Serendipitously ended up at the Tuar Ard Coffee Shop while touring Ireland last week. What a find! Cozy ambiance, great food (order the potato leek soup if they have it!), and the people working there were so friendly and nice. Mary was our server and went above and beyond to be friendly and efficient.
Be the first to ReplyBacon and cabbage without the cabbage!
As a group of 4 we were happy with the quality of the food. However, one of us ordered bacon and cabbage and realised after starting to eat that there was no cabbage on the plate. We alerted a waitress who said she would rectify the error. However, having waited some ten minutes, the cabbage was not forthcoming and the waitress was reminded. Her response was incredible as she said she had taken the cabbage to another table in error. Not only did she not apologise or get another portion of cabbage for our table, she laughed as if it was funny. When the bill was paid and the same waitress was reminded of the missing portion of cabbage, she acknowledged that fact but did not apologise or reduce the bill. Having read other reviews, we feel we were unlucky in our experience. However, we will not be returning.

We loved our experience at Tuar Ard! The food was absolutely delicious and the staff was so friendly with the little one! We highly recommend the Brie Wedges and if you're wondering how to make them, Nula will come out and give you the rundown! Great experience and amazing food! Mary was amazing!

This place is absolutely amazing. Such a warm and friendly atmosphere. Mary was our waitress and was very accommodating and made us feel right at home. A wide variety of choice to suit every taste bud. We will make sure to visit again.

We stopped on our way from Galway to Dublin. We ate well and were welcomed with kindness and kindness. The environment is very characteristic, well-kept and hard-working. Thank you!

Great for meeting up with family . Fabulous food, great portions. Lovely staff (thanks to Mary for being so accommodating). Look forward to our next visit.

Terrible service. Waited 40 minutes for curry chips and cheese and then they charged me €7.50 even though the menu said €6.50. I have been overcharged on many occasions and I don’t appreciate this as I am a regular customer. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone to go to tuar ard as being overcharged on many occasions adds up to spending way more than I would on a mediocre meal.
Be the first to ReplyA gem of a place.
During our driving tour throughout Ireland, this restaurant stood out as a wonderful gem of a place. We were immediately greeted by Mary, who took exceptional care of us, mixing humor with attentiveness to all of our needs. Wonderful food and town.

We were out for a drive and was looking for a place to eat. This place was close by so thought we would give it a go. Myself and my partner had curry chips and rice and our daughter had sausages and chips, food was really nice, staff were lovely and friendly, and the restaurant was clean and nice and warm. Toilets were spotless, one of the lovely staff members gave our daughter some reindeer glasses which was really nice of her, and 1 of the chef's come out with chocolate for our little one , all in all we had a great lunch in nice surroundings would definitely recommend to any one passing to stop in and have a bite to eat.

Lovely staff and delicious food. It felt like eating a home cooked meal with old friends. With lots of tables and parking, couldn’t recommend a better spot to grab a quick meal off the road. And don’t forget the delicious pear and almond pie we took home!

Great food at reasonable prices! Eggs Benedict and the coronation chicken wrap were a delight. High marks on the pancakes and turkey and stuffing sandwich.

My husband and I were traveling between Dublin and Oranmore on our first-ever trip to Ireland. He was getting a little tired from the drive and just wanted to stop and get a coffee somewhere along the way. I found Tuar Ard on Google maps. It showed it would be closing at 5 pm, and we arrived at 4:55 pm. We were hoping to just get the coffee to go, but Mary was super hospitable and invited us to sit down. She asked if we wanted a little snack, and we grabbed a cinnamon roll. She offered to heat it up, which made it even better. I ordered a hot chocolate and Mary even brought me a cup with extra marshmallows on the side. It was just the little pick-me-up that we both needed. The food and drinks were great, and the conversation with the staff was wonderful. Would recommend to others traveling along this route. Especially appreciate the friendly welcome we received from Mary.

We have visited here several times. Today we had a lovely lunch here. Our waitresses Sophie and Aoife were very pleasant and efficient. Our food came quickly and we really enjoyed it. You can see how friendly and accommodating all of the staff are. Waiting staff and chefs are working really hard to make this place excellent. It can get very busy at peak times so be prepared to wait for a table. We will visit again soon.

We stopped for coffee on our way to the airport in Dublin. Our server, Mary, assured us we had time for a hot breakfast and had our delicious food out in mo time. The brown bread and marmalade was lovely and the bacon was very tasty. Everyone was friendly and we enjoyed our visit so much. Thank you and well done!

A wonderful stop for anyone passing through. The food is delicious and hardy, the pastries and sweets are the cherry on top after you finish your meal. We’re visiting from the USA and couldn’t have found a better place for lunch. Local vibez all the way!
