Aromi Cambridge Reviews from The Last Year
Excellent, fresh, high quality catering
Our silat martial arts group would like to thank you for the high quality of food that you catered for our gathering at West Hub in Cambridge on Friday evening. The pizza slices were appealing to look at with their colours and freshness and the taste was excellent. People especially loved the seasoning on the zucchini and the taste of the sweet cannolicchi. I was also pleased with the way that the items were packaged; we were able to serve the pizza and sweets straight from the decorative boxes. Thank you to you and your staff for your time and effort.
Cozy setting inside with wonderful and attentive service,
Cozy setting inside with wonderful and attentive service, second only to the food offerings. You may have as much trouble as we did choosing between the unique pizza options, and if our two choices are any indication, you cannot go wrong with your selection! We started off with the Spinach Arancini; perfectly baked rice balls with a blend of spinach and cheese. The pizzas were large and delicious, and we almost completely finished them before having to reluctantly put down our forks. The Caponata and the Crudo were both home runs, as the spices melded beautifully with the toppings on each.
Great Pizza Average service
Great pizza average service. Food more than makes up for mediocre service. The smile costs extra. Still recommend good value and very filling
Delicious pizza
After seeing this place recommended online we decided to pay it a visit whilst staying in Cambridge. Arrived late afternoon & managed to find a table but were told that the restaurant was closing in order for staff to clear up & prepare for the evening service. A bit disappointing, but we decided to buy pizza & coffees to take away instead, & we found a nearby bench outside to sit & eat on. Coffee fantastic, pizzas even better, some of the best pizza we’d ever eaten. Would go back to try the gelato next time.
Poor food, poor service.
Was recommended to us as we travel to Italy a lot and love authentic Italian food. This was a MASSIVE let down. Firstly, service was so so poor! They have 2 entrances, one to the take out part, one to the restaurant. We turned up at 5:45pm, the restaurant opened at 6pm, we asked a tall blonde woman who worked there (seemed to be a manager as was not a server) where we should wait, she advised us to wait by the restaurant door as the other door was for takeaway only. We stood for 15 minutes, by the glass door, othered queued behind us, where she could see us. At 6pm we walk in to be told SO RUDELY that she never spoke to us and that we were at the wrong door. The people behind us had also heard her talk to us, so they too could not believe what she was saying. By this point I was so annoyed as this meant we were now at the back of the queue, that I wanted to leave, but my partner wanted to stay as we had heard the food was good, so we did. We got sat next to a bin, by the restaurant door (the door that was in fact, not in use). Throughout our meal people would walk in this door only to be told by staff they must leave and walk around to the takeout door. Honestly baffling behaviour, and every time it happened I had to laugh, why not just put a sign on the door???? Why make it so complicated?? To pay at the end, you then have to queue halfway into the take out queue, in a small walkway, where servers are trying to get past with food. Again making it so so confusing and annoying. The staff are miserable. Our first plate was basically thrown at us and a mumble of “arancini”. At one point I asked for a spoon as I had dropped mine, was told yes, and never received it. I couldn’t be bothered to ask again so used my partners. The food; absolutely not worth the annoyance or wait. I really don’t get the “hype”. Arancini was so tough, spinach was ok in taste, but the Ragu one tasted horrid, I couldn’t finish it. Pizza was nice but honestly, nothing to shout about. It’s sourdough stone baked pizza, the flavours are simple and classic, but I’ve had better in multiple establishments. Gelato was nice, but they had no chocolate left which is surprising as dinner service had just started. All in all, I’ll never go back and I’ll never recommend it.
Great spot
Me and my partner both enjoyed our lunch here and the service was great. Naomi especially was lovely. We will be coming back again soon.
Disappointing Again
Not great at all. It has not been good for a while. I would not recommend any more. Poor value, the focaccia had little filling, very chewy and soon lost its temperature after heating. The coffee was ok, but it was not what I ordered and overpriced.
Underwhelmed
Visited on a Monday evening… had to search out a member of staff and ask for a table. Waited a long time to order and considered leaving. Service is bare minimum in this place but of course a service charge is applied and then once you’ve taken yourself to the counter to pay they prompt you to leave a second tip! They literally carry a pizza from the oven to your table. The menu is very limited across the board, pizza is nothing special. Gelato is very basic. Couldn’t wait to leave, won’t return. Poor value.
Poor quality evening menu suited to the undiscerning tourist who will pay anything for the experience of aromi.
The food in the evening is poor quality. The aricini are smaller than the day time ones and are greasy and lukewarm. The ragu one was tasteless and had some pink coloured stuff in them. The pizza was so thin on the base you could see through it. It can’t have been more than 2 mm thick. It was a very disappointing meal we won’t be repeating.
The best pizza I've ever had. Mind blown.
Possibly the best pizza i have ever had in my life and I've been many places. It was that good I had to tell the chef. Unbelievable.
Very nice
My wife and I love this place. The food and coffee are wonderful! It gets busy, so it can be hard to get a table, but it's always a great option for lunch.
