Tony & Elaine's Boston Reviews from The Last Year
Outstanding! Wonderful service, incredible food and very
Outstanding! Wonderful service, incredible food and very reasonably priced bottles of wine. We had a great evening here and are still talking days later about the chicken cutlets that we will forever dream about. Going back to Boston in a few months and a reservation here is #1 on my to do list! You won't be disappointed in anything here - pastas, chicken parm, and the mozzarella sticks were all beyond delicious!
Wonderful Gem in Boston's North End!
This is really "old school" Italian, tried and true recipes that have stood the test of time. My husband had lasagna and I had chicken marsala- we both said the "best we've ever had!" Even the simple/classic caprese salad was amazing! Highly recommend!
Such a cute little spot.
Entrées and appetizers were classic Italian and perfectly presented. That's about it for the positive on the food. Not what I was expecting as far as flavor. Very bland spaghetti and meatballs. I mean it was just OK but wasn't blown away by flavor. When trying new places, I try to get a basic so I can compare and again, wasn't blown away. If you are looking for simple no-frills menu this is your place. They serve beer and wine and apparel spritz so if you are looking for a cocktail you will have to pop in somewhere else. Service was ok, waitress was ok. Just really laid-back overall. Restaurant is situated in a perfect location, especially if heading to TD Garden
What a great hidden gem! We visited Boston for a weekend
What a great hidden gem! We visited Boston for a weekend anniversary getaway and by the 3rd day I was craving a filling, home-y meal. I just wanted some pasta made well, and Tony & Elaine's came through! I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and it was perfect. The pasta was al dente, the sauce was really good and I'm not a big fan of meatballs in general, but their award winning meatballs were pretty tasty! I don't know that I'll ever get the chance to come back to Boston in the future, but if I do, I'll make this place a priority and will tell any friends planning a trip to Boston that this place is a great option for a meal.
I was very excited to try Tony & Elaine's but,
I was very excited to try Tony & Elaine's but, unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype. We tried to go once before but, without a reservation, were unable to be seated, so we made one and came back the following week. The service was okay. I had to ask for a refill on my glass of water which is always a disappointment for me, personally. I ordered the lobster ravioli which is generally one of my favorite dishes to get anytime it is an option. The plate was $35 and, truly, I don't feel like the portion sized lived up to that price. There was also barely any lobster in it, so that was a double bummer, given how much was charged for it. Despite that, it was still REALLY delicious and I liked it - I just don't think it is a dish worth paying $35 for. Overall, it isn't a bad place to visit. I didn't hate it, I just didn't love it. If the portions were larger or the prices were lower, I would absolutely visit again. As it stands, I'll probably find some other Italian places to try.
Great Italian with friendly service.
Delicious food and friendly service. The house salads were huge with homemade croutons. The meatball appetizer was absolutely delicious! We asked to share the chicken parm and it was served proportioned on two plates for us which was a wonderful touch!! We would definitely go back.
We were excited to try Tony & Elaine's for the first time.
We were looking for a great Italian restaurant that was kid friendly and close to TD Bank. The previous reviews made us a little apprehensive but we still wanted to give it a try. Here are the pros- The restaurant is in walking distance to many hotels and the TD Bank. The food comes out very fast. If you are in a hurry, this would be a great option. We had our whole meal (appetizers, drinks, dinner) in about 30 minutes. It was casual and very clean. Cons- For us it was the service. Not sure if the waitress was having a bad night but she just seemed upset the whole time. At one point she even argued with us when an incorrect item came out to the point that another diner even overheard her and told us that they even heard what we ordered. When we asked questions about the menu we also felt that we were bothering her. The food was a hit or miss and came out at different times. The pasta dishes were very pricey for what you get, but decent. The meatballs and chicken left a lot to be desired. Most in our party left hungry and dined someone else later. We would probably visit a different restaurant next time. It just wasn't an enjoyable experience and for the price there are just so other options in area.
Awesome.
Small and not fancy but the food was awesome. I would recommend that if you're in the area check it out.
Food was delicious!! The service was absolutely great but.
.. it was incredibly hot in the restaurant. Me and my family were sweating while we're eating it was so hot. Not sure if there was a one time issue. Either way - we still enjoyed it :)
Such a wonderful quaint restaurant.
Chicken Marsala was probably the best I've had in the north end. Meatballs and pasta excellent. Bolognese with tagliatelle was spot on and the Caesar salad was delicious. Service was excellent. We will be back.
I was a solo diner visiting from California.
I loved the ambiance. Red and white checkered tables topped with a red candle holder in a cozy room. I ordered the arancinis and they were perfect. The Cesar salad was delicious with homemade croutons. I loved the Chicken Marsala. I make my own so I'm very critical of this dish when I go to restaurants and their Marsala was on point and deeelicious. Connor was definitely running the show. It was busy and it seemed like he was doing everything but he still took time to talk and to see how I was doing and make this party of one feel at home.

Meh. Food is good enough. But the service needs work - they brought our meal at the same time as the appetizer. When we asked for them to wait on the meals, they brought them back five minutes later. With empty tables, what was the rush? As for ambiance, music was blaring, so you decide.
Always a great meal.
One of the best you will get in the North End. Gnocchi is like fluffy pillows of deliciousness. Looking forward to our next visit!
Nice small Italian restaurant
We visited in October for our anniversary and had a wonderful dinner. The food was really good, we tried the garlic bread, Caesar salad, spaghetti and meatballs and lobster ravioli. Also tried the cannoli which the cherry was the best!
