We started out with the deviled eggs and biscuits and both were to die for. The biscuits melt in your mouth and the crab on the eggs was perfection. I would recommend getting the jelly for the biscuits as the pimento wasn't my favorite. Appetize

I really don't understand the hype.
I've been for both dinner and brunch and it's honestly average food at expensive prices and hit or miss service. The biscuits are good but really not worth it to come here for them alone. The steaks are not that great, and if you want go
Pretty great spot! The neighborhood is a lively area.
The ambiance is super rustic, basement vibes as soon as you walk in. Taxidermy, 70s decor, low lighting, and a great view of the cooks in the kitchen. Service was awesome -- super attentive staff and very polite. The pimento cheese biscuits were flak
I've been to St.

I was there for my anniversary.
All the food was amazing. This was my second visit as the first was with friends from out of town, who said the restaurant was amazing and I wanted to share the experience with my husband on our special day. The service was amazing.
Went to St.
Anselm for Sunday brunch as part of Take a Man Out to Dinner month and it did not disappoint. My guy had the ribeye, I tried the salmon collar and both were delicious. The private side booths made for a cozy vibe, and service was spot-on. Don't

Their ambiance is welcoming and cozy. Service is excellent with even a sommelier who helped us narrow down choices of wine. My boyfriend loves a good ribeye and I love a good NY strip. We both are never disappointed with our food. Also the biscuit a

As always, excellent service and delicious food! This is the place for a solid, perfectly cooked steak - try the ribeye and the skirt steak. They keep us coming back!
BEST STEAKHOUSE in DC, and I mean it.
That biscuit was one of the best biscuit that I've ever had, the spread that came with it was also amazing too. The ribeyes was so good, when I bite it I could tell the presence of every single ingredients and seasoning in the steak, and it lit

I visited St Anselm once again, on a Monday.
It was a warm day so I was trying to stay cool. The train car was cool but the heat blasted everything. I sat at the bar again and the bartender came over. I ordered a German Pilsner and started to look at the menu. I had a good idea what I wanted.

Great steaks and drink and a nice environment.
Good steaks, good drinks and nice waiter. I had the NY Strip with pepper sauce, it was great. Very tastefull environment like the roaring 20’s.
An Amazing Experience, Can’t Wait to Return!!!
My family and I got an amazing brunch at St Ansem, complete with a friendly and prompt service (the owner even stopped by and was very kind to my daughters). The biscuits are amazing here and not to be missed at any meal! We loved everything we order
Hope you get a better server than we did
Milestone birthday, reservations with birthday noted. So sad that we spent so much money and they couldn’t even make our evening special. Server didn’t ask if we needed more drinks. Another server had to bring out our food 75 minutes after we ord
Disappointing
Purportedly one of the best steakhouses in DC and my medium rare ribeye was nowhere near restaurant quality. It was so tough, I had to ask for a different steak knife. Great service and the biscuits were fantastic, but I would not go back here for s

Came in on a busy weeknight with a coworker for dinner. Started at the bar, where the bartender was very helpful and did a great job describing the menu, as well as his wine list. They had various wines available by-the-glass which came in either a
Union Market Jewel
Mysterious atmosphere, dark enough to give you some privacy, perfect for couples or close friends to get together. We had a full service at the Bar, that was very well equipped. All 3(!) Bartenders were working non-stop. We stayed late till midnight
super fun family dinner
Great dinner experience at St. Anselm. The steaks were cooked nicely and all the sides were very good. I ordered the biscuits since almost all the reviews I read highly recommended and they were DELICIOUS. Fun atmosphere and fantastic playlists.
Fun place to visit
Party of 8 had a very nice dinner here last night. Service was slow but the staff seemed pretty stretched but overall offering was good with a wine list that is amazingly long and varied
My husband had a nice steak with fingerling potatoes.
My iceberg lettuce salad had a very thin bleu cheese dressing. I also had a "monster prawn," a lot of shell around rather tough and flavorless meat. Disappointing for my side of an expensive meal.

Food: Excellent and fresh.
We had espresso martinis and oysters to start and then the 16 oz ribeye, lamb leg steak, crispy fingerling potatoes and creamed spinach as our main meal. Everything was delicious - I will probably order the potatoes every time I go there because they
We really enjoyed our dinner here.
Everything we ordered tasted amazing and the restaurant has a very comfortable atmosphere. If you're a steak lover this is a must-try.
Food and service were great.
Ate at the bar, very comfortable. Steak was perfect and the okra was very good. And they have a good bourbon selections. I certainly would return.
This is one of my favorite spots in DC.

Wonderful. Thank you.
Excellent! Great food and service. First time, and we will be back. Kinda cramped - too many tables in the space for our liking, but it was great. Thank you.
Over the top - delicious!
Randomly picked this restaurant and would definitely return. GREAT food with hearty servings (enough to eat for leftovers the next day). We loved the fact that they offered sharable servings (family style size). Plenty to eat. Plenty to take home. Ou
Great food and setting but need to fine tune some elements
To put it in perspective, we had one appetizer, one salad, one cocktail each, and one bottle of the “value” wine and dinner was $650 for three people. The food was excellent. We had ribeye steaks and skirt steaks. The sommelier was fabulous. It
Literally incredible.
The best service I've had in DC to date. Great food and a lovely atmosphere.
Transcendent.
Life-changing. Revolutionary. Unforgettable. You have done it again. Thank you, St. Anselm.
I had heard great things about St Anselm and was pleased.
I do plan on returning as I'm interested in trying their brunch. We had a reservation for 515pm and arrived late but felt like the restaurant was very accommodating. The ambiance was typical for a Friday night crowd. Our server, Carlos was attentive

I visited for the Saturday brunch.
