Sushi Fumi Los Angeles Reviews from The Last Year
Very fresh sushi.
The Hina roll was our absolute favorite. So so good. Service was super fast and efficient. The restaurant itself is nice and cozy. Be ready to possibly have to wait in line to get in. Great spot.
It should be illegal to be this delicious.
(Also everyone who works here is SUPER RAD.)
Top notch sushi.
Order off the daily specials board, that's where all the best stuff is. Our go-to spot before Largo at the Coronet shows.
Best sushi in la! Always accommodating and pleasant.
It's our favorite place to go! Food is delicious and the environment is great!!
One of my favorite sushi spots in LA for years.
No reservations so good to go on the early side (even 5pm if you can); the wait can be an hour + during prime time. They'll text you when table is ready so you can walk nearby to The Nice Guy to get a drink while waiting. It's pretty small and bustling inside with a sushi bar. Great rolls, amazing sashimi (there's a salmon with truffle that is to die for). One of the best spicy tune crispy rice's in town and baked crab hand rolls. Highly recommend for a good sushi spot in the West Hollywood area. It does seem in recent years to have been taken over by a younger Gen Z crowd (I blame Tik Tok).
Service is amazing.
Food is incredible. Everything we had was absolutely delicious and we cannot wait to go back for more! I will say to get there early when they open or be prepared to have a very long wait. However, they do call you when your table is ready and they give you five minutes to get to the restaurant in case you want to go wander around the area.
Came here on a Tuesday evening with a friend.
Note that they have a shared back parking lot but it was kind of difficult to locate the entrance and there aren't a ton of spaces. We were going to a candlelight concert after and worried about time but the waitlist actually went very quickly. Put down my name around 7:15pm and was seated around 7:45pm. It's quite small inside and we were seated at the bar. We ordered the Hina roll, toro sashimi, uni nigiri, scallop nigiri, tamago nigiri, and the toro with jalapeño cilantro & truffle ponzu sauce. The fish tasted very fresh and the orders came out quickly. Everything was delicious - my favorite was probably the toro with truffle ponzu. But I'm biased cause I love truffle anything! We ended up getting service directly from one of the sushi chefs and multiple servers that were walking around. Our empty plates were bussed quickly between orders, and It worked out for our timing because we had somewhere to be after. It made sense they were trying to move quickly for the dinner rush. I would definitely recommend this spot if you're looking for quality sushi from a cute local spot. Looking forward to coming back to try the other menu items!
Great food and atmosphere loved it visiting from Louisiana
Great food and atmosphere loved it visiting from Louisiana definitely picked the right spot
My friend took me here swearing it was the best sushi in
My friend took me here swearing it was the best sushi in the area. No reservations and usually a line. That put me off but I gave it a try. AMAZING! Every order was a 10 out of 10 and I am picky. My wife is Japanese and I've eaten sushi from Hokkaido all the way down to Kyushu. This is a seriously great, authentic Japanese sushi bar. The ambiance is very casual and not much to speak of. Service is straight ahead and good. But it's all about the fish. The toro was great but the regular tuna order really surprised me. So high quality. Really, just order anything and you'll be impressed. There is parking behind and we got the last spot at 5:30 PM on a Wednesday. Even then we had to wait 35 minutes for a table but it was worth it.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone I know.
Extremely rude service, rude owner, and a very low class crowd to match the tactless management. Additionally, I saw a roach in the bathroom stall. Imagine that. The whole restaurant feels extremely dirty. Not sure if they even have an A because their sign is hidden. Personally, it's too dirty to recommend to anyone.
Sushi Fumi
Top 3 sushi in LA. Very 80s interior but not by design. The food is also retro but it’s freakin amazing. All the combo dishes with fried onion/garlic, seared pieces, and all other untraditional dishes are deicious. The sushi sizes are perfect and the rice temp is on point. Highly highly recommend
Beat fresh fish ever!
The fish is as fresh and flavorful as I have ever had. Pretty basic otherwise but so worth a visit. No reservations so get there early or be prepared to wait
