Zak the Baker Miami Reviews from The Last Year
I bought 3 drinks this afternoon and only one was done
I bought 3 drinks this afternoon and only one was done properly. Two of the matcha lattes were super sweet even though I specifically asked for a little of honey. Moreover, the matcha were not made as advertised. The matcha was pre prepared in a bottle. Wasted $15 on matcha as I had to throw them.
French toast was incredible! And the croissants lived up to
French toast was incredible! And the croissants lived up to the hype! We will definitely be back.
Such a wonderful place for drinks and pastries! We had
Such a wonderful place for drinks and pastries! We had already had lunch but saw this place when walking by so we dropped by for a drink. So glad we did! The pastries were delicious and so were the drinks! The chocolate babka and the olive oil cake were sooo good. We also ordered an iced latte and a hibiscus tea and both were so refreshing. Pro tip: the kind waiter told us that if we sat down at the table there's an 18% service charge but since we're weren't ordering from the main menu, we could just place our bakery and drinks order at the register and sit down. That's what we did and left a tip for the kindness. We will definitely recommend this place and return for a full meal next time we are in the area! Prices were quite reasonable considering how topknotch the food is!
This was a great find.
The drip coffee was delicious, but the sausage , and egg sandwich was amazing, especially because it was made from salmon chorizo. I added lettuce and radishes to my sandwich. It's dog friendly too.
We were looking for something to do before we had to head
We were looking for something to do before we had to head back to Miami airport and my sister found this bakery. The pictures online is what pulled us in. Upon arriving, we found out that it is part cafe as well. We didn't get to try their breakfast, but we got a few pastries and they were delicious!!! We told ourselves that we were to visit Miami again, we would come back to try the restaurant. We can only imagine that their food is as good as the pastries! It was very clean and they had a lot of options. There is also outdoor seating.
Loved this place.
The pastries are absolutely delicious. We tried the guava pastry, the cinnamon roll and the almond croissant. We also tried the challa French toast which was also amazing. We tried the eggs and yogurt dish and enjoyed that as well. Our latte was perfectly prepared. I highly recommend this place.
Amazing bakery located near the Wynwood Murals.
We had a variety of toasts/bagels as an afternoon snack, and each plate was a good portion size for a full meal. We enjoyed the pastries (bagels & croissant) so much we ordered additional ones to go. If we weren't just visiting, we would've ordered some bread loaves too! The food and drinks we ordered came out quickly and we didn't have to wait for a table on a weekday afternoon. The waitress serving us was super friendly and attentive and even gave us an unexpected discount! They have so many pastry and bread options, plus some basic coffee/tea/drinks too. There's a good amount of "food" available for a bakery, and this place seemed to get plenty of locals as well as out of towner visitors. Would definitely come back!
Zak the Baker truly has some of the best bread in town.
Definitely worth the visit when in wynwood
Went for brunch and everything we tried was really good.
I will definitely come back.
This is one of the most crowded places in Wynwood to have
This is one of the most crowded places in Wynwood to have brunch, and for the weirdest reason, they don't work on Saturdays. You won't be seated if you don't have a reservation, and it works terribly. We were running late for 5 minutes past the grace period, and on Resy, it is said to call the restaurant in this case. Well, no one will respond to you, and you'll have to listen to a standup comedy from the answering machine. When we arrived, the not-so-friendly hostess said they gave away our reservation and that we had to wait for 30 min. After 30 min, we said that we would leave if we didn't have our table, and after that, we were finally seated. Let's leave this situation aside and talk about the food. What is really worth going through the reservation struggle for is the Nova bagel. The house-smoked salmon is incredibly good, the bagel is perfect, and even the tomato tastes farm-grown. Hazelnut croissants have a lot of rich chocolate cream and are covered with amazing hazelnut chocolate. Also, I like the chocolate babka. Basically, all of their bread is delicious and very fresh. On the other hand, every other dish on the menu was mediocre: tomato bisque with grilled cheese, a labneh + eggs plate, and rock-hard crudite salad. Zak the Baker is a super-hyped place and is recommended in every Miami guide. So you'll need some patience if you want to have that bagel in the morning.
The best bread and breakfast in Miami
The drinks and breads are very delicious, when I return to Miami I want to return. It is a bad idea to go without a reservation because it is always full and the place is not very big. We had an iced late coffee and an iced hibiscus lemodane we loved it. Almond Croissant highly recommended
They didn't respect the sits, the service was really bad
They didn't respect the sits, the service was really bad and rude. Sadly because the food is decent
Phenomenal baked goods, savory pastries and the Caesar
Phenomenal baked goods, savory pastries and the Caesar salad is incredible. I've tried a quarter of the menu and it's so savory and delicious. I love the incorporation of smoked salmon in sandwiches and croissants, will keep coming back for more !
Good prices! Great ambience and amazing service from Pablo.
Definitely we will coming back !
WOW the Hazelnut Croissant was A-MAZING, 5 stars alone for
WOW the Hazelnut Croissant was A-MAZING, 5 stars alone for that pastry. U MUST GET ONE. Iced latte was gooood. Challah French Toast was just okay. Wish I had ordered their bagel or baguette instead of the toast (I now know for next time).
Completely exceeded my expectations!!! Seriously obsessed
Completely exceeded my expectations!!! Seriously obsessed with the food here! We started off with mocha lattes with almond milk which were amazing. We had the nova on a sesame bagel. The bagel was crispy on the outside and chewy and flavorful inside. The cream cheese was so fresh and lox was not overly salty. The addition of pickled red onions and crispy capers made this sandwich bomb! We also ordered an everything bagel and fluffy scrambled eggs. For dessert, we had double chocolate babka and I can say I'm addicted! Rich cocoa filling in the most fluffy dough with a crunchy exterior. Service was great! Table was ready at the exact time of the reservation. Def coming back for brunch and to stock up on bread!
Friendly environment with various types of drinks and foods
Friendly environment with various types of drinks and foods including pastries and sandwiches. The workers are really friendly and the environment seems relaxed. The cheese danish was not crazy good it was just average. I also got the matcha latte and it was pretty good
Great for quick bite
Great for breakfast, lunch or brunch. Good kosher food. Friendly staff. Very good coffee. Amazing pastries! Cool atmosphere.
this place had the best cinnamon roll i've ever had, and
this place had the best cinnamon roll i've ever had, and also the service was amazing! i love the window on the bakery so you can see the food being made, and overall this establishment was such a treat. the bagels were amazing!
Order ahead was super easy and it was really busy, so glad
Order ahead was super easy and it was really busy, so glad that's an option. The cookies are the best I've ever had, especially the flourless chocolate almond one. Choc chip also huge and soft and delicious. Sourdough grilled cheese and tomato bisque also amazing. The salmon bacon BLT was great, and my wife didn't love the Caesar but more of a preference thing than quality. Yucca fries also insanely good. All the bakery items are soft, flaky, and just perfect. A must stop before several hours of wynwood wandering.
had high hopes for this bakery because saw the crowd
had high hopes for this bakery because saw the crowd outside and reviews from the infatuation. the hosts outside the store had poor attitude and was sightly demeaning to our party. we waited 20 minutes just standing before realizing the outdoor seating area was available. the almond croissant was very stale and not flakey at all. the rest of the bakery's were average - nothing i would come back for.
Just a phenomenal bakery.
Can get really busy so try to come early if you can before the lunch rush.
Fantastic
The menu is great. The food is excellent. The staff are friendly and helpful and the service is terrific. And of course we bought bread/danish to take home!
So much more than a bakery!
Definitely make a reservation if you are a party of more than one or two. The place is packed, and deservedly so. The food is so fresh, and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this unique and high quality bakery and cafe.
Family gathering for lunch
We drove from Fort lauderdale in 2 cars and then met up with more family at the restaurant. We waited quite a bit and finally we were seated outside . In two picnic tables . I ordered Iced Hibiscus lemonade and my husband ordered just hibiscus 🌺 tea . Then we ordered challah French toast already smothered in maple syrup. My granddaughter ordered only a lentil soup. We all ate well. But I only have a few pics because I wasn’t sitting with the other family members to take their pics. Long wait . Nice area .
No feta please
Went to Wynwood to see super blue and we’re searching for a vegan bakery… zak the baker is not vegan, but they had a few vegan options. The vegan banana bread was pretty tasty. The smashed avocado toast (without the feta) was a savory surprise. I would give 5 stars, but the wait time was long and the somewhat crude atmosphere. I will say the oat milk latte was pretty tasty as well.
Bakery
A bakery on the Michelin guide, a rather unusual choice, but much appreciated. The place is rather bare, an oven with "visible" production, a rather broad menu to draw on. We chose a classic chocolate biscuit, of excellent workmanship and intense flavours, as well as the very delicate French toast - albeit fried. Coffee to review, but you can't have everything. Fully promoted.
Busy and popular - if you have to wait, it will be worth it!
Fantastic find, recommended by a local who happened to be passing and who we stopped for a recommendation. Excellent and very busy bakery, wide range of pastries and also healthy options. Great to sit and watch the bakers at work too!
food is great but service is below zero
Staff is totally not motivated, they are dancing and hanging around. I wish there was a manager then they would start working. Food is good so thats why its so unfair for the kitchen staff.
A great find in Wynwood
A great little find in Wynwood after a trip to the walls. Delicious French toast and we even took some cakes and pastries to go which were also delicious. I highly recommend the French toast and the olive oil cake which may sound slightly strange but it’s amazing!

It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
