This place was recommended to us by friends and we had to try i enjoy dumplings restaurants. The food was good but I have had better at a lower price around Sac. I tried many items from here and I would eat here again if I didn't already have another spot I enjoyed a bit more. I

I was looking forward to this place because my dad was raving about the Chinese food! *Dim sum hours are from 11am-3pm* We arrived around 11:30am on a Sunday and they were super packed. They don't really have a big seating area and with the weather being rainy outside, we all couldn't help but squish inside..You write your name down on the clipboard and you have to remember your number- I wish this system was a bit more organized, it seemed people weren't paying attention to their number being called, so when other people would be getting seated, the party that was called would get upset that another party was being seated before them. For a party of 3, it took about 20-25 minutes. We got seated and they hand you a menu where you can check off exactly what you want- no carts here!! I will say, service was pretty quick. However, our order did get mixed up a bit. We checked off the Siu Mai and received the Bean Curd with Shrimp, I looked at the menu again to make sure I didn't order that, but I can see why they got it mixed up because it looked similar.. I told the server and he took the bean curd off our tab and gave us the Siu Mai on the house, thanks! We also didn't receive our order of the shrimp rice noodle, but I did tell the server and we were already so full we didn't take it. Everything was very delicious, super authentic! We enjoyed the mango pudding also, it's like a mango flan. I would like to come back and try out their Chinese food they have.
Be the first to ReplySo good.
Pretty pricey for dim sum, but best we've had in a long time. Highly recommend the egg custards and mango pudding. Everything was delicious. Some items came out cold, others piping hot. Service was great. Wait wasn't too long. We'll definitely come back!

We were a bit worried when we pulled up at 2pm on a Saturday and there were still a bunch of people waiting outside the restaurant. It was a bit confusing at first because the hostess was ignoring me when I asked about getting on the waitlist. Finally got my name on the list and the wait wasn't too painful. We got seated in about 20-25 minutes and the food came out pretty quick. The dim sum was good. The mango pudding... meh! It was artificial flavored mango. I wouldn't recommend it! The restaurant was a bit loud. The servers were quick, attentive and friendly. At one point the music was cranked up so obnoxiously loud we wondered why? Because the wait wasn't too long, the experience was okay. If the wait was longer than 30 minutes, it wouldn't have been worth it.
Be the first to ReplyThis is my go to spot for dim sum in the area.
I've experienced dine in and take out. The staff is usually very friendly, but they can get busy and when it is they work hard to keep things moving. The best experience is dining in with friends at one of the big, round, lazy susan tables and ordering a lot of fun items to have bites of. There are so many great items on their menu, and not just on the dim sum menu. My favorite items to order are the siu mai, sesame balls, fried pork dumplings and all the rice rolls- especially the steamed golder shrimp rice roll. Depending on who I go with we'll try new menu items and we always share.I've ordered dim sum for take out a few times as well. It's not as good as dining in, but there's something nice about enjoying a little too much food at home. The parking lot can be a bit busy, but there are usually plenty of spots and both take out and dine in have been pretty quick during my experiences.
Be the first to ReplyI was a little worried because the we were the only people
I was a little worried because the we were the only people in the restaurant for the first 1/2 hour. The service was fantastic. The team took great care of us. We started with some appetizers, potstickers and spring rolls. They were beautifully made and tasted great. I was hungry so I ordered the General Tso's chicken. The chicken pieces were hearty and cooked well. The sauce was the ideal flavor level. I was a little bummed they were out of Dim Sum, so I guess I'll have to come back and try it next time!Great food, great location, great service!
Be the first to ReplyThis place did not disappoint.
The inside was spacious and clean. Servers were accommodating and nice. The food was fresh and very yummy! I enjoyed the seafood clay pot and corn egg drop soup. I can see why this place earned their Michelin star. I will be coming back for sure!
Be the first to ReplyThis is a place that I've been wanting to go for a long
This is a place that I've been wanting to go for a long time and after coming here I've started regretting not going sooner! The food was immensely satisfactory and full of flavor. The BBQ meat platter was a nice spread and perfect for any meat lovers. They also come with 2 sauces, the usual housing sauce and another which tasted like fermented plum. The sauce which tasted like fermented plum was super tasty and paired really well with the meats as it had a hint of sweetness while the sour profile helped cut through the fattiness of the meat to achieve a perfect balance. As for the spicy intestines with fermented Cabbage, this one really impressed me. As a big fan of intestines, this was a really good dish which complemented so well with the pickled cabbage which was salty and sweet. Then the chow fun was also fantastic and definitely one of the better ones I've had so definitely full marks for it. The ribs with fermented red soy bean curd was tasty but my one complaint with it is that there were some shards of bone which I had to watch out for. But overall, a fantastic meal. On the other hand, thid was a very well lit and clean restaurant with visually appealing decor.
Be the first to ReplyFINALLY! I made it in on time to catch the dim sum.
Dim Sum is served only until 3pm here. The food is really good. Only thing I didn't like was the service. Service was a little slow & I felt like a bother every time I needed something like for example a straw, or even to-go boxes. It's nice & clean inside, & I love the dim sum menus, there's pics of each item on there so it makes it very convenient to order. Also, hot tea is 2$ a person. I've never been charged for hot tea at a dim sum restaurant before. It's also a little more pricier than Happy Garden on Stockton Blvd, which is my normal go to.
Be the first to ReplyI am in love with their dim sum.
I have been eating at this owners establishments since I was a child and she has always been very sweet and friendly. The servers are nice and the restaurant is clean.
Be the first to ReplyThe service was great and most of the food was good.
The hot & sour soup was not good at all. It had an overwhelming black pepper taste to it and was more gelatinous than other hot & sour soups we've had. I definitely wouldn't order it again. The pork chow mein was decent as was the kung pao chicken. The kung pao chicken wasn't very spicy though which was kind of a let down. The soup dumplings weren't what I was expecting. There was very little "soup" it was mostly just juice from the filling. Overall, I'd go back but definitely try something else.
Be the first to ReplyMichelin Guide and dim sum.
. I'm in! Met a friend on a Saturday a hour after they opened. It was busy, but not too bad. The place is tucked in the corner near chilli's. The parking lot is small and packed. The interior was nice as were the tables and chairs. The food was good. I ordered the portuguese egg tarts. I normally don't care for wgg tarts at dim sum, but these were a little different. The crust was nice and flakey and I loved the egg custard filling.. definitely thinking about ordering it just for pick up. Tried the beef chow fun and a few other dim sum dishes. The bbq pork baked bao was delicious, however the bbq pork filling from ABC Bakery is still hands down the best. The beef chow fun was good, but a little greasy. The price point was a little much for what you get and quality wise. The service was eh. I had to keep asking for water, napkins, boxes and the check. Will come back here and try different dim sum and Portuguese egg tarts to go!
Be the first to ReplyThis was my first time eating at this restaurant and I'm
This was my first time eating at this restaurant and I'm quite surprised of how nice it is.My husband and sister were also in attendance and sad to say we came later in the evening where there was no dim sum which was our original plan, but still the food was good. It's very clean and I would definitely take my parents out here.We had ordered through our waiter rather than through the QR CODE app from the table. All that we ordered was so delicious and the wait for our food was really quick which is really surprising. The service was excellent. Can't wait to come again when the dim sum option is available.
Be the first to ReplyThis is my usual place for dim sum.
Today, a weekday, was an experience unlike any. The dim sum came out in record time. Less than 10 minutes. Everything looked dried on the top like it's been sitting there waiting for someone to pay top dollar for mediocre food. That was me. Service was great, food, very disappointing. I'll stick to the weekend when things are hectic and food moves and is being freshly steamed and I don't even mind waiting for it since it will be piping hot and needs to be cooled down prior to eating. Very very disappointing. If Panda Express served dim sum...it might be fresher than what I received.
Be the first to ReplyJust not our cup of tea.
Nice space and great service with large beautiful seating area. Trying something new and items we came for (Peking duck) was not available this visit. Ordered salt and pepper pork chop and they were sweet which was odd. The chow main was okay and so was the potstickers.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is always fantastic.
The food is consistently great. Love the dim sum for lunch. However I do miss the carts coming by so I can see what's hot and yummy. Hopefully they will start that again.
Be the first to ReplyNever get disappointed with their dim sum.
Wait can be long on the weekends and holidays but it's worth it.
Be the first to ReplyI live closeby and my family and I go here every Sunday.
They never dissappoint. The staff are friendly and attentive. The food is always fresh and perfect. The setting is also traditional and nicely decorated. We are met with smiles and good service each time. I will not go to other dim sum places because this one is the best.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was ok.
Very clean restaurant was a plus. My favorite Chinese meal is Almond chicken. They didn't have it.:( Most Chinese places have it but these days don't know how to make it correctly. Almond chicken must have a lot of flavor in the chicken. Other wise it's just bland chicken and it ruins the entire dish. The chicken has to be marinated in garlic and ginger sauce. I had the cashew chicken. It was ok the chicken had good flavor but it was still bland It could have had more ginger and garlic infused into it. The waitress brought my cashew chicken to me. There was so much chicken on the plate you couldn't even see the cashews. Oh wait maybe it was because there was no cashews in the dish. I thought hmm did I get the right order?? Maybe this was someone else's order. I had white rice too but. I thought where is the cashews?? And the sweet and sour for my white rice.. The lady quickly rushed out a small cup of cashews and dumped them in my plat Ot was disappointing. The cashews were uncool Anyways not the best Chinese food. Lacks a lot of flavor. The family members we're really ok kล
Be the first to ReplyWe have been enjoying Yue Huang for a very long time
We have been enjoying Yue Huang for a very long time because the quality of the food has been excellent and the staff are professional and friendly, BUT, recently we have had problems with the quality of the food when CK, (one of the owners) is not at the restaurant. This visit on June 27,2022, we ordered from the menu and all the dimsum was not heated properly, and was actually lukewarm. The only course that was hot as it should be, was the Chinese broccoli. The soy sauce chow mein was very cold! It is not pleasant to write this commentary, but I feel it is important because we DO know CK, and the pride she has in maintaining Yue Huang as a Michelin restaurant. Aside from the lacking temperature of the food, we have also found that the young men who work in the restaurant are not always polite or thoughtful. There are always three who are there when CK isn't, and during this last visit, we felt they were rude, (one even touched our bag of leftover takeout to see what was in it, because I had told him that we didn't receive the sesame balls we had ordered. He touched our bag with the same gloves hand with which he was picking up dirty dishes and cleaning with.) The sesame balls were brought by a woman (not a manager, not wearing a suit, but clearly a worker), who obviously thought we had not paid for it so she picked up the menu which we had made our selections on and yelled to another employee something in Chinese. Keep in mind the restaurant had many patrons. We tried to stop her and tell her we had paid, but she ignored us. I had asked for extra chili sauce, which we never received for our take-out order. A note: the sesame balls should not be cut in half without first consulting the customer. They are supposed to be round, and the staff presumptuously cut them all in half! So inconsiderate!I hope both owners of Yue Huang will read this review, and CK know a how to reach us, so we welcome her call. Yue Huang has always in the past prior to Covid, maintained a very pleasant and welcoming atmosphere, which is attractive to the diverse patrons, and unlike most Chinese restaurants, where one expects the rude and abruptness of the Chinese owners and workers. I am hoping my review will help Yue Huang to rein in the employees who do not care how they treat the customer when CK is not there. I am including photos.
Be the first to ReplyAll the local Chinese flocking in was a great sign.
ย ย The wonderful smells was the other. We were lucky to not have to wait very long to be seated.Staff was very attentive and responsive. ย Every item we ordered for Dim Sun was delicious! ย Food temperature, textures, and flavors were spot on.Great brunch option for authentic Cantonese Dim Sum!

I hope they were just having a bad day yesterday but I'm writing this review in hopes that management will see it and do better. We have been going to Yue Huang for years and thought it was a nice close alternative to Asian Pearl. Food was always decent pre-pandemic. During the pandemic, portion sizes were smaller and price went up. Understandable and we're happy to support the businesses. I am not sure what happened yesterday but we ordered several dishes and only the two tofu dishes were edible. The meat in the claypot dish was so tough, I spit it out. The pork belly...oh my goodness, it was so tough my fork wouldn't even go in to it and when I pushed harder, the pork belly sailed across my table.Portion sizes are still small and the price went up even more. I am hoping it was just a bad day. Other restaurants seem to be keeping up with quality. New Hong Kong Wok, Jade Fountain, Asian Pearl...I will check back for reviews after mine to monitor quality.
Be the first to ReplyOn Saturday evening we attended a 20 person birthday party.
It's a nice place to have a big party. The waiters were attentive and were at hand the entire time we were seated at the tables. The first dish was fruit salad covered by lobster pieces with a drizzled something on top. The lover was stood up on end. Kind of weird but maybe that's standard fare.Dish after dish came out and everything was good. It's Cantonese cuisine and quite bland. I'm more used to spicy and hot. This restaurant took over a Mimi's or Olive Garden old location. It has a European look to the exterior. Would I eat here again? Sure. The carpets were clean and the tables tidy....

At $75 for two people for brunch? Way over priced! I almost passed out when the bill was dropped at our table! I've taken friends here before within the first two years of this business opening and it was out of this world for both taste and price. I was so happy that we had a good dim sum place in the neighborhood. Not any more...dim sum carts - GONE! More often than not, the dim sum is lukewarm or even cold and many things don't even come out to your table in the high quality they came to the table in the past. For instance, the salted egg yam was in little bit some pieces, not nice whole slices; Chinese broccoli not only was cold but no leaves, ย just chopped up stems. The price increase is purely and unequivocally unjustifiable to say the least. I will never go back there again and I certainly won't suggest anyone that I know to visit there either. I'll just drive all the way over to south Sac to get good, authentic, reasonably priced dim sum.

Since no more carts, dim sum is always cold and not piping hot anymore. I've tried three times to give benefit of doubt. Unfortunately food has gone downhill.
