This is a beautiful restaurant perfect for dinner, an anniversary or birthday. We ordered the gyu no kushiyaki (beef skewers), piri kara hamachi (spicy yellowtail), piri kara maguro (spicy tuna) and california maki rolls. The rolls come with 6 pieces each and their presentation was fantastic. My favorite roll was the spicy tuna. The waiter was attentive and was always making sure we were taken care of. The crunchy hazelnut crunch bar and the chawan mushi desserts were delicious. I would definitely come here again.
Best restaurant!
All was excellent... we had all their signature dishes, and all were amazingly delicious, as expected from Zuma. The ambiance is great, the food excellent and the service unparalleled..
Starting to be a rip off joint
Great meal, lovely evening then you presented with the bill. High service charge which you expect. However waiter who we have had little interaction with demands a 20% tip on top of the service charge. That's another £100 on the bill. When you refuse it creates an atmosphere which takes the edge off the evening. No one wants that at the end of the evening it spoils your night out. There are plenty of other restaurants that dont ask for tips on top of service charge.
Amazing
We went to celebrate our anniversary as a family and we were very happy with the food and service Food is delicious Service is always very nice
'Fun Evening'
Happening place, popular with Indians, nice for a light evening with drinks etc quite good food and then we hung around the bar after dinner worth a visit
Waiters were very sad!
I was overall happy with our experience. There are many things that could be picked upon when you’re paying these kind of prices though. Starting with the waiters that even though very professional and attentive did not smile once in the two hours we were there. Even when they brought my son’s birthday cake out and sang for him they looked like they were at a funeral. The ladies at reception however were cheerful and enthusiastic. The food was good but not exceptional and the portions were tiny. When these types of restaurants charge extortionate amounts for little bits of food they inevitably raise the customer’s expectations which will bring judgement.
Nice food and service, but don't reserve the counter
The food was nice, cocktails were very good. I do not recommend reserving counter seats - the fire from the robata is burning your face and filling your hair with smoke.. Service was friendly and they did help us and moved us to the bar which we really appreciated.
Fancy Zuma Lunch
Walked in without a reservation after shopping @ Harrod’s. It was busy during lunch hour but managed to get seats at the chef’s table. The salmon sashimi and prawn & black cod Gyoza were delicious. I wanted to taste the sparkling sake but the waitress forgot to bring the drink unfortunately!
Amazing food, great environment and excellent service
Zuma was an excellent choice for an upscale lunch when I visited London on one of my trips. Amazing food and excellent service. I had not made a reservation but they fitted me anyway and gave me the best time. Their food is divine and I loved the dishes I ate. The cobe, the grilled or the sushi was an amazing choice. I am so grateful for the people at Zuma for fitting me in and letting me experience their menu. I’ll be back😊
Wonderful lunch with the family.
It was after several months that we went back to Zuma. The menu had slightly changed. We had most of the vegetarian foods, chickenand seafood. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The salad served on the side of the soft-shell crab, was my favourite. The baby chicken was well prepared. The sliced yellow tail and the chawan mushi were exceptional.
Good food, rushed service
ZUMA is a well known Knightsbridge Asian restaurant which everyone should visit at least once. That’s why it is always very crowded, you always have to book it in advance etc. My observations are that the food is definitely very good and creative take on Japanese cuisine, the restaurant is beautiful and the staff tries to be polite. However due to the fact that it is so crowded and so popular , it definitely lacks some personal service, everything is rushed , and you do not feel very special here. The prices are on a high side , as you can pay the same at the top hotel or Michelin restaurant and get totally different service . Basically this is the place to see and be seen, for more special feeling go elsewhere.
Cool place.
Wonderfull food and really cool urban atmosphere. Note it's pricey, mosty of the dishes are just small diches so one will not do it as a main course.
Thanks for the memory
Fantastic dining. Food, variety, wine and service were wonderful. Presentation of food was excellent. Zuma team really welcoming and helpful.
Admittedly “rich person problems,” but there shouldn’t be glitches
This is generally speaking a great place with great servers. Very few can afford a place like this and it’s a special treat to go unless you are unfathomably rich. I hate to be rude, when we had a great evening and we are blessed with having the funds to be able to dine here. As you can tell from some of the negative reviews, it can be very disappointing when high expectations for a very special evening aren’t met. The Robata items (especially simple ones like chicken wings) are wonderful and so is the tempura. All are delivered hot. We have gone regularly since Zuma opened over a decade ago and usually give five stars, but as others have noted, the kitchen (lately) can be a little self indulgent as in being ok with overcooked fish or being unwilling to replace cucumber with avacado for someone allergic who wanted a special anniversary evening for their husband. Sadly, as with that customer who’s review I just read, they can rush the dinner in order to turn the tables quickly and beat the schedule. Sent back overcooked cooked salmon with concurrence of server but it came back again from the robata only slightly less overcooked. Did not send back a second time. Didn’t eat. For almost £500 for three would expect they’d get it right in two tries. The bar substituted Cuervo (😱headache time) for Don Julio in a £13 where the bar called for the premium Don Julio. Would not remake per the written cocktail menu. Instead offered a £23 Don Julio margarita instead of making what the cocktail menu specificed. Even if most wouldn’t catch the trick, they shouldn’t sneak a few extra pence by switching to low grade tequilla . The bar managers may be pleased with thenselves when they look at their margins, but where else do they cut corners or misrepresent and what do they lose when the customer goes to Nobu next time? The vendor (spirit vendors like Don Julio’s distributor) pay bars like Zuma via discounts for cocktail menu mentions, so that’s also not right for a large franchise like Zuma to cheat a vendor.
HORRIBLE SERVICE, HORRIBLE FOOD!!!!! Don't waste your time and money!!!!!!
Yesterday we were in this restaurant! It was our wedding anniversary and we made a reservation in advance, but we were seated in an uncomfortable place between all the guests. When I placed my order, I asked to replace the avocado with cucumber in the roll, since I am allergic to it, the waiter went to find out if this could be done. While he went to the kitchen to find out, my husband had already been brought his order, although it was meant that we needed to bring the food at the same time! The waiter came and said that it was impossible to do this, since they could not slice a cucumber like an avocado, although any child could do this. Then I asked if instead of avocado they could put at least a couple of slices of cucumbers next to me on the plate. The waiter left again to find out, at this time my husband was sitting with a cold order and did not eat, as he was waiting for me. Everyone forgot about drinks. Then the waiter came again and said that if we want a cucumber separately, then we should order a cucumber maki roll separately 🙈 this was the last straw of my patience and I asked to bring this roll any way since we were hungry!!! and again we sat and waited for a long time!!! In conclusion, I want to say that the food was not tasty and cold and it is not worth the money! They couldn't replace the avocado in the £45 roll, but for some reason they put ginger inside, which ruins everything!!!!! I don’t know where this restaurant got such advertising and such prices; in terms of the level of service and taste, this restaurant is comparable to a run-of-the-mill eatery! And by the way, they write about some kind of dress code???? seriously ??? Next to us sat a huge table of people in sweatshirts and sweatpants, as well as on the other side too! I do not advise anyone to come to this restaurant!!!!!
So chic...!
Nice place having 3 different kind of open kitchen... the food mainly fish based was delicious and fresh. The service was perfect and the drinks good too. The atmosphere so nice too. We paid around 120 eur per person. I recommend
Fantastic food and service
Amazing food and service as per usual, fantastic atmosphere always buzzing!! Great vibe. Every time I’m in London I try and visit.
Pleasant business lunch
I attended a business lunch here yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Elegant and stylish, the restaurant is very well laid out, the staff were attentive and the food and drink were superb. if you are dining in Knightsbridge then I highly recommend Zuma.
Absolutely one of the finest meals we have had! We travel
Absolutely one of the finest meals we have had! We travel around the world! Top 3 fine restaurant!!! Highly recommend spicy tuna roll, yellow tail hamachi and miso cod! The kitchen is a high performing machine and professional wonderful wait staff! Can't say enough great things about Zumba!
Excellent service
It was an amazing place and the food was very delicious. The staff that served us were incredibly friendly and attentive, specially one of the guy, with curly blond hair, brownskin, was 5 stars for us. Will definitely come back.
Excellent Japanese Fusion !
We had such a nice lunch in this Knightsbridge restaurant ! The menu is detailed and plates we took were amazing - we ate at the counter and such a nice experience ! Fish, maki, lamb, crab, tempuras everything was tasty and yummy ! The service is dedicated and perfect ! To be tested !!!
Zuma, once but definitely not twice !
We have visited Zuma on Wednesday 22nd of Feb in the evening . Although it started well and the food was good, we are overall very dissatisfied by the entire experience. Sitting at a table in the middle of the restaurant next to the 'waiter's desk' our table was pushed from the right to the left multiple times, to ensure a better passage for the waiters. Very unprofessional and maybe acceptable in a pub, but not in this type of place, Waiters constantly bumped to our chair,s, making this an overall terrible experience. Once but definitely not twice !
UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
On a foodie holiday and decided to try Japanese for a change. I cannot describe how incredible the food was here! Absolutely stunning. The lobster was amazing, jumbo prawn - lost for words and the iberico pork was just the best. Definitely, without a doubt going back.
Super fast and friendly service
We ordered the tasting menu which was a lot of food and good value for money. Excellent food in a young and busy atmosphere. Every dish came super fast and the large staff were very friendly. Quite an experience, and a night to remember.
Very cozy place
It used to be my favourite place when I used go to London but I have been recently and I don’t think is good like it used to be…specially the food because service and drinks are okay. For sure the best place in Knightsbridge and I would recommended and I will visit this place every time I get in London ..
This place was nice.
The music was quite loud so I definitely do not recommend to go on a date unless you're looking for a distraction. Our waitress is very attentive which was appreciated. The miso soup was delicious but it was served at the end of the meal. The edamame was perfectly steamed but a bit too much salt. This is shishito peppers were not my favorite quite undercooked and we sent them back. The sashimi was decent and so was the sushi. The seating was not super comfortable. My absolute favorite was desert!!! I was not expecting it to be soooo good but it was. Overall the place was good.
Food was superb! Has the hamachi, tempura, steak! Sake so
Food was superb! Has the hamachi, tempura, steak! Sake so good! Amazing decor! Perfect for a get together with friends !
Came here after a recommendation from our hotels Concierge
Came here after a recommendation from our hotels Concierge to continue celebrating our honeymoon eurotrip.Advertised to us as higher quality Asian fare and nothing else, we were open to give it a shot.Entering into the place with lower lighting, loud music, and a relatively chic vibe, we were happy to receive this recommendation. The restaurant was very busy.Once seated, we noticed it took a while for our waiter to get to us. After twenty minutes waiting I asked for our waiter to come to us. The drink options were very nice and imaginative. Well mixed and spirit forward. The menu is quite expansive and at times worrisome. So many options, both cooked and raw, concerning that the food would lack flavor and imagination. We ordered started, neat Skewers, iberico pork, tempura shrimp, mushrooms, and sashimi. I can't say that every dish was amazing but I can say that every bite was at least above average. To expand a little: the fish was fresh and perfectly cut, tempura fried and brought to the table immediately, mushrooms crispy and flavorful. The let down perhaps was the chicken skewers which were just well cooked but otherwise normal.Very pleased with the recommendation and would certainly return here to try other options.
First food stop on my trip in London.
Service was superb as well as the food. Efficient without being rushed. All the sushi was fresh and flavorful. Great peppery seasoning on the calamari. Dessert was beautiful, ambiance was great.Highly recommend
