Great for drinks and light bites
The front patio is really cute and has plenty of heat lamps to keep you warm. While the food was pretty good, it’s definitely all on the lighter side. I’d recommend coming for drinks and apps or if you’re just looking to eat light.

First place where Craft cocktails means something. Very diverse offerings and creative ingredients. every drink we tried was very well balanced. Share plates were very tasty.

Celebrating my daughter's Birthday, we were 3 generations looking forward to something special, and ...we got it! Once inside, we were surprised by how tiny the place was: plenty of bar seating and maybe a dozen tables. We ordered several small plates to share, a fancy drink apiece, and we were not disappointed. The service was good, the food was absolutely delicious --- all small plates with very pronounced flavors ---- and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing. Easy street parking. A little dark, and cool inside: next time we'll go in daylight hours. We all loved it!.

The place was packed at 9pm on Saturday night. Cool vibe, clean, professional looking crowd. Interesting assortment of cocktails. We had oysters and fried mushrooms.

Came as a group of three... we thought it would be a good idea to just work our way through the cocktail menu! GREAT idea! So interesting and the flavours are far from traditional. We also ordered the fried mushrooms... wow. Tasty.

This is the top notch place for crafted cocktails that were created by very talented mixologist! Try the drink "in the pines" and get an order of the nuts...no get two orders...they are that good!

Cosy cocktail focused outlet in the Mission district. The house cocktails were great - sugar snap Pea-casso was a highlight. They tended towards the sweet side. But the Bartenders can fix you anything you fancy. The food was superb! You can definitely get a good dinner here if you like.

The restaurant opened on December 22 and my party of 4 tried everything on the limited menu except for the fondue. David Barzelay, one of the owners of Lazy Bear, a former lawyer turned restaurateur when the market crashed in 2009, was there serving his guests and explained why he created this concept and the different entrees. Name is akin to the laurel leaves but it is not necessarily an ingredient used in all dishes. At the time of our visit, the bar was being built out and his vision was to have a prix fixed menu of cocktails and food. Like Lazy Bear, you will need to purchase tickets to participate. Now, onto the food. Cocktail names were unique to True Laurel and I must admit, I never had experienced these drinks. Friends had Top Dawg, IPA beer selections while I had the Shaker Lemon which I highly recommend. The menu selections were all so different but very attractively presented. The fried chicken was my personal fav as was the lettuce wrap and baked potatoes. The ramen soup was a light broth and recommended as well. For dessert, we ordered the two desserts which were the Laurel ice cream and chocolate chip cookie with milk. Didn’t tast the flavor of the laurel leaf and cookie was good but we had another round of drinks and skipped the milk. The place is small and parking will be a challenge so plan accordingly and keep you group to 4 in this “bar like setting” so you can share and taste.

Nicolas impressed us with his complex and delicious cocktails. Four of us tried all of the cocktails on the menu and we each had a different favorite. The unusual grains of paradise in the Prata-tat were zesty. Lightning in a bottle sounds intimidating, but has great flavors - bright and crisp with pink lady apples. I usually don't care for tiki drinks and was pleasantly surprised that I loved Rum the jewels. However, my favorite is shaker lemon stirred which is vodka based (I usually prefer whisky, scotch, or mezcal). The extensive list of cocktail ingredients includes clarified golden beet, fermented shinko tonic, makrut leaf, sesame-washed bourbon, rainwater.... The food menu is modest in size, but big in flavor. The raw oysters with citrus were a perfect starter and we preferred them to the cooked ones. Our favorite dish is the deep fried maitake mushrooms with the onion dip - very similar to a dish a lazy bear. We had to order a second one! Our other favorite is the cheese and crab fondue with veggies and toasts. The baked potato was great - even better when we added some cheese crab fondue! Chef de Cuisine Geoff is off to a great start!
