, spring rolls, fried dumplings - fried rice, Pad Thai, lettuce rolls, and some chopped chicken platter. Our waitress was pleasant, able to explain items, and efficient. She also checked us out. Prices were a little on the pricey side.
