Via Triozzi Dallas Reviews from The Last Year
I've been hearing about Via Triozzi for months, so I'm
I've been hearing about Via Triozzi for months, so I'm really glad I was able to nab an elusive Saturday dinner reservation this past weekend for a group of 5 adults + 1 child! We arrived a little after 6 PM - it was super rainy but the valet stand at the front helped us quickly get out of the vehicle and hustle into the restaurant. The interior is really beautiful and helped set the tone for the whole night. All the staff we encountered were super helpful and great, from making sure the baby in our party was having a good time to explaining the menu and recommending wines. We ended up splitting a bunch of apps and starters and ordering every single pasta to share family style. I enjoyed all the apps we had in some shape or form, but the standouts were definitely the ricotta montata and the coccoli. The ricotta montata was so bright and flavorful and paired great with the pane bianco that came with it. I'm usually a summer squash hater so I was prepared to be ambivalent about the zucchini inclusion but I actually loved the dish so much. Definitely would return just for that. And the coccoli's crispy dough paired super well with the San Daniele prosciutto and the stracchino cheese. I believe this was my first time having stracchino and it was super creamy with a mildly tart bite; I'll definitely be seeking it out on my own for cheese boards and such in the future. The arancini was also great; I have to say it's the moistest and smoothest arancini I've had. I always love an arugula salad and the arugula and bresaola had the perfect balance of pepper from the arugula, tart brightness from the squeeze of lemon, and savory chew from the bresaola. The meatballs were denser than I usually like them, but they paired well with the pomodoro sauce they came swimming in. The noodles came out plated beautifully and I also really enjoyed those dishes. Some of the noodles were not quite as al dente as I enjoy them most, but the linguine al vongole was a perfect dish; would also come back just for it. Flavors were on point, rich without being overpowering, tart without being too sour, strong clam flavor without being too fishy, and the linguine was perfectly cooked. The ravioli was my second favorite; love a winter squash pasta, and the brown butter sage sauce complemented the ravioli super well. My husband and I aren't huge red sauce fans so the lasagne and the tagliatelle were mostly lost on us, but the tagliatelle was cooked very well! And the carbonara was solid; the sauce was slightly gritty, and more than a couple of bites would've been too rich for me, but the flavors were excellent. Sadly the fruit tart that many rave about was not on the dessert menu the night that we went; the tiramisu was an excellent consolation prize, but I guess we'll just have to come back to try the tart next time :) Looking forward to seeing how the menu changes with the seasons, and can't wait to potentially experience the rooftop area in the future!

Delicious! Wonderful ambiance, attentive service, and amazing food. Loved the ricotta montana, cacio e Pepe, and bolognese -- also ordered the coccoli but would skip next time. Great drinks too. Definitely going to add this to my Italian restaurant rotation.
Overall, a really beautiful restaurant with great service.
Reservations are pretty hard to get. They have free valet, which makes parking really easy. I liked the coccoli, and especially liked the cheese that it came with. Personally wasn't a big fan of the ragu or lasagna. I thought the ragu was a bit bland though the fresh noodles were nice. The chicken was decent but not my favorite either. We ended up mainly eating the potatoes that came with the chicken.
Loved this small gem - it did feel like a trattoria in Rome.
The food was all delicious. Wish they had more pasta choices tho. The space is small and reservations are hard to get- but it was a very enjoyable evening.
Loved the vibe and style of this place.
The pasta was so good and our server was very helpful with recommendations. Hard to get a good resy time, but well worth it. Only knock is they were not able to seat us at our reservation time. Definitely would come back!
Wonderful upscale comfort Italian
My family and I had a delightful dining experience at Via Triozzi, and the morning after, itβs still a topic of pleasant conversation. The restaurant, situated in a prime location, captivates with its charming ambiance and excels in delivering exceptional Italian cuisine. Our meals embodied βupscale comfortβ, a term we coined to describe the array of delicious dishes. The appetizers, particularly the Arancini and Ricotta Matata, were a fantastic start. The wine list, while focused more on Italian selections over Napa Cabs, was thoroughly impressive. The entrΓ©es truly shone; the lasagna was possibly the best weβve ever enjoyed, and the Chicken Cacciatore, lovingly prepared according to the ownerβs grandmotherβs recipe, was remarkable. However, it was the Butternut Squash Ravioli that stood out as the pinnacle of our meal. The service was as impressive as the food, with attentive staff ensuring a wonderful experience. The presence and engagement of Lee, the owner, added a personal touch that made our visit even more memorable. We left Via Triozzi already looking forward to our next visit.β

Personally consider this restaurant a bit overhyped, appreciate the seasonal menu but service, food, and cocktails were mediocre at best, the ricotta Montata was the only stand out, though not worth returning for it. 5/5 on ambience but overall it was a miss for me
Very okay.
Apps mediocre. Lasagna good - but some parts hot, some luke warm. Tiramisu Tom Thumb at best and came out along with 5 fruit flies :( Went here for our anniversary, saw the reviews and were excited. You're better off going to Carbone or Fachini, especially at this price. Drinks strong so that helped.
Went here recently (guided by the many positive reviews).
It's clear this restaurant is a victim of its own success. The food? Average at best. The fried dough appetizer was missing acid, and the cheese was flavorless. The uninspired ravioli was too al dente, and the lasagna was not hot. I will say that the sauce was flavorful. Tiramisu was so forgettable that we went to voodoo donuts next door to cleanse the palette. Design of the restaurant is neat. Hostess was nice, waiter was indifferent. Spend your hard earned bucks on pasta and the rest elsewhere.

Let me start by saying, this restaurant has a great ambiance and feel, however the food is not good. Ordered the clam Linguine and had to throw away most of the clams , they were so fishy and had a bad odder, seems they were either very old or frozen. This is my favorite dish to order at several Italian restaurants and don't ever remember getting clams as bad. The appetizers were just Ok

I had the meat balls and lasagna and both are amazing! The layers of the lasagna are so good that each layer takes your mouth to another region of Italy. A word of caution for the tiramisu as you might pass out because it's so good! Overall 10/10 for food, service and ambience. The head chef and owner even dimmed the wall lights to make the atmosphere JUST RIGHT... No detail goes unnoticed. This is the best restaurant in Dallas!
Bene, Bene, Molto Bene .....
Wow, I am surprised that with all the good press Via Triozzi has received that no one has written a review. Therefore I will try to give a decent overview without being too detailed or boring. First, being located in a very busy section of Greenville Ave traffic is congested and parking is limited so be sure to plan ahead to be on time and to use the valet parking. Second, this is a well designed and appointed venue. No problems here reading a menu in subdued lighting. Third, don't expect a typical pizza and pasta Italian restaurant or an extensive menu. This is all well developed and executed recipes of traditional Italian dishes. Portions are ample. Share tastes of dishes with tablemates to get the full experience. I wish they had a tasting menu. We are not big into veggies, but theirs' were awesome. The Ricotta Montana and the Romano Beans will be on my table next time we visit. The ricotta preparation with the bread was perfect and the char on the beans was spot on. I also loved the pine nuts with the beans. The Bolognese pasta was tasty and very meaty. The Cacio e pepe was plated beautifully, but I think i would ask for Parm rather than the Romano because the Romano was a little to tangy for me. Do order the Pane Bianca bread service, delicious. The waitstaff could not be faulted. Our server, Ania, quickly replaced my wife's flat draft Coke with a cold can and had the bar switch over to cans. Thank you. The barrel aged Manhattan was perfect. Make reservations ASAP because the place is popular.

Ask a Question |
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue? |
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
