A must visit!!!
Just had dinner here tonight and have to say this is the best yakatori we have had outside of Japan!! Ice cold beers, nice interior and great vibe combined with the delicious food make this an awesome spot!! Staff were super friendly and efficient. We sat up by the action and watched the food being cooked which was nice and the whole menu is so well priced you can’t go wrong. Can’t wait to come back!!
Be the first to ReplyVery good Japanese yakitori
As a long time Imanas Tei customer, I've always wondered about Torikyu, which is located right next door. I'm glad my family and I tried it. The food is very good!
The yakitori sticks are tasty (both salted and tare). The yakionigiri, salmon and mentaiko onigiri are also very good. We haven't tried their nabe or all the side dishes yet, but whatever we have tried has been delicious. This place is so much better than Yakitori Glad, which was somewhat of a disappointment.
The parking is limited, as it shares several stalls in front of the restaurant with Imanas Tei. I've always been able to find parking on King Street, though.
Now with Torikyu and Imanas Tei, my family has two of their favorite restaurants located right next to each other.
Legit yakitori
If there were the rumbling of train tracks, you would think you were in a Tokyo yakitori. Based on the restaurant’s name, ordered the various chicken parts (gizzards, cartilage, skin, …), each perfectly prepared and cooked over charcoal, and washed down with cold Kirin on tap served in a cold mug, almost identical in taste and experience to the typical Tokyo yakitori shop, down to the tick mark ordering. Also tried the bacon wrapped enoki and cod roe musubi - the mushrooms were juicy and crunchy, musubi rice steamy and fluffy, so ono.
Service was prompt, friendly and professional. Smoke smell was not overwhelming. Restaurant had a clean and homey feel. Located next door to Imanas Tei (another noteworthy Japanese restaurant) in a small building adjacent to Pucks Alley, limited parking in front.
Will be back to explore the rest of the menu.
