Wonderful dinner with family! We came upon Via Brasil during our trip to NYC. A lovely restaurant with white linen table cloths and tasty food and drinks. Gets crowded after 6pm so you may want to call ahead for a table!
Be the first to ReplyService wasn't the best.
The restaurant wasn't full when we were there but maybe they were short staffed because our waiter didn't even remember to check on us or get us water. But he did remember to try and push all the expensive dishes on us. The food wasn't bad but it took a long time to arrive. Would not recommend the salad, it didnt taste good or fresh

We love the warm atmosphere, classy decor ( white tablecloths etc) and delicious food. I especially recommend the shrimp in an acorn squash. We usually go for pre/ theater dinner and this time we brought out of town guests.

It was our 2nd time. This time was a little disappointing experience. The food was amazing as always. We got the cheese bread, the bean soup, the picanha entree and the camarao paulista. Of course caipirinha for a drink. My surprise was that the server included 20% tip in our check without saying any word. I had to ask him if it was ($144.81 plus $29.19 tip, total $174.00, which I paid $100 in cash and the rest with my credit card) He said it was a service fee (20%). I felt terrible because they said they do sometimes. Maybe based on your ethnicity? I don't mind the gratuity to be included, but of course they have to tell you. Anyway I'll be back because of the food, but I hope you tell your servers TO ALWAYS advised the customers that the 20% tip is already included. It's up to the customers if they want to leave an extra tip based on the service experience

I was so excited to take my father here, that excitement quickly turned into embarrassment. Food was cold, and grizzled. Have not had much luck with Brazilian food in Manhattan. Is it safe to say Little Brazil is no more?

We started with cheese bread and mussels to start and both were excellent. The authenticity of the food was as real as it gets. For entrees we had the authentic Brazilian for two and shrimp in a pineapple sauce that was served in the pineapple. Again incredibly tasty and being located right next to our hotel was even better. Highly recommend this place.

A hidden Jewel in the heart of NYC , they have authentic Brazilian beer and a great menu , Wellington our waiter was absolutely the best , very attentive and helpful . The atmosphere of the place is nice and cozy . We had the Bacalhau a Gomes de Sa , and it was amazing !! That's coming from a native Brazilian . I took home the Bife a portuguesa and even tho I asked for well done it was a bit tooo well done , kind of burned on the edges so that was a little disappointing.Over all it was a great experience and I want to go back and try the other dishes on the menu to see if they are as authentic as the ones I tried . P.S: The Caipirinhas where PERFECT !!!!!

This restaurant was located beside my hotel and was the first meal I had in the city. The place was spacious, and nicely decorated. I loved the artwork, one piece in particular and would love to know who the artist is. For my meal, I ordered the salmon and vegetables. The salmon was flavorful and had a beautiful sear on it, and had a delicious sauce that accompanied it. The vegetables were tasty and not overcooked. And the cappuccino I ordered was the perfect ending to my meal. Great ambience and service. Thoroughly enjoyed this place.

Located in the heart of Little Brazil, I dined here with a friend for dinner. The interior is lovely, vibrant, colorful with a welcoming atmosphere. There were white table cloths and pretty pink flowers on the table, giving the place an elegant touch. Of course we had to get the cheese bread, which was excellent. Sticky, strong cheesy flavor, still warm, and perfect little tasty morsels! For my entree, I ordered the Grande sampler meat platter, which included strip steak, Brazilian sausage, pork chop, as well as chicken. This was served with rice and beans, along with yucca flour and pico de gallo. I think my favorite was the steak, which was nice and tender, as well as packed with flavor. The Brazilian sausage was wonderfully juicy, succulent, and had just the right chewy consistency. The pork chop was also tasty, and was very well seasoned. The chicken was probably my least favorite, because I'm not normally impressed by it. This chicken was decent and was pleasantly soft, but a little on the bland side. The rice was perfectly cooked and usually I'm not really a fan of beans, but paired with the rice, it was pretty good. I also enjoyed the yucca flour mix, which had a sandy consistency, along with raisins and veggies. This was a nice blend, especially eaten together with the pico de gallo and meats. The pico de gallo added a lovely fresh, slightly crunchy element to the meal. For dessert, my friend and I shared the Doce de Leite com Queijo, which was Dulce de Leche with Brazilian white cheese. This was a very simple, yet delicious preparation of pure, sweet, rich, milky, deeply caramely, and irresistibly smooth Dulce de leche. The white cheese was mild and dipped with Dulce de Leche made for mouthwatering bites.Service was wonderful throughout. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Also, the prices are pretty reasonable, especially considering the midtown area and proximity to Times Square. I would be open to returning and would like one of the seafood dishes, such as the Fresh Pollock and Shrimp.

What a delicious meal we had! Super friendly n courteous service, which is always appreciated. We started w Salgadilhos ( sampler of fried aps) $12 for 6pcs. My favorite is the beef pastel ( like empanadas but much better!) The caipirinhas drink was soo good. Perfectly limed n cachaça. Vatapa is perfectly seasoned w nice shrimp n cod.I hope this restaurant survives the pandemic. Next time I want to try the paellas. The bacalhau was well balanced, sometimes it can be very salty. Comes w rice. I ordered side of black beans, so good it's a must w rice. For desert we had the brigadeiros, chocolate truffles. Yum yum. The manager helped us take pictures by the gorgeous white piano. I grew up in Brasil n this restaurant brings me back to my childhood. Specially the entrance's black n white wave tile, which reminds of the sidewalk in Rio's copacabana beach.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was ok.
Nun bad to say, this that I ordered the steak tasted burnt. Like right before it was burnt really bad they took it off the stove an put it on a plate. Noddles/pasta was bland as well. The only thing I liked was the drinks & Brazilian chocolates
Be the first to ReplyIf you want Brazilian food this is the place.
It a small place but always crowded so rsvp. The food is always good. We usually get Brazilian sampler as appetizer and grilled skirt steak which comes with rice and beans, it use to be unlimited rice and beans but now they charge $7 each. Omg that was one of the reasons going here. Oh well. I still will go but limit myself to the rice and beans. And they have small, spicy chilis when you ask that goes well with everything. The paella is what I usually would order which is fantastic but this time I got the beef stroganoff. I liked it but I think I would of liked it better if it came over egg noodles rather than rice. And of course don't forget to get a few caipirinhas.

Went here over the weekend to celebrate my birthday with a long time friend. The service was very courteous despite our reservation being close to their closing time. The food was ok to me. I don't think I really had time to dig into the flavor of the dish I had and mainly focused on the drinks. I would definitely come back to give it another try and really absorb the experience. Decorum was beautiful and had a vintage appeal to it. Right in the heart of Times Square... is where you can find it all..
Be the first to ReplyAlways consistent food! Love this place.
Best Brazilian food in NYC. Shrimp stew ( moquecas) is incredible!
Be the first to ReplyFood was non-existent.
Literally. I ordered on GrubHub. The restaurant canceled the order for no stated reason. I received only an email that I didn't read immediately, no text, no phone call. Just no food. Ended up with dinner much later than I wanted from a restaurant of much lower caliber chosen for faster delivery ... on my birthday. Thoroughly unacceptable.

It's a nice restaurant with a nice decor , the appetizers were good so was the juice, but the muqueca de Peixe had no salt . I left not so happy with this place for the second time .
Be the first to ReplyLet me tell you, Via Brasil Restaurant was simply cool.
Sooooo good and well priced. I will definitely tell all my friends to try their Fried Yucca, it was simply just outstanding. Bonus that their service is so outstanding, they are so quick and helpful. Could not recommend more highly.

I randomly discovered this spot when I had an appointment close by. They have nice outdoor seating so I decided to sit down and grab some lunch. The entire staff was so sweet. They brought out a heater just for me since it's starting to get colder. My waiter, G, was absolutely amazing. He came by enough to make sure I had everything I needed but not too many times. So it felt nice to have such great service. Also, the food was amazing. I ordered the chicken with mushroom sauce, which came with rice and beans. I also ordered a side of fries and a mango mojito. Everything came out great. Might go back again when I'm in the area again :)
