Del Popolo San Francisco Reviews
Solid pizza + wine bar near the SF Masonic.
Came with a friend around 5:30 p.m. on a Thursday. I recommend making reservations, as they fill up quickly, even on weeknights! The weather was beautiful, so we snagged a table in their garden patio. We ordered meatballs and the shishito peppers t
Pizza was pretty disappointing.
Floppy thick dough. The Margherita came out with pooled with tomato water on top. Just a hot wet mess. Extremely bland and under seasoned. The texture was all wet chewy dough. The service was friendly but uneducated abut their own menu. People on t
Wow!! This pizza was AMAZING.
Hands down one of the best pizza places I've ever tried. I love pizza, I could eat it every day. The flavors were just there all around! I ate outside in the back. The pizza was soft but still had that wood fire taste. I ordered the Cesar salad
Must Visit
We visited this AMAZING place on August. I would personally advise you to make a reservation. The pizzas were really nice and the environment was so POSH. If i was living in the neighborhood i would visit it at least a week ⭐️

Unfortunate.
Expensive, typical sf hype, doesn't meet the standard. Background: pizza connoisseur; always tests margherita pizzas as a measure of napoletana style skill; usually use nyc and Italy as reference and benchmark for top quality pizza. Have tried

I am disappointed that my experience was not as good as everyone else's. I've had this place on my list of must-tries for the past year and recently had the opportunity. I had made a reservation earlier in the week which I highly recommend

Just a solid pizza spot, with beautiful bar seating that flanks their massive pizza oven. They've got some really fun options, including my fave, the spicy salami with red onion and pepper flakes. I'm always amazed at how quickly pies come
The back garden area is sooo cute to sit.
The entire restaurant is well decorated and the candles and lights add a beautiful touch to the ambience. We ordered the margarita pizza the potato pizza, the olives and the fries and all four of them were so delicious. This is definitely in the top
I had the Bianca pizza and it was terrible.
The garlic was not fresh that they used. The sauce is bitter and the pizza was such a let down. The restaurant is beautiful and the service was really nice tough.
Wow, surprised you've got this at a 4.
0 We ordered some drinks, olives and 2 pizzas. Olives were interesting, good, but the pizzas were amazing. Possibly the best pizza dough / crust I've ever had. Will try more next time, but the pizza is 5 all day long. Service great as well.

Food was fine (4/5) and our waiter was great.
Reason for the negative review was due to the interaction with the hostess as we finished dinner around 9pm on Saturday. We were in a slight hurry walking out as we were trying to make it on time to our next destination. My girlfriend walked past t
Some of the best pizza I've had no doubt.
I read good things about this place and decided to check it out. The vibe inside was a bit drab on a rainy day but it was a cozy feel around the bar which encircles the pizza oven. I like the idea of the pizza oven being right in the heart of the res

Absolutely delicious wood fired pizza.
Had the margarita and it didn't disappoint. Had a seat in front of the pizza oven and got to watch the chefs work which was fun. Fried cauliflower was good. Servers were very attentive. It's a small restaurant but very cute and warm.

I stumbled into this place while aimlessly exploring SF on a business trip. It immediately caught my eye as the kind of pizza spot I'd want to check out. After doing some some searching, I found out that this is a destination spot for Neapolitan pizz
So-so experience
The pizzas are mostly white-based. Appetizers and dessert are delicious. Service is disappointing. The ambiance is loud, so this is not ideal for date night.

This place was really good.
The crust is so thin and somehow still so pillowy. I've never really had anything quite like it, the crust is very good. The toppings were secondary to the crust, we got the trumpet mushroom and the one with the house made sausage on it, the mushroo

Del Popolo came onto my radar after scouring through several lists of SF's best pizza. While I wouldn't say their Neapolitan style pizza is the best in the city, it was definitely tasty! We had the red kabocha squash and salsiccia - the squash pizza

Expensive for what is offered
Very friendly service but pizzas not up to par. Soft, soaked dough and high price. The only advantage is that it is right next to the small Inn where we stay.
Excellent pizza
We discovered this pizzeria next to our hotel by chance We went there for 3 evenings tired of the usual American food after 18 days in California. The pizzas are very good...smaller than ours but good.. for those who say they are filled with spicy...
Great pizza, let down a bit by service
Pros: delicious food, nice fit out. Cons: unbearably hot with slow and officious service. Looked like a decent wait on a Friday night without a reservation.
Good pizza!
The quality of the food is very good, we ate better pizza than some we ate in Italy. The flaw is that not having booked initially we were bounced even though they had empty tables, we checked the possibility of booking on the site and it was availabl
It is good but…
The wood-fired pizzas present themselves very well - the dough and cooking are excellent. The big flaw is ruining pizzas with excess chili pepper or garlic or onion. But why? It would be easy to get to an excellent level - it would be enough not to o
Neapolitan pizza in San Francisco
Incredibly the pizza is truly an Italian pizza, or rather Neapolitan. Cooked in a wood-fired oven and prepared by a pizza chef who knows how to play with dough like our local ones. Among other things, digestible pasta as is not always the case in Ita
So first, the pizza was fantastic.
The funghi pizza with added sausage ($4) was delicious and I inhaled it. Definitely order one per person. But. I came in just after 8pm as a party of one with a couple empty bar seats as a walk in, and was told that there was a long wait list and tha
Del Popolo is just a big "win" for me.
..cozy back patio, friendly service, but it's the chewy dough that takes it home for me. The crust has a perfect char, yet still nice and chewy. The quality is akin to Montesacro. And the cheesecake was deceptively good, perfect consistency, firm

Loved the decor and ambiance when we walked in.
Unfortunately, we didn't have a reservation, so we had to sit on the patio downstairs. The patio was adorable and warm from the multiple heat lamps. Now the food...Marinated Beets (3.5/5) - the yogurt sauce, almonds, and grapefruit were wonderful add

Cute spot.
Great pizza. Don't think you can go wrong! We sat on the back patio and it was such a vibe. All the pizzas we had were to die for. Service was fast and efficient.
Nice
Tasty pizza and cosy place. Staff was attentive and very helpful. Foccacia was tasty and pizza alright. I didn't love the tomato sauce in the pizza, but I guess it's a personal preference as dough was great :)
