ジーニアス ラウンジ 346 Lewers St, Honolulu, HI 96815 Honolulu Reviews from The Last Year
Food and service were both amazing, highly recommend this
Food and service were both amazing, highly recommend this restaurant. Great location, quick service, food came out very timely. Had some sushi and pasta, and lava flows. Loved everything.
The food is OK.
Not great, not terrible. Service was not good. The environment is very mediocre. The menu is almost impossible to understand. It has symbols for veg and vegan items at the beginning, but there are no symbols throughout the menu. Our waiter wasn't bringing the check so we got up to pay inside and he came and told us to go back to the table. Not a good experience. I'd pass if I were you.
We tried the gyoza and mochiko appetizers.
Both were delicious. The gyoza sauce was delicious as were the filling. The mochiko chicken was nicely fried and had a nice crispy crunch and not greasy. Also had the regular and pineapple mojitos. The mojitos were light in alcohol (almost couldn't taste it) and the pineapple splash was a nice touch. The drinks tasted more like a fruit punch unfortunately. For our main entrees we had the yuzu chicken, furikake ahi steak and the original garlic shrimp.
I had a lovely evening genius lounge.
The service was great and the food was lovely and tasty. There were only a few other people around when I was dining on the patio and it was nice and quiet and relaxing. I was staying on the main drag and decided to wander off for a bit more quiet and I found it. Well worth the two or three block walk. Prices were a bit more reasonable than I had seen elsewhere.
We were looking for a different t vibe and chill Ambiance
We were looking for a different t vibe and chill Ambiance of the main strip. This is a great place to grab some Hawaiian fusion food and drinks. Food was pretty good. To be clear is not considered fine dining but more chill type food. We ordered the Hawaiian Loco Loco in a Stone bowl which was very yummy. My favorite was the Kalua Pork and Island Egg Cabonara. The Loco Moco pizza was also very good. The Service was excellent. Very attentive staff with a friendly attitude. Highly recommend.
A neat bar that closes relatively late everyday.
When I first came here, my bartender G had the best service. A year later I started coming here bringing my other friends from the island, they all agreed G was so fun and awesome to talk to. She remembers you even if it's been a year or a month. Great service is hard to find, but I'm glad every time I'm on the island, G's got me!
Long story short, made and cancelled a dinner reservation
Long story short, made and cancelled a dinner reservation via Open Table for the same day and this venture ended up charging me for the cancellation fee. Their hostess didn't mention anything about a cancellation fee being charged when I called them as a courtesy to cancel directly. When trying to explain my case, manager was still persistent about still charging me for all the business he had to turn away due to my large party (even though on Open Table there were time slots available), and for setting the table for a party of 18 (15-20 minutes??). Thanks for sharing the aloha spirit.

It is tucked upstairs on the 3rd floor of the building, above 2 other restaurants. There is a back lanai, dining room & bar & a front lanai. We chose the lanai facing over the street view, wasn't much to look at, but it was nice to be outside. Exteriors had a little bit disconnect as it looked like a Mexican restaurant, but the interior was super cute and looked like someone's home with a Holiday tree. Drinks were only Ok, didn't really enjoy them as much as the food. Tried the house made noodles with the pork & Parmesan Alfredo dipping sauce, very tasty. The noodles had a great chew & even tasted good the next day. The Black sauce chicken appetizer was delicious. Just get it, lol, as were the pork gyoza. Wait staff was nice, and gave some good recommendations.
Simple food, great ambiance, and sweet service! The items
Simple food, great ambiance, and sweet service! The items on the menu isn't super complicated and the food is amazing! The fresh raw oysters with the vinegar is soooo goood! You can tell they were fresh! I also got the garlic shrimp, which pairs well with the bread(crostinis). Soaked up all that juicy lemony-garlickiness. Lastly, i could not leave without any of the delightful desserts... As someone not a fan of kulolo, i am 100% a fan of fried yumminess. Imagine it as a goeeey brownie feel, but it was kulolo... so in a sense... it's "healthier" lol.... It was sooo goooeyyy and warm... and with the creaminess of the ube ice cream... it was for sure a show stopper! I could definitely come back for this dessert alone! And maybe a nice cocktail as well! Let's talk geographically... and scenic... it's isn't the prettiest patio view... definitely not the worse though. The restaurant is very small and on the 3rd floor so not easily accessible with anyone in a wheelchair or have a hard time walking up stairs. A few suggestions I would say though is to view the menu online... their physical menu is a bit deteriorated and very distracting (over the top). Their staff is very friendly and takes care of their guest very well! I wish i remembered my servers name... but he was really nice and he said he was new.... I came in one night alone, him and the other guy was very personable! I'll be back for sure!
