Couple ‘s Massage/ HEAVEN
Just received a 90 mn massage in Tokomo’s magic oasis in the heart of Beverly Hills... I have no words to describe the experience! The BEST ever! Everything is thought out, you feel transported to Japan, the tea ceremony before the treatment puts you in the mood... I’m already looking at the calendar to figure out my next visit:) It is not cheap, but really worth every penny.

Wanted to do something special for our anniversary. I saw that some friends had visited this spa so I thought I would check it out. It is definitely not a cheap place so do not be shocked at the prices and give bad reviews based off of it. You have to call in advance for reservations and they have a 48hr cancellation policy. Facility/location: gps lead us directly to the location. We were running a tad late due to traffic and I was stressing about the parking. However, the spa called to check up on me and graciously offered the private lot next door for me to park. It was awesome. The facility is immaculate. It puts you in the relaxful mood right away. There are 4 treatment rooms total. We had the couple room and it was the most spacious massage room I have ever been in. Aside from the two tables, there was a seating area as well as a shower and bath section. Only thing I would wish for was a private insuite toilet. You have to go outside your room to use the toilet. They have every amenity you can think of including wireless phone charger. Service: hands down one of the best. This is what puts this place over the top. We have been to a number of great spas. Some of my wife’s favorites includes: montage laguna, mandarin oriental in Vegas, cosmopolitan in Vegas, Terranea, 4 seasons in Maui, and others. But this service was different with their Japanese theme. From the moment you want in, you are treated like royalty. Every detail was attended too. They take your shoes and it magically appears back when you need them. Your belongings magically disappears and shows up in your room. You are given multiple different teas to drink. I truly felt as if I was attending a special ceremony in Osaka. We opted for the Japanese package that included 15min foot massage and 60min body. They body massage was one of the best. My therapist had really strong hands. The massage was a combo of Thai massage with shiatsu with hot rocks with stretching. The Japanese bath soak was also a nice way to end it. We were served a sushi meal (from sugar fish). It was ok (not the biggest fan of sugar fish). Don’t expect a big meal. It was 6 pieces of sushi with a small sashimi bowl. But the dessert trio was amazing. Loved the Mochi dessert. All in all, the experience lasted almost 3 hrs. You don’t feel rushed. If I did it again, I would probably opt out of the sushi meal and save a few bucks. Great experience overall.

This is what you dream about when you book a spa massage. Their attention to every detail is shown from the moment they answer the phone. Flawless service, relaxing ambiance, traditional tea and chocolates by the fire upon arrival and departure, heated massage beds with high thread count linens, heated foot baths and massage, massages that are both relaxing and melt away the knots and tension.. you get the idea. Truly one of the best full body massages I have ever had. This is the place you come if you really need an escape. For me, it is 5 minutes from home, so it makes it one of my top staycation destinations. But I would travel long distances just to experience this again.short version? I will be back very soon.

I recently accompanied my son to E3 in LA and chose to stay in Beverly Hills for the right out your door convenient places to eat and relax. Little did I expect to find a realistic Japanese tea service and holistic massage wrapped into one setting but Tomoko Massage is that setting. Fabulous authentic service transports your mind away from the push of LA. My massage included bits of Swedish techniques and Japanese pressure on larger muscles. The tea service was wonderful and sets the tone from the beginning. Well worth the time and cost.

I had the best spa experience at Tomoko. My best friend treated me to an hour massage for my birthday and it was the best gift I received. Right after entering the spa, a sense of relaxation takes over. The service was excellent and so attentive. We were taken to a waiting room where we were given warm towels to wash our hands and hot green tea and peppermint ice water prior to our massage. We were also given chocolates from Japan. While waiting for our room, we filled out a sheet with all of our massage preferences. Once entering the room, we changed into yukatas and had a 10 minute foot massage with rose petal water to start. Afterwards, we started our one hour massage. It was the best massage I have ever had. The massage therapist had perfect pressure and hit all the right spots. It was heaven. After the massage, you can soak in the bath or shower to wash off all the oils they used. They had really nice amenities as well. Afterwards, we were escorted back to the waiting room where we were given more refreshments and a mango mochi from Japan. The mochi was delicious with a cold cream filling and mango jelly inside. I loved Tomoko and can’t wait to come back!

I travel a lot and frequently look to a massage parlor or spa to wind down and release tense muscles from sitting in airplanes. Tomoko Spa provided much more that your typical massage. My experience was welcomed with detox hot tea and fresh water with ice cubes infused with lemon zest. The delightful aroma and whispering music eased its way into my tense shoulders and I began to relax within minutes upon arrival. Their signature massage therapy The Tomoko began with a 15 minutes or so foot soak and massage as I sipped more tea. Then to the massage table that was everything I had hoped for and more from long flowing strokes to stretching of tight muscles. My therapist asked numerous times gracefully “is the pressure enough or more?” I of course replied; “Feels like I am floating on a cloud!” No pain, stiffness or any cares in the world for the next hour. The session ended with additional invigoration tea, chocolate and fresh, cool mint infused water. Wish I lived closer I would become a member if available!

I am surprised this place has very little reviews but what was posted seemed promising so as I was super stressed due to work all week and felt miserable so called last minute and got in. I was sooooo lucky!!! I have had massages for most of my adult life, from Four Seasons to Ritz and from Singapore to Paris to Bali and I can tell you this was THE best massage I have had in my life to date. I got the Oriental massage with a tiny Massuese called Mae and afterwards wanted to start paying rent and move in. What sold me was when she climbed on the bed and dug her knees into my glutes and and that point I wanted to propose :). She hit all my issue spots with the deep tissue and then some on that cloud of a massage bed that I wanted to buy and take home. Book this place if you can, not inexpensive but worth the money to walk feeling like you are reborn.
Be the first to ReplyCouples Experience - Perfection! ❤️
My wife and I visited Tomoko for her birthday, and as a result, she designed me world's best hubby! We had the full Japanese couples experience, which consisted of a foot soak & massage, full body massage (we opted for 100 minutes, but other increments are available), Japanese bath and sushi lunch. There were many tea and refreshment interludes as well. The entire experience was absolutely sublime. It all took place in our private room over the course of an hour and a half. The service and attention to detail was remarkable, and the massages were among the best we've ever had. They made us feel like the only guests in the spa. We will DEFINITELY return!! If you drive, call them as you are arriving and they may be able to accommodate you in their employee parking lot next to the building.

Why no reviews? I'm afraid to promote it. From the front it's easily passable. Inside, it's like no other.

I visited this spa on Nov 18, 2015. It was the last day of my CA vacation, and I did some online searches to find what I hoped would be a great massage. What I didn't expect and to my surprise was that this ended up being the most amazing experience. First off the spa is unassuming from the outside. Then you walk in and feel like you're in Japan (more specifically the Marie Kondo book about the magic of tidiness if you're familiar with it). You sit in a waiting area where you are brought slippers and a tray of the most delightful snacks (lemon water - but not just any lemon water. It's bits of lemon inside the ice; tiny pieces of chocolate and tea). Then you are whisked off to a massage room that has a tub, shower and counter top. Yes, your own private room. Then comes a foot bath and you get on the most comfortable massage table where you press a button when you're ready for your masseuse to return. They have spared no detail here. I got the 80 minute Tomoko massage as I was told it was their most popular. All staff are trained by Tomoko the owner. So there were things going on in this massage that I've never experienced - wonderful techniques, hot stones, hot oils, hot towels, etc - I didn't want it to end. After showering you go back to the waiting area, where you are brought more snacks (mochi to die for, peppermint water, cubes of melon, a different kind of tea). My guess is that the snacks can vary. This spa does not have a steam room or vitality pool that I enjoy when going to the Manadarin; however, I did not miss those amenities one bit. You can add a bath onto your massage (which next time I will definitely be doing). I can't imagine going anywhere else when I am in LA. This experience was beyond words, and I could not be happier that I went. The attention to detail could not be explained. You have to see it to believe it. Such an oasis.
